We stumbled across this restaurant since it was walking distance from our air bnb. It satisfied our Thai food craving. Portions were a bit small for sharing. All the dishes were good but underwhelming.

Party of five, we order a lot of food and tried everything we wanted . The staff are nice , food came out fast . Not busy here and plenty of tables. The fried tofu is crispy but plain. The house fried rice looks plain and taste just as bad as it look. The steam mussels not butter , no flavor. The tom yum soup seafood combo does taste hot and sour but I was disappointed because it wasn't in the fancy pop in the menu, we order a pop and got a bowl . The chicken larb was mostly sour and not even spicy . The drunken noodle was okay , it taste like every other drunken noodles I ate . I eggplant was the best. They have a 3 card limit and they don't take American Express only visa . The view here is nice with big windows

There's not many Asian restaurants in Tahoe city so I'd come back here if I was craving Asian food and was too lazy to cook it myself. However if this restaurant was anywhere else, I wouldn't come back here. The red curry was good but a small portion. It also was 16.95 and did not include rice, which was an extra 3$! The pad see ew was pretty bad. The ingredients used were reminiscent of frozen veggies used in school lunches, the noodles were not the typical fat noodles, and the sauce was way too sweet. The stir fried eggplant dish was pretty good but way too salty and not spicy enough, considering it was a 7! The restaurant was quite dingy looking inside and service was meh.

Our group came here for Thai food since we were craving for it. The food hit the spot, it was decent, not the best, but the flavors were there. The staff were friendly and accommodated our large party. It was a very old school, local mom and pop vibe. Everybody got their order correct, so definitely big props to the good service! I had the #40 Spicy Fried Rice with chicken and Thai Tea. We also shared a couple of soups including the Tom Yum. The fried rice was good, decent portions, but not that spicy. I also tried some of my friend's Pad Thai, it is the sweeter version, so if you like sweeter Pad Thai, go for it. Overall, a good spot for those Thai food cravings when in Lake Tahoe.

Food: 3/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 My family and I have been traveling to tahoe for many years. We decided to try this thai restaurant today since it was right next to our hotel. The food was both good and bad, very inconsistent. My favorite was the Pad Thai, it is on the sweeter side which I prefer. The yellow and green curries were both pretty good. Nothing exceptional but the flavor was there. Will satisfy a craving for thai curry. The spring rolls were great, very fresh and filled with veggies, and the sweet and sour sauce paired well with it. The worst dish of all was the pad see ew. The dish tasted absolutely nothing like pad see ew. It tasted like stir fried noodles dumped in soy sauce and sugar. Compared to the pad thai, it was disappointing. The water came with no ice and was lukewarm, tasted like it was straight from the tap. At least add some ice to mask that tap flavor. The service was good, they were friendly. I do think there may have been an ownership change though. Food came out fast. The ambiance is alright, it's pretty dim and run down, although the view of the lake is very nice. The tables were sticky and the napkins weren't refilled. Overall, you can find your fix of thai food here, but I'd be cautious about choosing which dishes.

This is a pretty good Thai restaurant. My only issue is that the portions weren't consistent. Some dishes seemed to have a lot more food compared to others. But overall it's a good place to eat. Pad Thai is my favorite and there's is pretty good. Flavor wise it is on the sweeter side. You can't go wrong with the shrimp rolls. Definitely get those! The Tom Yum soup is also a must especially when the weather is super cold. It's delicious and will definitely warm you up. The pad see ew and pad kee mao are also flavorful and delicious. For all the dishes you can choose how spicy you would like them to be. Inside was also super clean and nice. There's outside seating as well. The service was also friendly and quick. I would definitely come here again!

Decent food and service, nothing to write home about but just an alright restaurant. Expensive for portion sizes however everything is expensive in Tahoe.

Is Thai Kitchen open for Dine-In?

In April, they were not open for dine-in. Only take-out. Not sure something changed after that.

    This place is closed permanently?

Just saw a sign saying they are moving to 877 n. Lake blvd. Yay!

Is this place closed as of 9/1/19?

Looks closed to me! Wish it was specified on here

Are they still open? It was closed the day before Thanksgiving.

We have deep Laos roots and are very familiar with Thai cuisine, so we were hoping for something that felt more like home--but overall, the flavors were a bit lacking. The Crying Tiger was disappointing mainly because it wasn't pre-cut. I spent about 15 minutes cutting the meat myself, which meant the rest of my food got cold by the time I could actually enjoy it. That said, the Mango Sticky Rice was AMAZING--definitely the highlight of the meal and the one dish that really stood out. Service started off a bit rough. Our server initially seemed short and not very welcoming. Interestingly, once they realized we spoke Thai and we began ordering in Thai, the service noticeably improved and felt much more friendly. Overall: decent food, great dessert, but a few things kept it from being a standout experience.

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!

The bill came to $80 which I felt was kinda steep for 3 items, especially in Carson City. The restaurant is located on a street where there was very limited parking in front and all the rear parking is super dark so bring your night vision goggles. At least there's plenty of parking spots. When I walked in, I was surprised to see Caucasian staff members! Well I guess this isn't that different than Panda Express where you have hispanics in the front and the 1 token asian in the back cooking. I picked up my food and was pleasantly surprised to find the dishes were pretty loaded. I started dipping into my duck curry and OMG it was probably the best I've had. Not only was the flavor amazing and spiced just right, but there was a generous amount of duck! When I went to eat dim sum recently and ordered roast duck, I got a plate of duck that was mostly skin and bones. Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

I adore thai food, so decided to try the remaining thai spot we hadn't gone to yet. I had no idea it was in Kung Pao Hustle. (We didn't care for that spot.) But the pickup transaction was nice and friendly. They even gave us a local discount of $4.80 which was much appreciated. We actually wanted to order 2-3 other things not listed above. When we called, we had looked at their website and picked a bunch of items from their Thai Specialty section. Unfortunately that section did not exists anymore which was a bummer. I adore super spicy, fishy, strong flavors all mixed together which that portion seemed to offer. I called to place the takeout order, so it was funny how the guy on the phone was like, "Are you looking at our website?!" I guess they hadn't updated it yet. The curry was a good amount. A little thinner than I would like, but if you like a milder curry, you might have enjoyed this. For me, it was waaay too mild for their top spice level. I actually found everything lacking in heat for their spiciest level. For the papaya salad, I wish they pounded / grinded everything together. The flavors didn't come together with just the mixing of the ingredients. It was better the next day tho. I do see they have a lao style papaya salad, so curiosity may have me trying this spot again. Decent thai food if you don't like super strong flavors. Tho this is probably my least fav thai spot out of the three we've been to in tahoe. Everything was just too mild for me. REVIEW #3933
