The service is unprofessional, rude, embarrassing, and down right ridiculous. I placed a pick up order at 5:20pm, said it would be ready by 5:52pm. I'm convinced they are purposely not giving my husband our order. My husband arrived at 5:40pm and he is STILL sitting there now, 3 hours later waiting for the food, THREE HOURS! He's choosing to wait because he's a good partner, but also to not let them get away with this awful service. I would love to give them 5 stars but I recently had a very poor experience with staff. On August 13th, my best friend had her baby in the morning and she wanted sushi so badly. So I called YAMA around noon to place a pick up order for my boyfriend to pick up and bring to us at the hospital. While I was ordering the guy on the phone was very short and rude with me and hung up the phone before I could even say thank you. Maybe even less than 20 minutes later the guy started calling me OVER AND OVER, BACK TO BACK, AT LEAST 5 TIMES, all while I'm IN A HOSPITAL LABOR AND DELIVERY ROOM trying to help my friend who just had a baby. I was finally able to answer one of the calls and he cut me off as soon as I said "hello" and he said "come get your order" and I was about to say "yeah I know--someone is on their way to get it" but he literally hung up on me AGAIN, so fast that I couldn't even get ONE word out and then he called me twice MORE back to back AND left a voicemail. Totally ridiculous behavior. Mind you-- my boyfriend picked up the order with in 30 minutes of me placing it and it takes at least 20 minutes to get there from our house. It's not like I was being slow to pick it up or something-- my boyfriend was actually pretty fast. THEN I told my boyfriend what happened and how I was treated over the phone before he went in to pick up the order so he wasn't exactly happy going into the restaurant and the lady at the front says to him, "having a rough day??" Lol Like, what?? -- No, we were having a great day actually before we tried to place the simplest order and then got harassed for 20 minutes until we showed up. They didn't even give us utensils or chop sticks. Then she kept trying to get him to take free soup but at that point he just wanted to get our food and get the heck out of there. We want to come back bc the sushi here is the best around, but holy cow-- that experience was so frustrating and so rude honestly. Im not sure if they thought I wasn't going to pay or show up or what but what the actual heck??? It made me not want to deal with them again for awhile. If you place a pick up order make sure you're basically ready to teleport I guess or something to pick it up after the first phone call or else I guess you'll just get called a million times until you show up and get hung up on multiple times. lol read more

I found Zen Gardens and Nancy was patient with showing me the menu and what to order. They have since moved and changed their name to Yama Sushi. They are always friendly there, especially Nancy, Max, Linda. The cooks don't get enough praise. The sushi man is awesome. I love their Crunch roll. This is my favorite and when I come in to order, they know exactly what I want, how I want it and are very friendly. The crunch roll is very, very good. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, the food is amazing! I've never had hot and sour soup so evenly balanced and great, this place is slept on for real! The service is great the owner is so sweet and kind and just a stand up guy. The sushi on the other hand is so fresh and light. It melts in your tongue and is delicious!
