Delicious street tacos, gorditas, and burritos! Yummo! The portions are not big but the flavor sure is and they stuff the food with plenty of fillings. Lunch time is great, but you should try breakfast, too! The sausage burrito, though a simple egg, cheese, and sausage combo, is deeeeelicious! I think what makes it all so good is the hot green chili sauce (in a cup) that accompanies your order. It comes in a cup so you control the heat. Caution: CASH only at this establishment. Time: takes some time for each order so expect a wait. Service: Almost Soup-Nazi-ish...but weirdly great. Plus: One can order ahead and pick up. That's cool.

The tamales were flavorful and amazing! Why not 5 stars? I am allergic to gluten and asked for corn tortillas instead of a flour tortilla and they charged me instead of substituting. There are even a couple of picnic tables out front. Great little spot.

Located on the west side of town you find an excellent food cart, Loncheria Rubi Simple Mexican Food. Located in the lot of a small gas station it's easy to miss, however make a point to find it and you'll be rewarded with delicious simple Mexican food. A small simple menu of beef, chicken, pork, tongue & tripe can be prepared either as breakfast, tacos, burritos or sandwiches. Prices are varying depending on what you want, but tacos are $2 each. Service is friendly and food is prepared as you order it, nothing premade. Incredibly there happens to be a Del Taco not 100 feet away, during lunch the disgustingly bad Del Taco has a line wrapped around the building with a full parking lot. Loncheria Rubi will only a few customers, why would anyone choose to eat mass produced swill when there is real Mexican so close in beyond me. My advice, use Del Tacos parking lot and walk 100 feet for real food. Try Loncheria Rubi and I'll bet it will become one of your go to spots for a quick meal on the cheap. Located in the lot of Dible's Fuel Barn, next to Sprouts Grocery Store.

Carne Asada Tacos $2 each. Best tacos in Grand Junction!

Definitely check this taco truck out!!! You won't be disappointed!! Rubi's is by far the best Mexican food in GJ!! The tacos are insanely good and the men cooking them are just as incredible. I come here at least 2-3 times a week to get Carne Asada tacos and every time they are cooked to perfection. The tortillas are amazing and taste so fresh and made from scratch!! The men now know I like extra lime and I no longer have to ask!!

    Killer Gorditas!

I like this place! This is just a little food truck, but it pounds out some great flavors. The sign says "simple Mexican food". They should have included the word delicious. I had a couple of tacos (asada and carnitas) they were so good I had a couple of chicharron gorditas. POW! They have a couple of bench tables with umbrellas so there is a nice place to sit and enjoy your meal. The people in the truck are really helpful and friendly too. I gotta feeling I'm going to be a regular. Enjoy Cheue`

Wonderful little breakfast stationary truck at the Sinclair gas station. Very popular. Excellent breakfast burritos served all day and popular lunch items after 10:30.

Rude. Very rude people. So so food. Learn some manners. I'm sure there's better burrito options in grand junction.

Like the many reviews state, this food truck is located at Mesa Mall right in front of the Dicks Sporting Good. I mean once youre at Mesa Mall and you're panicking you can't find it, just give it the mall a good ole round-a-bout you'll find it trust. Enough about logistics and my biscuit history, lets talk Alarado. The biscuits. Whatever you get, you have to try it with the biscuit. Personally went with the sausage, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich with pepper jack and the BISCUIT ofc. There's something surreal about eating a delicious biscuit breakfast sandwich at 7:00 am in the morning when its raining outside. I'm surprised I even got a photo of it before demolishing it. Now underrated co-start is the breakfast burrito. Because my back is big, I also got a chorizo breakfast burrito with green chili. Goodness gracious, that one also was a banger seriously. Biscuit sandwich or burritos are definitely the move I'd say here. Go get your biscuit on.

Owners are Shervin and Maria. Sounds like they have family in several parts of the U.S., including California and the South, and also have strong roots in Grand Junction. And thankfully for the locals, because this has got to be some of the best Southern fried chicken and catfish in the state. I love that this is a family owned spot run out of a food truck that roves. They may be downtown or out near the Tractor Supply off of Highway 6 and 50, or at regional festivals and other events. Be sure to give them a call before you head over -- and you can place your order by phone as well. Which is a great idea. This food is fresh and can take 15-20 minutes before it is ready. My favorite is the catfish. Massive serving with a light, well-seasoned batter and served hot and very fresh. I could not believe you can get two large fillets and sides at only $21 -- pre-tip. That is an amazingly affordable price. I recommend fries (also a huge serving) and also the mac, which is both cheesy and a bit sweet. And check the menu for supply. They also have chicken, sandwiches, (very flavorful) wings and tenders, mash potatoes, sweet potato pie, greens, etc. Shervin and Maria, and one of their sons (who was helping out during one of my visits), seem like a lovely family who care deeply about Grand Junction and the food scene. They are very much local, while also open and welcoming to visitors. I look forward to seeing them again.

If you're a breakfast burrito lover (I sure am), this will likely become one of your regulars. They do mini burritos called the "Lil Richard," and a humongous one (good for sharing) called the "Big Richard." Everything's made to order after you walk up; a short wait, but worth it. They use great ingredients like crisp bacon and tater tots, plus they add zesty New Mexico green chile. And each burrito is grilled on the outside with melty, toasted cheese. They serve 'em up with a tangy green salsa. This is a local, family run business, and there's love in the food. They felt like it was hard to find a really great breakfast burrito in GJ, and they deliver it. Their dog is the mascot -- the original Lil Richard. I also like Alarado alot, but these are different, definitely their own thing. Alarado's burritos are a single, standard size and have a good bit of green chile or gravy inside. Lil Richard's has the two sizes and are a bit more savory and less saucy. Both are great in their own right. So swing by on the weekend and order a full-flavored breakfast burrito you won't forget!
