This was a mixed experience with some items being good and others failing. Steamed vegetable dumplings had a hard exterior that negated what might have been good and these were not worth eating. Spring rolls were basic and not much more. However a good Banh Mi sandwich served on a crispy roll compensated for the poor items. The sandwich had fresh vegetables and a subtle sweetness that added flavor without overwhelming the other ingredients. A shrimp with thin noodles had poor quality shrimp and while I'm not exactly expecting too much from the price point these were really bad but the noodles (vermicelli) were fine with and made even better with the slightly spicy sauce. Another noodle dish with chicken was similar but an improvement - simply because the chicken was better than the shrimp. This is probably more of a 3.5 rating. read more

Delicious Pho is definitely found here. The place is huge and usually empty. So great for groups or if you like a more quiet but open space. The Thai boba tea is one of the best I've had. The management and staff here, however, can be very dismissive. Obviously there's a language barrier but they're very awkward about it and even rude at times. Came here recently on a cold night.. the pho was delicious and had tons of options to choose from and pretty good prices in my opinion. They were busy for a week day night but food came quick and had no issues with service. I had never been here before and didn't ask any real questions, next time I'll ask for less noodles because the beef, broth and extras are my favorite part. Let's start with the best features: the chicken wings (and drumsticks) were among the best I've ever head. Plump, juicy, succulent and fresh in a mildly spicy sauce. My friend and I both ordered item #36, Seafood Pho. And that's where things got strange. The waiter approved my friend's selection of a small serving. But she tried to discourage me from ordering a large bowl. When I shook my head, (being "blessed" with a hearty appetite) she came back with three bowls: small, medium and large. She placed the palm of her hand in each bowl and insisted I order a smaller size. I did not understand her reverse sales technique. Wouldn't she want to sell the more expensive bowl? I had skipped breakfast. I stuck to my guns. When our soups arrived, my friend's had shrimp, calamari, scallops, etc. as listed on the menu. When I asked the waitress why my bowl only contained shrimp, she said that was on me, because that's what I ordered. She pointed to a bottle of sauce on the table and said, "If you want more taste, use that." To be fair, there was a generous amount of shrimp in my bowl. Our soups also came with a delightful side of lime, fresh mint sprigs and bean sprouts to mix in. I would probably rate this restaurant four or five stars with a different waiter. You might think a 4 star review of a place with pho in its name requires one to have actually eaten pho here. We didn't. I actually think if I did, this might be a 5 star Vietnamese restaurant. I'm happily hoping to come back and make it so. We stopped in for lunch. I'd called first to make sure they were open for lunch and had inside dining. It's been difficult to find an Asian restaurant lately with both. (I've been correctly some of the Yelp listings that say they're open when they're not.) We started with a shared spring (summer) roll with shrimp. It was perfectly and tightly wrapped. It had a nice amount of shrimp. And when you bit into the roll, it didn't fall apart. The dipping sauce was more hoisin than peanut with peanuts sprinkled on the top. But we liked it. We decided to get Banh Mi sandwiches. They have several options, but we both chose the roast pork. I opted for no jalapeño peppers and no Mayo on my sandwich. The French bread was nice and crusty. Inside, the roast pork was thick lean slices of meat. The crisp veggies and cilantro gave it character. I added some hoisin to make each bite perfect. Just exactly what I'd been craving. This place is a keeper. So glad they are back open all the time now. And yes, I'll be trying their rice plates, noodle plates, and soups sometime in the near future. read more

We came by last night as we were in the mood for some Vietnamese and once again thanks to my trusty Yelp reviewers! On entering we did notice that the place was clean and neat appearing. We were seated immediately and our server Diego was very polite and helpful which made our dinner all the more enjoyable! My wife surprised me when she suggested Pho for dinner. The few times in the past I have had it I loved it. We began with an order of fried egg rolls. Rolls were crunchy on outside and flavor full on inside. I thought it was more similar to a spring roll found at Chinese restaurants. Vietnamese Pho 79 is our local go-to Vietnamese restaurant and for us, it is always a good choice for takeout. Never actually sat down and ate here, but there are plenty of tables. We usually call in the order and a typical order consists of standard Vietnamese dishes: Spring Rolls, Pho, and vermicelli noodle dishes. Spring rolls are always fresh, and my wife will wrestle you for the last one. Pho and vermicelli can be had in a large variety of ways and by now, I think we have tried them all. I prefer the grilled chicken, and the in-laws prefer port/shrimp. The pro-tip for this place though, is the chicken wings with Fish Sauce. Trust me on this- it totally adds a new and crazy spin to wings, and you will find yourself ordering these every time. You can spark up the heat as well, so if you like buffalo wings, then you to give them a try. You're welcome. Ordering over the phone is always a quick and easy experience and everyone working there is just great to deal with. The rating of this place i do not understand at all. The server was not attentive did not care about our table, but i m not even taking into consideration with my rating. We ordered the spring roll which was cold and did not have other flavor than the mint. We did not eat it. We also had the steamed dumpling appetizer which was so bad, we did not eat it. I would not order anything here but soup. The only reason the review is not a 0 star place is the soup. Soups were delicious but the chicken soup's meat tasted like chicken, you can tell its cheap quality. 4/5 overall I ordered a grilled pork banh mi sub! It had all your Favorite toppings: cilantro, pickled daikon/carrots, jalapeños. The meat was flavored very well and the bread was fresh and soft. I haven't had a banh me in a long time! The service was great! The employees were super nice! I just did a quick pick up order so I didn't get much interaction. They prepped my sandwich quickly, though! My only comment is that there was very little meat in the sandwich. I feel like they over flavored the meat to compensate for the limited amount of meat within the sub. But it's still a pretty good sub. It was $6 and it is better than most banh mi subs I get around here. I'd give it a try! I'll come back and try other options!
