I want to start off by saying that the decor at my wedding turned out amazing and the production team was so great and sweet. However, the process of working with Saba decor was not great. I had booked them in mid-August of last year for my 2025 April wedding at Saratoga Springs. I had booked them based on their quote of approx $5500. Since it was an outdoor venue I asked for minimal decor and no mandap as we were not having a religious ceremony. When I began talking to Sania to finalize the decor approx 3 or 4 months before the wedding I also enquired about decor for a pre wedding event we were planning. However, in a couple weeks we were not able to continue with the pre wedding event as we were originally thinking and so we had to cancel the decor. There was no contract signed for this event. When I relayed this to Sania she responded rather aggressively and very rudely. Since then I could see a deterioration in communication and interest in my wedding. Another issue I encountered was lack of transparency in cost. When we were talking about ideas for the wedding decor Sania would not candidly tell the prices. She would only send an invoice at the end of the convo via email. She initially showed $18,000 on the invoice for the wedding after we brainstormed ideas. This was a huge jump for me from my original quote. I did expect some increase from the original quote but not over 3 times. She also did not do any brainstorming with me on ideas for decor or give any suggestions. I had to do all the work in finalizing everything. Even down to each and every candle we used. And if I left it to her she would put a huge amounts for everything and would increase prices subsequently. Finally, in order to reduce cost I let her know that I am open to using fake florals. She completely disregarded that multiple times or said that they don't use fake florals until randomly she suggested it herself. Very confusing. We ended up using a mix of real and fake florals. Overall Saba Decor was the most difficult vendor to work with. They should respect all their clients regardless of their budgets or should only take clients who are willing to spend a minimum of 15K on their budget. I have also heard from some community members in the Bay Area on how it has been difficult to work with Saba Decor and how they have to negotiate hard for fair prices. I was a bit skeptical about the decor being worth it when I was quoted how much it was going to cost for my wedding (although apparently Saba is considered a more affordable decorator lol), but I was floored by how well the job Sania and her team did for our wedding. Sania really understands the nuances of decorating. She recommended things that I would have not thought of that made a big difference. For example, adding additional background flowers in sight lines for the photographer, so the photos have prettier backdrops. The only critique I have for Sania is that the process for brainstorming ideas was slow since she mainly used her Instagram to find photos to show us for inspiration, which required a lot of waiting while she scrolled to find photos. They did a beautiful job on the decor, florals, and rentals for our three day Indian fusion wedding for 175+ guests, and worked very hard to deliver on my vision and make sure each event's decor was unique. She and her team responded promptly via email and even text (if it was urgent), and you can trust they will not let things slip through the cracks. Sania is creative, easy to work with, and really cares about making your event the best it can be. She will guide you to what she thinks will work best, but is flexible to tailor things to your preferences and budget. I spent many hours in her office finalizing designs and she was so patient with me (and my 50 page design doc), willing to rework things when I changed my mind. She will draw out design proposals so you can imagine how it might look, and will also do one flower and tablescape preview so you can make edits in person. We could not have been happier with having Sania as our decorator for our wedding! Her experience, talent, and professionalism paid off as she executed our shared vision almost perfectly. Saba Decor provides awesome services, and Sania in particular is exactly the meticulous planner you want on your vendor team! She helped us think through every detail and plan for everything we'd end up needing. We used Saba specifically for non-floral sangeet decor but they do great floral decor as well, and they're familiar with many popular Bay Area venues. Visiting the showroom in person to make our final decor choices was super helpful. We also appreciated the speedy setup and take-down because it meant we didn't have to book the venue starting 3-4 hours before the event just for setup time; Saba's team was done in 1.5-2 hours. (Other decorators can take much longer, based on initial quotes from conversations with other vendors.) When choosing Saba as a decorator, you're also getting a great planner as well, since Sania helps you think through and plan for the flow of your event. She even did a walk-through of the venue to talk through the flow of events with us. We appreciated how professional and responsive she was. This included her following up with other vendors who were a bit slower to respond at times. Sania's attention to detail can mean that she keeps adding items/services to your draft invoice, but she will also be honest with you about what's really needed and help you stick to your budget. For example, lighting for the Sangeet backdrop is needed for an evening event (because it's dark out). We wouldn't have thought of it ourselves, but it was definitely needed. The attention to detail also helps offload your own tasks on the day of the event. For example, dropping off the bangles to be provided as gifts to guests at the Sangeet meant that Saba could do the display setup for us and we didn't have to worry about it day of. TLDR: Unapologetically unprofessional and flaky with our initial consultation appointments, not considerate of my time, and didn't seem interested in establishing a friendly client engagement. I had a phone appointment scheduled with Sania and she didn't call at our appointment time. She didn't call after 15 minutes either. So I emailed her and her office manager, then called the office manager, Iveth. Iveth said, "Sania will call you in 10 minutes." There was no apology for being late for our call or being disrespectful of my time. 10 minutes pass and still no call from Sania. I then emailed them again saying I haven't heard from either of them and let's just reschedule the call to a different date. After an hour I get a missed called from Sania. No voice message. Fast forward to the rescheduled date of our call. I still don't receive a call from Sania at our scheduled appointment. I wait 5 minutes then call Iveth again telling her I had a call scheduled with Sania. Iveth's only response is to tell me she'll tell Sania to call me. Again no regard for being late of my time. After 10 additional minutes pass I finally get a call from Sania. No apologies for being late, she just went straight to business. The call was very quick, 15 minutes long. Sania seemed cold and didn't really seem interested in getting to know me as a client or my vision really, she asked me what I needed gave me a quick rough quote and we hung up the call with her telling me she'll send the estimate. I know the market is currently in favor of wedding planners, decorators, etc. I know we as clients are at the mercy of these vendors because we need the services they're providing for our almost 2+ year pandemic postponed wedding celebrations. However, that really doesn't give vendors in this industry an excuse to be unprofessional and disrespectful of any potential client's time. As brides we have so much work that needs to get done for a wedding. Dealing with rude or unpleasant vendors that are too busy and frankly seem too arrogant keep there meetings doesn't make the planning process any easier or should be acceptable. This type of unapologetically flaky behavior in no way gives assurance to a potential client that you'll care about making sure their event goes as smoothly as possible or that you'll take accountability for any mistakes or hiccups that happen day of the event. From our very first meeting, Sania was organized, creative, helpful and guided us through every step of the process. We knew right away that we wanted to work with her. She consistently shared creative and thoughtful ideas to help us get started with the design process. She took the time to listen to us, understand what we wanted and really brought our vision to life. For example, our mandap was unique to us and didn't feel like more of the same or cookie-cutter. I think one of Sania's biggest strengths is her ability to listen and balance multiple family members' opinions. During our site walk through, she listened to both sides and did a great job synthesizing our feedback and coming back with a vision unique to us. Sania also is incredible at being able to visualize ideas and draw them out. Me and my wife are very visual and she was able to mock up and design multiple iterations of the entry, the mandap, the table decor, etc to give us a better sense of what it would look like on our special day. This was extremely helpful for us when we were making critical decor decisions. Trust us, we interviewed a lot of decorators and not every decorator does this. We also wanted to take a moment and thank her for saving the entire look of our mandap area on the day of our wedding. On the morning of the wedding, we realized that one of our vendors had not completed the draping properly and Sania, going out of her way, fixed it for us. We also had a similar situation with our chandeliers and Sania stepped in last minute and was able to fix the overall look of our dinner reception area. Sania is extremely organized, creative, and has an incredible eye for detail - and that's why we chose her and her team for our wedding weekend at the Dolce Hayes Mansion this past June. Since we were planning our wedding from New York and coordinating with family in California, we loved that Sania was able to facetime us into calls, schedule meetings with my parents, make trips to the mansion, edit last-minute revisions, and coordinate to the T with our wedding planner, to bring our visions to life. Though I'm a California native, it was almost a destination wedding because my husband's family and friends came from New Jersey. We had a total of four events: Mehendi, Sangeet, Wedding and Reception - each based on a theme, and Sania provided flowers and decor for all. She was a one stop shop in terms of decor, and we really appreciated that. During our first meeting, she got to know us as a couple, really grasped the essence of who we were and what we liked, and helped customize each of our events based on the vibes we wanted to have. Though each of the events were different, Sania helped us keep it simple, colorful, and classic - just the way we liked. Out of all four events, our wedding and reception were the highlights, and till date, we still hear many compliments from our guests about how stunning our decor, customization, and planning were for those events. We wanted an outdoor wedding that highlighted the main elements of our South Indian heritage, but also was bright, floral, and rustic. Sania customized our mandap for us, and adorned the wooden pillars with strands of red, pink and ivory ombre flowers, brass bells, and a sheer ivory cover. We had flowers down the aisle, ivory and baby pink bridal/bridesmaid bouquets, and she helped provide and decorate the palki I was carried in as well. We had an Oonjal (swing) ceremony and Sania provided the brass/gold swing and adorned it with ombre flowers (purples,lilacs, and ivorys). The whole set up with white chairs under our bright pink/gold tents was a vision in itself. With all the flowers and decor, it elevated our big day and made it something magical. For our reception, Sania went above and beyond expected as well. We had an 'Around the World' theme because my husband and I love to travel, and we were about to embark on a 2-month honeymoon to SE Asia as well. Sania was so creative with the theme during our cocktail hour: She worked with my mom to provide a globe, maps on letters of our names, iconic pieces, and a travel luggage bag for our guests to leave presents and gifts. She decorated the ballroom into a stunning candle-lit evening, with champagne-peach colored tablecloths, gold-rimmed plates, three types of floral and candlelit centerpieces, a candle-lit grid for the stage and an ivory couch- all within our budget. To top it off, she helped me customize themed signs for our His/Her drinks and cocktails. Sania was so personable, quick to respond to texts/emails, flexible, and always ready to give suggestions, that she slowly became family to us during this process. Overall, Sania and her team wow-ed us. Even though there are many other indian decorators in the Bay Area, Sania really stood out because of her personality. So many of the decorators we met didn't have the time to spend or had the same trademark look for indian weddings, but we wanted someone that would be creative in respect our Indian-American culture, all while producing a vision that embodied us as a couple. Sania is honest, reliable, very friendly, and more than anything, flexible and understanding. She made the most out of all of our meetings in California, and made us feel comfortable and confident with the items we chose within our budget. Sania with Saba decor rentals did a great job as a decorator for our Indian wedding ceremony and reception. I would highly recommend her for both South east Asian and any kind of western style weddings, or events! Initially I had contacted a few vendors around Bay Area and wasn't quite happy with the options I received. Some of the vendors had way too traditional design ideas and inventory. Another issue was vague communication and proposal process, where they could provide an itemized list of decor items. And the biggest issue was a lot of vendors (and some really good ones) are not a one stop shop. Sania was actually the only vendor who satisfied all our requirements. Her communication style is really great. At the first meeting Sania was able to put together a very detailed proposal with specific decor ideas. She was always available for questions during the whole planning process both via email and text. And the best part was that she was very open to design changes every time we had a new idea for flowers or for layout change. I really liked that Saba decor is a one stop shop for all the wedding decor and florals (so you don't need to get a separate florist). We went with a package for the ceremony, which included a pipe and drape mandap, seating, havan kund, garlands and other traditional items. I really loved the modern and soft way mandap turned out in pastel colors with bright red, pink and white flowers. For the reception Sania provided all the table decor and did a wonderful job with large arrangements of red roses. There were a lot of flowers used for decor and I could not be happier with the look and quality of them. Finally, Sania has a large inventory of decor, both for Indian and non-Indian events. She has a few options for mandap and seating, great variety of options for pipe and drape, a lot of sparkly lanterns, candle holders, manzanita trees etc etc She also keeps growing her inventory, so you are likely to find pretty much anything you want to decorate your event. Saba Decor Rentals was a lovely vendor to work with during our wedding planning process. From our first interactions with Sania when we were looking for vendors, it was clear that she was organized, clear, and willing to answer any questions or work with our budget and vision. That impression could not have been more true. Over the course of our several months of wedding planning, she was always available, prompt, and reasonable. She was able to identify options based on our stated budget and help us identify what would add most to the decor and give us the best bang for our buck! When we could come to her with inspiration pictures, she also was great at replicating the designs but with our own unique twist. She also was able to source several pieces specifically for our wedding, which we really appreciated to bring our vision together. I hired Saba Decor for my June 2018 wedding reception. We had a 375 guest wedding reception at the Fremont Marriott. I was looking for a one stop shop that did both event decor and floral. I contacted several vendors and Saba Decor was the only one to respond back in a timely matter and also provide a detailed quote. We started with a consultation where I explained my needs, colors, theme ideas, and budget. I received an itemized quote which was very helpful to review and make a decision. Sania was always responsive through email/texts which is a rare quality to find when working with Indian vendors. As we got closer to the event, Sania was flexible to work with when we wanted to add additional centerpieces. Our backdrop on the stage was grand and there were a lot of flowers used for the centerpieces. The reception was so beautiful and everyone still gives us compliments on the decor. As we were getting closer to the wedding and finalizing our wedding day timeline, we quickly realized that we needed help as our Indian vendors were difficult to get a hold of or had become unresponsive. We didn't want to task our families with this so we contacted Sania for her event planning services and she was able to connect me with her lead event planner. We discussed different packages and decided to hire Kanika as our day-of coordinator for our Sikh Wedding at San Jose Gurdwara. She handled our day of (which is month of) logistics. She helped put together our entire wedding timeline for all of our vendors and was our main point of contact. We did have unexpected events happen on our wedding day, Kanika stayed calm and was able to mediate all the issues. We can't thank Kanika enough for helping our big day go so smoothly. It was easily one of the best decisions we could have made to help us through the wedding planing process. Sania and Kanika are both amazing, very easy to work with, super responsive, punctual, and most importantly they went above and beyond to make sure our event was a success.
