This was my first visit at Snooks and in Grand Junction, CO. I gave it 1 star only for the nice man who took my order and the potato salad. First, they overcharged me by $5. They kept closing the window so I had no way to speak to anyone about it. The food was just terrible. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and there was so much grease that 2 minutes after getting my order the bottom bun was soaked and I couldn't pick it up. The meat was flavorless except for a hint of smoke and lots of grease. The beans were so overly smoky flavored that it tasted fake, like liquid smoke and literally were so bad and overpowering that I had to spit them out and drink half a coke to rid my tongue of the flavor. The only good thing about it was the potato salad, but it's pretty hard to get that wrong. They definitely shouldn't call this Authentic Texas BBQ- Texans would be aghast at this correlation. read more

Perfectly smoked, I got the baby back ribs, pulled pork & brisket this time. Melts in your mouth. The ribs slid right off the bone. This local BBQ spot is a great place regardless of the occasion. We've had them cater retirements and provide breakfast burritos for our crew. The owner is so responsive to his customers, and we are all so satisfied with the quality of food he provides that it's poured over into my personal life with (at least) twice monthly trips out to Orchard Mesa to pick up dinner and feast at home. Snooks in Grand Junction Colorado really has some great barbecue. I purchased a three meat plate which includes two sides. I had the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. Ribs were super tender without the barbecue sauce--mind you, the bbq sauce was great. Pulled pork was also juicy and tender. The brisket was pretty good as well. And the owner and his staff and friendly, humble, and generous. Also has some awesome smokers. Bacon burned ends are a new twist on an old favorite. The brisket is on of the best I've tried! Their breakfast burritos are a must try! Hands down the best in GJ and even comparable to stuff you'd get in Texas, Kansas City, etc. Unassuming location with a walk up window in the back and a smoker going out front. They have a handful of meats and a couple of side options. I ordered some brisket with potato salad and beans. Brisket is phenomenal, cooked perfectly and sauce is tasty. Sides were good too. I heard about Snooks Bottom BBQ from my son, who had heard they had some good BBQ. Being from the Kansas City area, I always try and check out places when I hear they are legit. Snooks did not disappoint. I actually tried the food truck twice before writing this review. The first time I tried the 3 meat combo, which goes for $18, I chose the Brisket, Ribs and German Sausage. The combo comes with two sides, and I chose the mac n cheese and the coleslaw. The star of the show is the Brisket, as it should be in a place advertised as Texas BBQ. I am pretty sure I was given meat from the point as opposed to the flat, which happens to be my preferred cut. The brisket was tender, juicy and flavorful, with a good bark and smoke ring. The ribs and sausage were solid as well. The coleslaw was also very good, with a simple creamy vinegar base that was mild and tasty, while the veggies were still fresh and crisp. Very good. My second trip was bittersweet, as they were out of the bacon burnt ends and the garlic sausage, so I doubled up on the brisket and also had ribs - along with the same two sides. The brisket was once again phenomenal, with the same juicy, tenderness along with great flavor, bark and smoke ring. The only slight negative would be the mac n cheese - which has a good flavor, but did not have much cheese sauce leaving it a little dry. I am also not a big fan of the huge curly noodles, I am more of a traditional regular size elbow mac n cheese fan. Overall, I would highly recommend Snooks Bottom BBQ - great customer service and very good food at a hopefully up and coming establishment (they are starting to offer indoor seating at an old building that appears to maybe have been a car wash or something like that). read more

We heard from some people who would not shut up about this place so we thought we'd try it on a Saturday. My husband is a pretty good cook so it takes a lot to impress us. We had the sliced brisket sandwich, the Texas beans, the potato salad, and the cole slaw. We are NEVER going back to Rib City or Famous Dave's again. We support local business/non-chains when it warrants our support and this place will not let you down. They've got some tables set up, and they're soon going to move the smoker into one of the car wash bays so they can stay open in the winter. Go git you some barbeque!!! My friends and I had been talking about meeting up on our lunch breaks to get some BBQ for like a month now. We went yesterday (Tuesday) cuz we were too ignorant to check their hours before running over there. Wednesday came around and we made it happen. We had been edged by a BBQ establishment, one of the best edgings I've ever had! Brisket was tender and full of flavor. The pulled pork was delicious and still retained it's moisture very good! 2 meats and 2 sides for under $20 was a good lunch.
