    SMORES
    Lauren B.

If you want your mind blown and your sugar tooth fully satisfied, S'moregasm is the way to go. These are not your average campfire s'more. These s'mores did not come to play!!! Delicious homemade cookie and mallow on the classic Hershey's rectangles. I got about halfway through and thought, maybe I don't need any more sugar, but nevertheless I persisted. As my partner says, the experience was all in the name, orgasmic. Not to mention the lovely proprietor of S'moregasm supports the Reno community and offered to bring the truck out to a local community event to support health care. Due to unforeseen circumstance she still delivered smores to the event even without the truck.

Visited this food truck and had the best s'mores I ever ate! Graham crackers and marshmallows are homemade and it makes such a difference! They had a choice of flavors but just wanted to try the traditional flavor. Also had a delicious s'mores hot chocolate-everything was so good!

As an avid baker/cook, I was wary of some of the products after reading some reviews on Yelp. After waiting in line for an hour, reviewing the online menu, then ordering a selection of goodies, I am here to tell you that this place is worth it. Granted I had to stand in line for an hour and there is no seating, but people in line were civil and friendly. No meltdowns. Nobody going "postal". If you want coffee, there is an excellent coffee shop a couple doors down. Many people in line were drinking coffee while waiting. Because I returned home right after purchasing my box of baked goods, I was able to re-heat the pastries, which I highly recommend, and enjoy them on the patio. Here's what I had: ham harissa red onion Parmesan croissant - reminded me of chorizo pistachio baklava morning bun - complex flavors of fruit and spice kale potato tomato onion cheddar cheese quiche - best quiche ever raspberry peach almond pie bar (gf and vegan) - very fruity chocolate chunk cookie - lots of chocolate passion fruit Basque cheesecake - creamy with a passion fruit topping Due to elevation, the croissant wasn't like other croissants I've had with their many layers, but I enjoyed the ham harissa nonetheless which reminded me of Mexican chorizo. Because there is a 70¢ charge per large box, the locals brought their own Tupperware to haul their treasures back home and maybe to reduce landfill. In addition to freeze-dried strawberry granola, dog treats are also sold here. Strategy for next time: Show up before 8am opening or closer to closing time 2pm (you risk product shortage) to avoid long wait times. Bring my own Tupperware to avoid extra charges. Apparently, July 4th weekend is the busiest day of the year...just my luck.

It's a muffin masquerading in a scone shape. See my other reviews for my scone sourcing preferences. The Budapest coffee cake was quite good. I'd come back for that. For me the sweet baked goods were too much of a miss. I prefer Cornerstone's approach. I might come back and try the bread.

This place felt like Willy Wonka opened a milkshake bar for the Instagram generation…read more We stopped by Black Rock Dessert while looking for ice cream and instead found milkshakes on steroids. We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

Their focus is on high quality local sourcing within a 100 mile radius of Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. We were staying nearby and hadn't tried this fine dining restaurant yet. Chef Marshall Smith. 4.3 rating on Google and Yelp. The restaurant is located in the hotel complex in a modern wood building with an attached fully enclosed and heated exterior patio. It not a large restaurant and not overly filled on a Friday night. Food was better than we expected. Both entree hit the mark. Service was solid. They provided good help with ordering and all our needs. Food Review: HAUS FOCACCIA -- ($10) 3 pieces, made in haus fresh every day was a little more brittle than we liked but solid flavors and texture. High quality olive oil and vinegar in a cool container. 9/10 HEARTH ROASTED BEETS ($19) burrata, pistachio, blood orange, raspberry vinaigrette, mint was a beautifully plated salad. Nice fresh balanced beets, cheese and fruit. 9/10 ORA KING SALMON ($52) lemon dill beurre blanc, quinoa roasted vegetable medley was a huge portion of beautiful salmon. It was cooked perfectly and accompanied with a nice quinoa bed. 10/10 PAN SEARED SCALLOPS ($48) orange marmalade, roasted mushrooms, arugula, pistachio crumble had 3 large scallops cooked perfectly with a nice fruity and nutty accent. The small middle salad was also well done. Great for those who don't need huge portions. 10/10 Overall - Very Good Food - Excellent Decor - Very Good Service - Very Good Value - Good Would we come back - Yes
