You order online and pick up your food at the kitchen--be aware that there isn't anywhere to sit at the location, but you are in Tahoe and could easily take your food to some place beautiful to enjoy it (as we did). Highly recommend the Dan Dan noodles (you can also ask to make them spicier, as she has toned down the spice due to local tastes). Also we loved the Peking duck bao! The bao were handmade too. This place has phenomenal food. The chef starts with fresh and house made ingredients and combines them into dishes with subtle sophisticated flavors. It's damn good. It's a single woman operation currently testing the waters to see if a brick and mortar operation is viable. I hope she succeeds as she is a sweet, enthusiastic owner making great Asian dishes. It is takeout only but they offer a tasting menu for small groups that provides items not on the regular menu as well as it is BYOB. I happily came across this new place looking for food Superbowl Sunday. Alyssa makes the most flavorful, sophisticated Chinese food and delicious boba drinks. The beautiful kitchen is tucked in the corner behind Starbucks and O'Reilly's. We had the Peking duck sliders, spicy beef noodle soup, fried lobster noodles and char su baos, as well as a variety of boba drinks. All of it was amazing. This is not your typical chop suey take out Chinese food. Alyssa creates authentic, high quality, complex dishes that you'd find at the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. For example, the beef noodle soup is better than any I've had in the Bay: the beef is perfectly tender and the broth is rich and complex. The baos she makes for the Peking duck have a subtle buttermilk flavor that makes them softer and more flavorful than the typical mantou shell, making this a nice fusion twist on the traditional presentation. The lobster noodles are perfectly chewy and include large chunks of lobster. Oodloz also offers a range of authentic boba drink flavors including jasmine tea, lychee, dragonfruit, mango and others. Not only can you get boba, but she has the popping bubbles and grass jelly options as well. We are so fortunate to have such a delicious, high quality Chinese food option in Truckee. Oodloz ( phonetically oo·dlz) is brand new undertaking to bring authentic Chinese food and some Asian Fusion to North Lake Tahoe. Currently located at Kitchen Collab for take-out meals, my understanding is Oodloz will feature a rotating menu of the pictured items in the menu section, with the meal of the day, soups and appetizers for about $15.95 per meal. I have sampled the Roast Duck, Roasted Pork Belly, and sampled some Bao. Great flavors. I am looking forward to revisting and enjoying the other items. The lobster noodles had the lobster deep fried in the shell!! Super weird and crunchy, not what we tend to like. The noodles were good, but the lobster shell made it inedible and not worth the $40 we paid for two orders that sounded so good. The Peking duck apps were the best either way the fried chicken a close second. read more

I highly recommend Oodloz and here is why: In addition to having terrific experiences with ordering takeout, I also experienced a special group event. I was among 8 friends (4 gals, 4 guys) who enjoyed a special "tasting" event at Oodloz. (pronounced oo-dlz). I put tasting in parenthesis because it was an enormous amount of food! Only $50 per person for appetizer, soup, veggies, 2 main dishes, and dessert. We were seated and served in a very comfortable, clean banquet style room at the kitchen collab (where Alyssa cooks her authetic chinese cuisine). Everything was fresh, flavorful, non-greasy, and served hot! She obviously uses only high quality, fresh ingredients and authentic spices. Our menu consisted of pot stickers, a pork, shrimp, and mushroom soup, peking duck with baos, lobster noodles with ginger and green onion, bok choy with mushrooms in oyster sauce, and Boba tea drinks for dessert. The presentation was fun in itself, especially the duck! The lobster noodles had huge chunks of lobster. The noodles were authentic chinese, chewy, with taste and texture. I never knew I liked bok choy, but I do the way Alyssa prepares it! It was tender, not limp and not bitter. She really knows how to prepare it. The Boba drinks have tapioca balls in it and come in a variety of flavors. I had the mango. I especially like that it was refreshing, not sugary. Again, quality ingredients in everything she made. Oh yes, and you can even bring your our sake, wine, beer and no corkage fee! We were all very happy with the experience and will definitely do it again. In addition to the group tasting, I've ordered takeout (twice in the last 2 weeks) and placed a special order to feed 10 people for a pot luck I attended. The menu changes daily, with just a few quality items per day. I haven't tried everything yet, but what I've had so far has been delicious. The pork belly is seasoned to perfection. Not salty and was tender and moist. I think my favorite menu item is the char sui baos. Very generous meat inside a soft buttery bun. I ate one right away while it was fresh and hot as soon as i picked up the order. The remainder I took home for later. Placed them in the oven for about 7 or 8 minutes at 350. Perfect! Tasted just as good as the one I ate immediately upon pick up. The app to order and pay is easy to use. Picking up the order at 1st was a bit confusing. The kitchen collab is a building behind Star Bucks. The sign is a bit confusing with the k and the n being an artsy font. Oodloz has a very small sign in the window. You can not see it until you get to the door. You have to ring the doorbell and someone will let you in. But, it's all worth it and once you know we're to pick up, it's a breeze.
