We visited Tacoparty for a dinner after hiking at Colorado National Monument for the day. I was still suffering a bit from food poisoning from the day before, so this is essentially a collection of quick notes that aren't completely fleshed out as normal: Pork Belly Al Pastor Taco ($7) - Is this really pork belly? It's more of a fatty-ish pork, kind of tough, not really tender like I'd associate with a nicely cooked pork belly. Nice sprinkling of cojita for salty, savory bite. Tangy, vinegary, crunchy peppers and onions. The al pastor is quite fruity and very porky in taste. Avocado sauce drizzled on top? Served on a nicely pliable and toothsome flour tortilla. Hot Fried Chicken Taco ($7) - Chicken is very smoky. Aioli mixed with huitlacoche, gives creaminess and a flavor I can't describe that well. Perhaps a bit of earthy mushroominess? The chicken is only a tiny bit spicy; in fact, I'd hardly call it "hot fried chicken". The "fried" part is kind of a misnomer as well. I guess it's fried, but it's fried so lightly that the batter doesn't develop any sort of crisp or crunch. There are julienned apple pieces included that add a nice sweetness to the taco, and are actually way more crisp than the chicken. Crispy Shell Pulled Pork Taco ($6) - Ingredients very scant. Barely any meat inside, maybe half an ounce. It's pretty good pulled pork, moist, but not much there. Plenty of veggies to round out the taco. Skip this one meh. Duck Confit Tostada ($9) - Crunchy blue corn fried tortilla flat on the bottom, topped with a bounty of ingredients. Firstly a layer of soft and creamy cheese spread on the bottom. There's the duck - a bit scant, but adding nice meatiness. There's hominy, adding a bit of a firm bite. A bunch of veggies. Topped with ezapote, giving an anise-like flavor with some minty notes. Sliced serrano - at first I thought these were jalapeno, but then a fire started in my mouth. Overall, all the tacos served at Tacoparty are very well put together with nice clean flavors. I did find it strange that everything arrived lukewarm to cold. This place is very pricey, double or triple the cost of more hole-in-the-wall taco shops (after tax/service charge, it was $37 for 4 tacos and the portion size was so small, we ended up getting more food elsewhere). They do make up for the price difference somewhat in quality. I think there's a bit of identity confusion here though. They try to be upscale in pricing, plating, and ingredient sourcing, but it's fast casual/counter service. Still, for an upscale taco (but not necessarily experience), Tacoparty can't be beat. Note: Tacoparty charges an 18% service charge, which is advertised on the menu and the cashier informs all customers about it. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms

    Great diverse different tacos

The menu here seemed interesting, but when we actually took the first bites of the four tacos we'd ordered, it was clear it's actually amazing! Each had a distinct wonderful combination of flavors. Have eaten thousands of tacos in hundreds of places and can say that the offering at Tacoparty are the most original and amazing. Had we had longer, would have been tempted to stay and stuff ourselves trying everything on the menu. But not this time. All the staff we interacted with were friendly, full of information and made is feel like welcome regulars even though was our first visit. Outstanding place. Loved Tacoparty!

Clockwise from top left: Hand battered cod, pulled pork crispy taco, duck confit and hot honey chicken. All amazing!

This place was highly recommended so we went for lunch. Wow! Easily the most creative and delicious tacos we have ever eaten. Options ranged from pulled pork to hand dipped cod to duck confit, but also a hot honey chicken and a beef brisket taco. We have even returned to try the rest of the menu, including the renowned guacamole. Please don't miss this place if you're visiting like we are...truly unique! Cute and trendy place, too. Forewarned- they do charge an automatic 18% gratuity but the service is really good.

Okay Grand Junction food scene, I see you!!! Tacoparty really exceeded my expectations in the taco realm. I am generally a medium fan of tacos. I like them but I don't love them. Tacoparty out here making me feel some type of way!!! I had the cauliflower and the rockfish taco. Both were extremely tasty. The cauliflower taco was so flavorful with its mole and the cauliflower was cooked to a perfect texture. The rockfish had a delicious slaw and sauce and the flour tortilla rounded it out. 10/10 on these tacos. Okay let's talk about that guac. Wowie. Furikake? On guac? Eff yeah. I would highly recommend a trip here if you're in town! It's technically a work-a-rant since you have to order at the counter but I will forgive them for this as the food is just so freaking delish.

Tacoparty, STAT! I'm a HUGE fan of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (aka Triple D) with host Guy Fieri! When I watched an episode about Tacoparty in a neighboring city an hour away...I just had to go!!! Let me just say...I was in total awe of the episode and was literally salivating over the tacos and homemade guacamole, but to actually experience it IRL was AH-MAZING!! First off, the place was getting busy by the minute, the vibe was super cool and the overall restaurant and decor was my kinda place! Plenty of seating, a cool bar and I loved the artwork and skateboards adorning the walls! On to the food! We ordered some chips and guac (I'll get back to that). For the tacos, we got the hot fried chicken, crispy cauliflower, pork belly al pastor and the yam calabacitas. Holy mother of street tacos! They were all so delish and actually a lot bigger and more filling than I expected! And that guac...OMG...it was almost too pretty to eat...apple, radish pico, serrano, herbs and amaranth furikake...google it ;-) The service was excellent and quite honestly, they were the best tacos I've ever had! Highly recommend! Your BEST Tacoparty awaits!

Hate to say it but lived in GJ my whole life and finally made it to TacoParty. Started with the guacamole. And it is a must it is not your regular guacamole. Please see picture. Tacos are not your normal tacos either. But the favor is unmatched. Presentation is what you would find at a high end restaurant and the quality of the food is high class. No wonder the head chef was up for a James Beard award. That is all I need to say.

Soft taco: cauliflower taco - incredible! Hard taco: pork - wouldn't get again

I considered giving them a three only because I didn't love most of what I got....but that cauliflower taco was so incredible I had to bump to a 4. I really wanted to try the pork belly taco but they were out of that by the time we arrived, which to their benefit was close to closing time. The chips were really good, nice and crunchy but the salsa wasn't our fave. For being a roasted salsa it was good, but that's just not our personal favorite kind of salsa. The skinny marg was odd...it had a weird flavor we couldn't quite put our finger on. And also tasted of very heavy fake lime juice...would def not order again. Overall we will definitely be back, but I will be trying others things in hopes of liking them as much as that delicious cauliflower taco.

We stop in at TacoParty as a must when in GJ. The food is just so fresh and flavorful and the staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. We love the soft serve ice cream, the cocktails, the great atmosphere and food. One of the foodie bright spots on the Western Slope!

First time going to it. Really cool spot but terrible pricing. 7$ for one taco that is pretty small.

They got all types of meats so your classic asada, adobada and carinitas all the way to your tripes, cheek, and seafood. So defintely I would order a good selection of tacos of whatever your heart desires, so like I'd say if youre just regular hungry I think 2-3 will do you fine but if you a real foodie I mean load that puppy up with 5-6 tacos you'll be fine trust. Besides the quality and flavor and meat which is the most important, I really want to bring attention to two things. Firstly the garnishes, I LOVE that they loaded up each tacos with a healthy amount of onions and cilantro. I LIVE FOR THAT. Also each taco comes with two little tortillas so its like your got your main tortilla, and a lil insurance shell to make sure you hold your lil hefty bois. Secondly, the sauces. Red and verde are the classic and personally big verde guy here but dude the pineapple habanero sauce?!? goodness gracious in all things that are amazing, that was the ONE. I straight up used like a quarter of the bottle I felt. Look it could be a mix of how hungry I was after the trek and the pineapple habanero blowin my socks off, but this was defintely an amazing lil taco experience and bet if Im back in town Im stopping by.

Of course I had to add salsa, because... obviously Patti went with the Huevos Rancheros and really liked it Tyler tried the Chile Relleno and said it was the best one he's had in forever -- bold statement, but he's sticking to it. I've had the Chile Relleno too, and I get it. Fresh poblano, Oaxacan cheese, refried black beans, sour cream, pickled onion, cilantro, cotija... just yummy. I also tried the Oaxacan taco and carne asada taco, and both were absolutely on point -- juicy, flavor-packed, and straight-up And yes, Dad's jalapeño sauces are a must. The green and red both add that perfect little kick And a big win--they've got a great selection of gluten-free options (clearly marked), so it's easy to navigate if that matters to you And since it's a Mexican restaurant, I had to partake in a margarita I went with the Pinky -- Dulce Vida Grapefruit Tequila, Naranja, fresh lime juice, and fresh grapefruit juice. Very tasty. Big shoutout to Sasha at the bar super knowledgeable, great vibes, and clearly a fellow GJ foodie with great recommendations. Service has been great all around both times. Solid food, great date night spot, and worth the drive. Just my opinion... don't come at me
