I got the carnitas burrito, and my friend got the carnitas taco. I was especially impressed by how much meat they put in my burrito for the price. The carnitas were tender with crispy pieces throughout, and the whole thing was flavorful, filling, and tasted surprisingly authentic. For how affordable everything was, I wasn't expecting the quality or portions to be as good as they were. The restaurant itself is also pretty spacious inside with plenty of seating, and the cashier who rang us up was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I came in mostly because I needed a quick meal while passing through, but I left already thinking I'd stop here again the next time I'm driving through town.

This was our second trip to Los Jilbertos this year and I was very happy with my meal…read more I got the two taco plate (carnitas and adobada) and an order of three rolled tacos (taquitos) with guacamole sauce. The tacos, which were made with double full-sized corn tortillas, were stuffed with meat and fixings. The carnitas was flavorful and crispy. The adobadas could have used more marinade and was bordering on dry, but was still satisfying. You can't see it in the picture, but under the tacos, the rice and beans completely filled the bottom of the container. The refried beans were lardy and rich. The rice was perfectly done. The rolled tacos were crispy and topped with a guacamole sauce and a little shredded cheese. Inside the rolled tacos was very tender, almost mushy, shredded beef (I dissected one, so I know). The SO got the fish taco and a bean and cheese burrito. She was very happy with her order. In the taco was a very generous amount of crunchy fried fish topped with a lot of cabbage, sauce, onions and cilantro. The salsa bar was fresh and had everything I needed to compliment my meal. The red and green sauces both had good flavor. The carrots and onions were spiced nicely. What really surprised me today was how fast our order was ready. Just a few minutes after I finished getting my sauces, pico de gallo, and carrots, we were walking out the door with our food. There was even a long drive thru line. If you're in the area and you're hungry, don't pass by this place by.

However, since the road has been "upgraded" and can no longer just turn in, the hassle is not worth the food I picked up last night, Thursday, April 23, 2026. I ordered a pork chimichanga and was told 10-15 minutes, immediately got in car and in 10 minutes or less, walked in to my order setting on the checkout counted. Weird. Got home, food was stone cold, soggy and without any flavor. Even the inside materials were cold, huge meat chunks and flavorless. Either it's new owners or that night the chef was not paying attention. Bummer. I could not eat it even after heating it up. Also, upon opening the box I noticed the fresh toppings were wilted. Ugg. Their pico de gallo use to be out of this world. Why was the food on the counter and not under the heat lamps? Where did the flavor go? Not sure I'll return or tell folks about this place any more.
