Came on the Sunday before Labor Day, around 5 PM. No one was there so we immediately sat with two adults and a kid. It looks like a fun place to drink, the wall plastered with funny puns and signs about drinking beer and sake. However, that will have to wait for another time since our son was with us. Cozy interior, and Asian inspired. Between three of us, we ordered the cold tofu, a California roll, the Tonkatsu Ramen, and a dragon roll. I enjoyed the Ramen and the Dragon roll, and my son seemed to enjoy the California roll. Straightforward. My partner did complain about the tofu and how it was a little grainy, and he wishes it was cut up with more sauce. That dishes were ok - pretty large menu, including sushi, appetizers, Ramen, and drinks, and we will have to be back for the milk tea and boba one day. Service was nice as well, I can see the Ramen being very cozy during winter season. I'm just glad to see Asian restaurants in King's Beach, as we've been coming here forever. 4/5 read more

I give this place a 4 out of 5! Only reason why I give 4 is due to orders getting mixed up. Service was pretty great overall prices a little high. Good honestly was delicious, very fresh. We came here for my daughters 16th birthday while on vacation. What a lovely combination . Sushi rolls were fresh, sashimi was 5 out of 5 everything was super fresh. We eat alot of sashimi and this was top on our list. Ambiance was not normal and I say that because there was no music playing, weird for a sushi place. Normally there's music playing. Came here during a nice Tahoe getaway with my partner and what a nice find! It's a bit of a hole in the wall hidden gem because of the location. Good: - Great asian food in an otherwise sparse Asian food location! - Super fast service - came out really quickly - The place is simple and clean, wooden ambiance - The tamago was not too sweet but just enough that it was nice - The orange chicken teriyaki was nice since it was a bento box with miso soup and other little items like gyoza and tempura. So I've been here twice so far.... The first time they had a pretty simple menu, but the rolls were decent size and had the pieces of fresh fish on them and the price was really affordable. The most recent time I've been they expanded their menu but increased the prices significantly unfortunately and I would say the quality and quantity of the rolls are OK. But every time it's always a new staff member taking our order and they don't speak English very well and they always have to ask the owner questions about the menu. I wish that staff got more training. Like he didn't even know if they had hot tea and what type they carried. They do have Boba there and I know a lot of people are into that though. We ordered the shrimp Gyoza and it came out being cold in the middle which was a turn off. I feel like they didn't really do anything different inside for their decor from the previous Sushi restaurant that was there which would've been nice. The food did come out really quick though and staff was nice nonetheless. There was this weird situation that happened, though where a drunk lady came in and locked herself in the bathroom and couldn't get out and so there was tons of yelling back-and-forth, trying to get her to get out and then they try to kick her out, but she wouldn't leave and at that point it was just a ridiculous situation. She kept leaving her stuff all over the restaurant moving from table to table. And they were trying to get her to leave, but it wasn't working, at that point you just gotta tell them to leave or you'll call the cops. So I feel like they could've maybe laid down the law a little bit better with her. At that point I was getting fed up and wanted to tell this drunk lady to just get the heck out of there. Staff didn't acknowledge that the situation was uncomfortable to us, dessert on the house would've been nice, even though I know it wasn't their fault. It was all just so strange. The food was really a 3.5 but the service was a 5, so I just went with a 4. Really like their broth and they weren't shy with the chicken. Would have liked more veggies. Yay, I am so happy to have a great new spot open in town! Asian Vibes took over the old, notorious Hiro Sushi restaurant, and they made it their own, in a great way! The menu is diverse including some great appetizers and spring rolls; my favorite! My only suggestion is that they add a few more veggie rolls to the list. We ordered takeout on a beautiful summer day and brought our bounty to the beach right across the street so we could enjoy the weather and view. I ordered the Fried Tofu appetizer, as well as the Garlic Edamame, and the Veggie Wrap (aka Spring Roll). The tofu was perfect-- crispy and flavorful, although I wish it was served with a dipping sauce. I ended up using soy sauce, and it did the trick. The Veggie Wrap was crisp & fresh, and served with a mae ploy dipping sauce. My husband got some traditional sushi rolls including a California Roll and commented on the good quality. The business owners are so kind and welcoming, which made our experience even better! I didn't notice beer or wine (maybe that is coming soon ?), but they do have Boba Teas. read more

Unfortunately, we didn't have a great experience here. Seared tuna - I would definitely pass, it wasn't fresh and a bit tough to chew. Bento boxes - these were pretty standard, the chicken wasn't great but everything else was okay! In terms of experience, we just had to wait a veryyy long time to order and then again to receive our food. We went around 6:30pm and I'd say we waited close to an hour. We ordered tonkotsu ramen, salmon nigiri, the Chef's choice nigiri combo platter, a teriyaki chicken bento box, and hot sake--plus a variety of other dishes from our group. Honestly, we didn't expect much, knowing how hard it can be to source Asian ingredients in the area, but the food exceeded our expectations! Everything was fresh and flavorful. If you can't afford a trip to Maui, come here and get this roll then walk across the street to the beach. Plenty of parking and tables, bar and sushi bar so should be easy to get right in. Horrible experience from start to finish. Small portions, high prices, very slow and poor service, missing food, incorrect dishes, the wrong check, and an extremely unprofessional chef. Several tables were vacant but dirty. We waited 15 minutes for someone to clean a table and seat us. Then we waited another 15 minutes for a server to take our order. The entrées for two people came out quickly, but the appetizers arrived 30 minutes later. It didn't seem like they understood how appetizers are supposed to work. I waited 40 minutes for my food while everyone else had already finished eating. There were no updates or communication from the server. I eventually asked if it was possible to cancel my order, pay for what my friends ate, and leave. At that point, the chef came out YELLING at us in the middle of the restaurant, saying he was angry that we would even ask. Whether he was having a bad day or not, this reaction was completely unwarranted and unacceptable. They took no responsibility for any of the mistakes and blamed everything on being "busy," despite the restaurant not being full. I can't imagine how bad the service would be if it actually were. A complete lack of training is evident, from the waitstaff to the chef. This was, without question, the worst dining experience I've ever had. read more

This is a small place in Kings Beach that has recently changed hands, it used to be Hiro Sushi. I have to say I'm happy with the change. Hiros was good but now it's great! The people working were all very helpful and were making sure we were happy the whole visit. A real gem in Kings Beach! Unexpectedly good, given it can't be easy to always stockpile fresh ingredients for Japanese food up in Tahoe, so our expectations were tempered going in. We were pretty amazed by how flavorful and freshly made everything tasted. Even the standard miso soup that comes with their bento box had a different flavor that tasted homemade, which was a good sign the chefs here don't take any shortcuts and really want to put out food that makes customers return. Favorites that we tried were the spicy roll with hamachi (super tasty), takoyaki (spot on flavor), chicken karage (tasted clean and freshly fried - def no old oil here), and the shoyu ramen. Would absolutely come back next time and try more of their sushi and sashimi offerings - they definitely earned our trust for a return visit that dives deeper into their menu offerings. Also, lots of parking, which is a huge plus in Kings Beach! They have a long strip of parking spots all the way down the length of their lot (easily fits 12-15 cars, prob more). read more

She handed us menus and we looked it over but pretty much knew what we wanted. It took about 5-10 mins for them to take our order. I asked for a drink menu and i got a stank look. The two ladys who work the front were not friendly. The way they spoke to other customers and didnt take the time to understand someone with a heavy accent and acted like it was annoying and she was rude to them!! Granted, the servers also werent english speakers!!! Anyways, i ordered some ramen. The portion does not match the price. It was portioned like it was for a child. We also ordered the teriyaki orange chicken bento box. The chicken is DRY and the drizzle??? Ive never known orange chicken nor teriyaki to be dry!!
