A shu mai, fried pork spring rolls, and the fresh spring rolls. All delicious. We ordered a pho meatball meal which was a huge portion. They were very generous with the meat serving. We also ordered a pork chop vermicelli bowl and a seafood noodle soup. The pork chop was darker than I thought but it was marinated perfectly allowing the flavors to come through. I was hungover from a full day of Sunday Funday with the girls, and needed a good pick me up. I was in the mood for something warm and pho was the answer. This is located in the plaza near the Boynton Mall, so it was great for my errands afterward. I stopped in around 12pm and there was no one there but the service was so welcoming and nice. I decided to order the pho with the well done eye round beef with all of the fixings. It came out pretty fast - and it looked so delicious. It was flavorful, I could not get enough of it. The beef was very tender and not rubbery at all. The addition of the fresh veggies and herbs were the chef's kiss. They provide a generous amount of broth and meat, so I was not complaining at all. I felt like they took amazing care of me and ensuring I was satisfied with my meal. This was some of the best pho I've had that left me wanting to come back very soon. The Rundown: a hidden gem with a fantastic staff, great food, and cozy atmosphere! The Review: went here for a food adventure to experience a different local place. Tucked away in the Plaza it may not seem like much but if you have any interest in Asian food it is a must! The inside is very cozy with a small, unique layout. Outdoor seating is available at times it looks like for those who might be concerned about things being so intimate. The staff were very attentive and friendly - truly happy to have you and offer their thoughts so you can be satisfied with what you order. Even members of the kitchen team came out to check on things. We had an egg roll appetizer which was small yet flavorful offering a great start. Our meals were very sizeable and well presented. I went with phó and it was very filling and the herbal tray was well overstocked and visibly fresh! There was a quiet man who appeared to be an observing partner. It turned out he was the manager and while he did not say much, at the end of our experience his personality really showed and it was a perfect end. He took the time to sit with us and see how everything was. Incredibly witty and absolutely hilarious, making you feel like family which explained why the team functioned so well. Walked in here on a whim, wanting some dumplings. It's a small place with about 10 booths/tables. The manager met me with a very friendly greeting and multiple compliments about my attire. I heard him complimenting other customers in a similar manner so perhaps thats just his "thing". I was dispappointed that they didn't really have a lunch menu, but I decided to order the pork dumplings and crispy spring rolls. The dumplings were very reminiscent of Chinese shumai and the crispy spring rolls were tasty, although very very very small. I've eaten many crispy spring rolls in my life and these were the smallest I've ever seen. Aside from that, the dumplings and spring rolls were tasty. Personally, I would probably not be going back again because of the lack of a lunch menu and because of the size of the spring rolls. read more

It's been a while since I have Vietnamese cuisine, so I decided to stop by Pho Vn. It was a very unplanned visit, so I was glad that the restaurant was not too crowded and we were able to be seated upon walking in. From the moment you park, the place gives off a very relaxed and cozy feel with some plants on the outside with a few tables to seat at, and then about 8 or 10 more tables inside. It is fairly small. But what it lacks in size, it more than delivers in great service and flavor! Everyone was super pleasant and the food was delicious! The menu is quite extensive, you can select from fun boba drinks, to your typical appetizers like the summer rolls we ordered, and a few options for specialty dishes, including over 10 pho styles. Of course I ordered the Hue Style Noodle since it was the only pho I had not tried before. Surprisingly, it was not as spicy as I expected, but the size of the dish did surprise me greatly as it was big enough for 2 people. You get some delicious and tender lemongrass beef that I loved, along with soft tendon, pork ham, pork hock, and the tray of fresh herbs and bean sprouts. One regret... I wish I was more hungry! I wasn't able to finish all our noodles, or try any more dishes. Great excuse to have to come back! read more

I really liked this place when it first opened, but things have apparently changed. Don't know if it's new owners or what, our last takeout was pretty sub par. The food lacked flavor. We are Vietnamese food junkies from a largely Vietnamese region. We had Bahn Mi, which was excellent, as were the shrimp spring rolls. The Pho was a bit weak; very common in FL as a bone broth requires at least 24 hours to cook, and nobody does that here. Was still good, but could have had a deeper flavor. read more

We gave pho vn another try and what a pleasant surprise! Same decor but we were served by a wonderful waiter who described the food and promptly delivered our meal. I had a seafood pho. It was full of protein and served hot. The accompanying sprouts and greens were fresh. The broth was full of flavor and delicious. My companion had the shrimp pad Thai and he wasn't disappointed; a nice sized portion and delectable shrimp. My opinion has changed. We highly recommend this little gem. I used to love coming here, ownership has changed along with the entire restaurant. Each time I come there is a problem with what I have ordered. I've come and ordered the red curry with beef, the dish comes out and it's chicken and I'm given no rice. This time I just ate the dish and didn't bring it to the attention of the workers. Another time, my friend orders rice noodles but gets ramen noodles in their soup. This most recent time it took a terribly long time to get our spring rolls. When we entered each table was dirty but the man ushered us to sit anyways. I watched the man make the spring rolls, using no gloves, and transfer back to touching other things in the restaurant. Hand hygiene here is questionable. Our Tom Yum soups come and they're ramen noodles after we asked for rice noodles. The owner fixed this for us but horribly inconvenient after we waited already so long for our food. The bean sprouts we had were rotten and they no longer give jalapeños. I had to ask one time and the owner brought me out pickled jalapeños from a jar... this is borderline criminal. Every place I go to there are fresh jalapeños. Also, limes frequently are not given here either. I'm disappointed with the direction this place is going. For a $17 soup that isn't that big, I expect more. read more

If you live near Boynton Beach, Pho VN is a must-visit. While it may seem like a typical Vietnamese restaurant, it offers exceptional Thai cuisine. In 2023, Tim Sathonpanich, a Thai native with 15 years of hospitality experience at Bluefin Thai and Sushi in Parkland, purchased the restaurant. Although the original owner still makes the pho broth--excellent but unique--the focus is now on Thai flavors. Pho VN is a standout Thai-style noodle and curry shop, despite its name and proximity to Rice Thai in the same plaza. It's uncommon to see a Thai restaurant with Vietnamese influence at least in the US, the inverse tends to be more the case. Tim's background in hospitality shines through in the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service at Pho VN. The restaurant maintains a cozy and casual vibe, making it perfect for both quick lunches and leisurely dinners. Tim's commitment to customer satisfaction is evident, reminiscent of his tenure at Bluefin Thai and Sushi. Chef Tuk, from the Isan region of Thailand, is the culinary force behind Pho VN. Previously the chef at About Bangkok in Coral Springs (which closed in 2023 after 40 years in business) she brings authentic Thai flavors to every dish. Together, Tim and Chef Tuk create a dining experience that blends exceptional service with outstanding Thai cuisine. We started with fresh "pork meatball" spring rolls (goi cuon, aka "summer rolls" a Vietnamese item) filled with a sweet, skinless, loose Chinese-style sausage, grilled to perfection. The dipping sauce had a delightful chile kick and plenty of shredded pickled vegetables, setting a high bar for the meal. Rachel enjoyed a mixed seafood and pork egg noodle soup with chicken broth, fish fillet, shrimp, squid, and in-house Chinese roast pork, along with hardboiled eggs. Although more of a Thai or Chinese-style soup, it was delicious and served in a huge bowl, accompanied by basil, raw baby spinach, and bean sprouts. This combination added an interesting twist to the traditional accompaniments. I asked to try the pho broth--it's cooked for about two days, but it does not have a strong anise and dried pho spices flavor, which can be overwhelming in many places. It's delicate and soothing; you can taste the bone broth above anything else. Different, yes, from what other places in South Florida serve, but very good. I'm more inclined to order the chicken broth egg noodle soups that Rachel got from a personal taste perspective, but it is an excellent broth, nevertheless. I ordered a green curry with beef and specified spicy. It was extremely spicy, featuring ground-up red bird chiles, extra chopped red chiles, and pickled jalapenos on the side. Trust me when I tell you that if you want something hot here and ask for it, it will be hot. It's a great curry, and I loved that it had baby orange bell peppers and no green bells. The restaurant offers green, red, and panang curries; I wouldn't hesitate to order any of them. We also had a medium-spicy fried tofu pad Thai, which was saucy, well-seasoned, and had a prominent tamarind flavor--one of the best pad Thai dishes I've had recently. The restaurant offers a variety of Thai-style noodle dishes and fried rice, which looked excellent. The fried rice with roast pork that I saw being served to another table looked particularly appetizing. Tuk brought out a green papaya salad, which was authentic and flavorful, but we were too full to enjoy it fully. It had the perfect balance of sour, spicy, and sweet that is characteristic of a great Thai papaya salad. We finished our meal with mango sticky rice and sweet condensed milk, which was amazing. The mango was perfectly ripe, and the sticky rice was just the right consistency. Pho VN also offers a selection of boba teas. We took ours to go--Rachel had a milk tea, and I had matcha, both with honey boba. They were super sweet, as expected, and a delightful way to end the meal. If we lived closer, we'd probably eat here at least once a month. Since it's only 13 minutes from my mother-in-law's place in Boynton, we look forward to future visits.
