Planning a wedding is a uniquely stressful experience. This is even before bringing in family dynamics, managing guests and their expectations, and all of the other things that pop up in between. It makes sense, then, that likely the most important decision outside of choosing each other is choosing your planner. When we first got engaged, we didn't know when, where, or how we were going to get married. All we knew was that we wanted something warm, refined, and full of love. Amrit took that guidance and blew us away with her execution: she created an experience for us and our guests that was a true cross cultural celebration rooted in heritage and hospitality. She helped us host the way our families raised us: food first, love and authenticity without explanation, generosity without performance. This wedding of our dreams could not have been executed by any other team or been possible without Amrit - from finding our venue to managing all of our vendors (and we had a lot - food / beverage, photo, video, rentals, florals, hair / makeup, stationary, henna artists, tabla player, turban tying, horses, favors, etc) to spending time with our family / slotting in seamlessly almost another family member, and most importantly, to me, taking the time to really understand me as a person and my vision. I felt secure and calm knowing that Amrit saw me and really "got" me. It was easy on the weekend to fully let go and trust Amrit to deliver and make judgement calls Having someone who knows how to manage crises and pivot accordingly, get things done and execute with no questions asked, and with a personality that is easy to get along with and real eye for design is priceless. The only thing I am sad about is that we won't get more time together. Amrit really saw us as a family and went out of her way to deliver for us (although I'm not sure how much sleep she's gotten as of late).
