I had ordered the veggie pad Thai (3 stars) and a few pieces of sashimi; everything was ridiculously fresh! I was so impressed with the sashimi and it's taste for being a "to-go order", the pieces were still cold. The pad Thai was done perfectly and the spice level was right on, I've ordered three star many times at other restaurants only to have them add no spice at all. Sabai Thai is my go to for good Thai food and many options. My favorite here is the Golden Dragon roll which comes topped with Mango! I also love getting their Basil Fried rice with chicken and shrimp. It is tasty and you can choose the spice level you want. For dessert my go to is the Mango Sticky Rice. It has a creamy coconut cream sauce topped with mango. So delicious. Their Wonton soup is also good along with the Tom Yum. read more

We were not looking for mediocre food last night, but there it was at Sabai Thai & Sushi, where the gross sashimi tasted like it was just unfrozen, and the sushi had a miniscule amount of fish. However, the best part of our experience was our aggressive waitress, who with nearly 10 minutes before close announced it was "time to go." She then retrieved plastic to-go containers and without being asked, boldly grabbed the curry bowl out of my friend's hands and proceeded to empty it into one of the plastic containers. It was one of those moments where all you can do is just shake your head because the behavior exhibited by the waitress was so rude it was stunning. read more

I just found my favorite Thai place! Small little restaurant with such a friendly atmosphere and personality. You get greeted by the servers and immediately they offer their help. I was ordering to go, and let me tell you I was so lost with the menu. They have tons of options that it took me time to decide. One of the girls was kind enough to give me recommendations and accommodate my request for certain plates. Food: Pineapple Fried Rice. It is amazing!! It's a sweet and salty combination of flavors. The quality of the meat very tender and flavorful. Also it comes inside of a pineapple which I think is an unique way of serving it. I came to Sabai Thai for dinner with my dear friend Seher. We wanted to do a low key casual restaurant which catered to Asian food enthusiasts like us. We both love Thai food so ordered only Thai cuisine, however they have sushi as well. The restaurant is small with about 10-12 tables and about 7 tables had customers in them. Seems like a local favorite with great service and good Thai food. I liked the booth seating with lamps above, gave a intimate and comfortable experience. The server was sweet with explaining the menu, level of spices, ingredients/organic items etc. With yelp check in, I was able to get Thai iced tea, which was prefect in sweetness and taste. We ordered drunken noodles with shrimp. Also we ordered red curry with white rice. Both things we ordered were level 3 out of 5. I thought the level was good with the right level of spice. Both entrees were good. Next time I will like to try the stir fry option or sushi. Overall a great family owned restaurant with good food.~ read more

While the food is always delicious and fresh I can honestly say that our Mother's Day dinner was beyond disappointing. We ordered delivery and the food arrived earlier than expected; a plus. Surprised by the tiny little box for an $88+ meal, I was shocked at the portions. Meals ordered for 3 people...barely enough for 1. When I called to discuss the issue of an almost empty soup cup, a single sliver of fish as an "order" at $3.50/4.00 each respectively, there was dead silence. I love this restaurant! I have ordered so many different things off the menu and everything from the papaya salad and shumai to the pad Thai and curries to the sushi is delicious. They aren't afraid of spice too! I usually get a 3 star spicy for my food, but sometimes I'll get 4 star (be warned it's nose-running, eye watering goodness). My boyfriend who has a normal tolerance for spice is happy getting 2 star spiciness. We order from here a couple times a month and they never disappoint! Walking into this place we were a little concerned that it was located next to a pawn shop, but once inside we were transported to Thailand with the various smells and sights, including the Sushi chef in the middle of the restaurant. We ordered a shrimp tempura roll to share and thoroughly enjoyed it. One person in our group said it was the best shrimp roll she's ever had! We also had several rice and noodle dishes: pad thai, lo main with chicken, basil fried rice with chicken, drunken noodles with grilled tofu, and a gluten-free stir-fry chicken with vegetables. This last entrée was made with a rich, flavorful brown sauce. Judging by the clean plates we handed back to the waitress after our meal, it seems that everyone enjoyed their dinners. The slightly undersized portions, as compared to other similar restaurants, probably also contributed to our finishing our meals. I requested the addition of pineapple to my chicken fried rice, and I was expecting juicy grilled pieces of pineapple. Instead, the pineapple was hard and lacked flavor. It did not seem to be cooked at all. That was perhaps the biggest disappointment of the evening. The waitress was very attentive and stopped by our table multiple times to be sure our needs were being met. The restaurant is quite small and is pretty popular, so reservations are suggested. I ordered the escalor sushi, wasn't impressed. Although it is a very simple sushi the escalor didn't taste great. Not like the escalor I'm use too where it melts in your mouth. I used to always come to this place because their drunken noodles was the best and I even enjoyed some of their curries. However, it seems that the quality and quantity of the food has gone down over the years. The portion sizes are very small now and it doesn't justify the price of what they are now. I once had ordered a fried fish item and it was one piece of fish barely the side of a hand. It was also the most expensive item we bought from the menu, so it was pretty ridiculous. The fried rice is slightly bland and the sushi rolls taste as if the rice are a few days old. I think the only think worth ordering is the drunken noodles, which still has much of its taste. It honestly disappoints me given that Thai food is my favorite cuisine. If you are planning on eating Thai, I would recommend other places like Payathai. They have the standard rolls every other restaurant has. Nothing really "signature".. The ala cart menu is way overpriced even by comparison to high end sushi restaurants standards. So I give that a 1 star. Don't expect anything really creative. But you can count on good service and very fresh sushi. Although the rolls are very small. I don't leave feeling full and satisfied . I really hope they step up their game. They have way too much local competition that can easily smoke them out of business. read more

I came to Sabai Thai with my friend Rabia for a relaxing night out. My first impressions were that it was a small and intimate setting with only 8 or so tables. They have a sushi bar, but we decided to stick to Thai food. Everything is made organically and 80 percent of it is made in house according to the waitress. We ordered the red curry with white rice and drunken noodles- both dishes with shrimp. We ordered the spice level at a 3 out of 5, which to me seemed more like a 4, for someone who is used to spice! The food was excellent and had a lot of flavor. They had run out of hot chili oil so we couldn't make it even spicier. Our waitress was friendly and the time between ordering and when our food came was approx. 30 minutes. The two dishes we ordered was more than enough food for the two of us and we had a lot leftover. I've had my fair share of Thai food in different restaurants. Thai food is my by far my favorite ethnic cuisine so I had to try this place out since it was less than 5 minutes away from home. I recommend coming during lunch time because it's such a great deal! The lunch special comes with a clear vegetable soup and egg roll. I ordered the shrimp pad thai. The portion is generous and will leave you full or with leftovers depending on your appetite. As for the taste, the noodles were tasty but the shrimp could have used more salt or some type of seasoning. The noodles had more flavor than the shrimp. My friend and I were celebrating a special occasion so we made room for dessert and ordered the banana tempura with ice cream. There's always something about fried dessert that's delicious. The best in the area period. The new owners since September may have had a hiccup getting off the starting block as indicated by a couple of reviews but I can assure you the food is excellent and the service is top notch now. We have gone twice in the last week as the first trip was so awesome that we asked to meet the chef! Little Jane our sever brought out Wit owner chef from the kitchen, a more gracious and humble guy you cannot find. LOL Nancy asked him if he would quit and come be our personal chef. The summer roles are super light and as fresh as can be however at almost 8 dollars per 2 they are a tad overpriced. Nobody can beat Pho Vu for taste size and price but these are yummy. Great peanut sauce! The pad thai we had each time once with chicken and once with shrimp with added fried tofu. Very generous portions, a real tasty plate perfect for splitting. Pardon the cliché but the masaman curry was to die for. I literally felt like using my straw to suck up every bit of the sauce. It was perfectly spiced and left a pleasant buzz on my lips for at least an hour after the meal. For desert we had fried banana and it was awesome. We asked for and was given complimentary rice to take home with the leftovers too. Pleasant friendly service, Little Jane remembered our names from the first visit and also what we had ordered. The food is good but I'm so disappointed in a delivery item. I paid 17 dollars for a tuna taro and got a tiny handful of broken chips and like 1/2 cup of tuna/avocado. It's a child's portion. Definitely bigger when you order at the restaurant. So disappointing for that price wow. read more

My husband and I were both blown away by the fresh ingredients, amazing flavors and overall quality of the dishes we got. Though we didn't get the full dine-in experience, we still experienced fast and friendly service. He ordered a duck noodle dish and I got a garlic chicken stir-fry.. amazing. Level 3 was the perfect amount of spice for us, but if you're more sensitive to spicy food, air on the side of caution when choosing that.
