We've been to many Mexican restaurants and this is definitely our favorite. My partner got the 1/4 chicken meal and it was easily the most flavorful and well cooked chicken I've ever had. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Grand Junction. I have work out here every once and a while and I always must stop here after work for a bite to eat. I walked up to the window where you had to place your order with the hostess, but this time was different. She popped her head out and stated come on in and we will take your order. I was like OMG we finally back to normal LOL. I remember the last time I was here; you couldn't go inside because of covid but this time in 2022, we were pandemic free with no COVID rules! Being inside for the first time, I was amazed at how clean the restaurant was and how the place had a few tables in there if you wanted to sit down and eat or wait for your order while they made your order to go. I was greeted by the hostess, and she was very nice and attentive in explaining the menu and taking my order. I proceeded to order the Half Chicken Combo which comes with Beans and Rice. My partner didn't come with me, so I ordered the 3 tacos meal that comes with Beans and Rice plus 2 more tacos on the side for a total of five. (Two Al Pastor, two Carne Asada, and 1 pollo taco). The wait for the food was around 10 minutes but once the food was ready, we realized it was worth the wait! Once we received our food, the smell was overbearing, OVERBEARING WITH SMELLS OF JOY! The taste of the chicken was so yummy, full of juices, and flavored to perfection. The chicken was very tender, and I enjoyed every bite. The beans and rice, I ate so fast all I remember about the experience was the fact that I was upset that I didn't order more. I was like Did I EVEN CHEW?!?!? I had to pass on my tacos because they had onions on them, but she ate three of the tacos before we even left the Grand Junction Area. It was her second time eating at Pollo Azado but doesn't remember eating there the first time because she says the tacos were that goood! This time around she was able to enjoy them fully. My partner said that there was so much flavor in every bite. The tortilla even had a nice little crunch that just added to how good the tacos were with the flavor being tasteful. This is one the go to spots in Grand Junction. The funny thing about the entire experience is that she is not a fan of chicken tacos at all but that was her favorite taco!
