I had been going to her for years. She made a mistake on shortening a pair of pants for me. She insisted that I pay for the alterations again because as she put it, she never makes mistakes". She insisted I Had a 4 inch pair of heels and when I came in the first time. I did not as I can't wear that tall of heels with my bad knees. Such a shame. Amazing! Incredible! A real fairy god mother! Not only did I bring in a dress that was too small but I gave a very quick turn around time and I was blown away! I brought in a completely sequined, beaded, rhinestoned prom dress of a gown and asked that it be made bigger if possible. We were welcomed by her saying that my daughter had to leave with her sealed drink. She hadn't even made it all the way to the sofa she was going to sit in and wait while I spoke. She went outside. The quote was $22 for a new zipper (which does not appear to be an unreasonable price based on the quote I received at the next location -- thus she gets the one star I gave) but says she only takes cash and it has to be prepaid. I was recommended to S&N by Ashley A. I needed a skirt hemmed and I had 2 dresses that needed to have cups sewn into them. The end result was great but I felt that the process was like pulling teeth. If you read my review perhaps you can have a smoother experience! When I first arrived I was informed that I would need to provide cups. I've never gone to a seamstress before that didn't have the cups already. When I returned the next day with two different types of cups I was told neither of them were correct. (Apparently I was supposed to get the hard Styrofoam like cups...um no thanks.) We figured out what would work best and ended up taking up the straps of one of the dresses as well. My husband picked everything up for me (isn't he the best?!) because I had to go to Flagstaff for the day. The overall charge was more than I was quoted because more work was needed than originally though. The price was a little on the high side, IMO, but the quality was good. Sohela is a "jean-ius"!! I cannot recommend her highly enough and I am seriously (I mean seriously) fussy. She tailors regular Levi's or other off the shelf jeans and makes them custom fit. I have been going to her four years and she always does exactly what she says she will do, in time and 100% reliably. I have taken high end silk and wool pant suits to her and she has expertly adjusted the pants .... My legs look longer and hips smaller when she is done. She also does simple repairs - on zips in old favorites; repairs rips in useful jean style pants. Recently she fixed the lining in a linen Dress that had never hung quite right - she figured out the lining had shrunk and knew how to put it right without spending a ton on it She is the best kept secret in Scottsdale!! read more

VERY RUDE AND ACTS LIKE IF SHE IS AN EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE WOMAN!!I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!! Horrible first time experience there.!! DO NOT GO THERE!! SAVE YOURSELVES A BAD EXPERIENCE !! I walked into the place with my kids who were holding candy in a bag. the first thing she says in a very firm manner was "No food or drinks!" instead of a warm or polite welcome but i thought it might be me overthinking her tone of voice. so i understood , agreed and told my kids i will hold the candy in my purse and they gently and sweetly gave it to me. Then i showed her my items to be altered . i asked her how much will it be to fix the sleeves of my child's suit jacket and a skirt for my second child, she says in firm tone "i cannot tell until i see it on". then i send my 2 kids to go put on their suits and while I wait she says in a prompt and firm tone "And i do not take credit cards ,only cash and pay in advance" (which this was a surprise to me because one usually pays at the end of the job) . so i told her very politely "really? but can i pay at least half? i do not know if the job will be done correctly, this is my first time here" Which she replied in a VERY RUDE tone by now,:"This is how i do my business " (with a i don't care about you attitude) Then she adds: "Ma'am, i have been here for several years if i did not do a good job the place would of been shout down long time ago right? At this time i was thinking there is something wrong here and i said in a polite voice:" Ma'am, do not get offended, i am just asking a valid question, this is my first time here!" She replied in a more rude tone in addition to combative now: "Ma'am, I do get offended! I have been doing this for a long time! if you don't trust me, you can go"!. I could not believe the tone and sentences I was listening to!! . (At this point my children came out of the dressing room in their outfits to be altered but with a look on their poor sweet face telling me mom there is a problem here!) So i realized there is something wrong with this woman i better leave with my children or who knows what else she will tell me or do! So I gently and in a calm voiceI told my kids"please put your clothes back on ,we will not do the job here, we are going to another place". Which at this time the woman replied in the background in a rude tone of voice :"Please Do"!!!. I just turned around, ignored her, waited calmly for my kids to come out fast and left!!! I was stunned by her rude attitude and lack of new customer service!!. Either this woman had a bad night/day or has mental /emotional issues or is bipolar!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! She told me that my pants were not clean and asked if I did not see her sign in the window. My pants were clean but not ironed. When she said "I am not touching your crotch" I lost it and left.
