    Fried Spare Ribs

We took my father-in-law to this delicious Laotian place for dinner. The place was mostly empty, but they were doing a steady takeout business. We had the fried spare ribs from the Laotian street food menu -- they are unhealthy, but so good. We had the Hong Kong Noodle Soup and the Taiwanese Ramen, which were both quite delicious.,

I read about this new restaurant and decided to try it. It is a Thai-Lao-Sushi restaurant located in a large shopping center at the corner of Boynton Beach Blvd and Military trial. Thy have 5 combo sushi & sashimi lunch specials. I chose the Combo D, 8 piece California Roll, 3 pieces sushi, and 6 pieces Sashimi for $16 plus choice of salad or soup. Fresh , nice portions and very good.

Tried a new cuisine and I couldn't be more excited. I was in the area looking for some Asian food and saw Masa just opened. They have Laotian food that I never tried. Many Thai places include sushi as well in South Florida but adding Laotian is unique. I went for an early dinner on a Friday and the place was quiet but there were a few tables occupied. Upon entering, Su received me and immediately seated me and when I told her I don't eat beef but wanted to try some Laotian food, she recommended me this Khao Piak Sen Traditional Lao chewy rice noodles. I took a first tasting of the soup and fell in love. The broth was just so flavorful. Su brought me hot sauce and chili oil on the side for extra kick but the broth was good as is and I didn't need to add anything. The noodles were smooth, chewey like tapioca balls and she told me that they differ from the Udong noodles as the style of preparation is different plus they specifically use Laotian rice which gives that unique taste. The owners have been in the restaurant business for 46 years and they closed a restaurant in Boca and opened this Masa. Su is so enthusiastic and guides you like a grandma. She is the sweetest lady ever. Come for food but enjoy her hospitality.

We were a group of 24 We occupied a section of the venue which was set up appropriately for our group to sit at long tables but great for us to talk and get to know each other. The dinner was completely paid for by the Club because of our hard work and dedication. This was a casual place that offered liquor and a nice variety of appetizers and entrees. I had a large hot sake and Paul had a glass of pinot Noir Both were good. Appetizers were placed on our tables to start: A11. APPETIZER PLATTER $12.95 Spring rolls, prawn rolls, chicken satay, golden flower & crispy tofu. (2 each) with plum sauce, Thai peanut dipping sauce and a 3rd vegetable condiment. All were delicious Paul had S1. TOM YUM SOUP Choice of: Chicken breast, Beef, Pork, or Tofu $5.50 he had the chicken. It was steamy hot and packed with chicken. I waited a long time for my entree but it was well worth it... I had SP7. SPICY MIXED SEAFOOD $26.95 A mixture of shrimp, squid, scallops and salmon, stir fried with mixed vegetables and chili paste. Served on a sizzling platter. I was impressed at its presentation and wonderful flavor. We all enjoyed the food and now we have a decent Thai restaurant in the area to add to the top of our list.
