The commercial center is old and looks to have seen better days. I rode into town on a fine late summer day after the smoke had cleared from several forest fires that had been burning for several weeks near by, one fire threatened homes in the area. The firefighters had moved their base camp out of town to a location some miles to the north where the forest was still burning and on this Saturday morning few people were in town. Pickers is a tiny place with a lunch counter, one table and shelves and coolers with food, soft drinks, beer and wine. The cafe serves mostly fried chicken (precooked--to go), burgers and pizzas. The mushroom-swiss cheese burger has a freshly made beef patty that was good; no pre-formed or frozen hamburger patties. For visitors, Glendale's importance is as one end of an approximately 74-mile long often very narrow forest road system for bicyclists and other travelers to the village of Powers near the Oregon coast. The route is paved and when I last rode it I saw only one vehicle (a backhoe) between Glendale and the Agnes/Gold Beach junction.

Unfortunately the windows were boarded up due to recent break ins, which kinda added to the "What am I doing in here?" atmosphere. It's a shame the business should suffer these kind of activities as it is hard enough to keep something like this open in towns like these.

We all love them but they are a little too hot for our taste buds & stomachs. We all would dearly appreciate it. I know for a fact that if they were toned down a lot more people would be enjoying them. I also would be getting the word out to everyone as well. Thank you dearly for your time and May God Bless Ya'll Always.

They have both outdoor and indoor seating with a public restroom. Place is an older building that is kept up and sparkling clean. My 82 yo mother in law loved her burger and strawberry milkshake which was made with real ice cream. The babes also loved her kids cheese burger which came with pickles and light mustard and mayonnaise. I'm assuming the Hubbs liked his bacon cheeseburger because it was gone before I could even take a look at it. I wasn't feeling like a burger and at the recommendation of the lady at the counter, I got the Reuben which came with pastrami & sauerkraut on grilled rye Bread. For $8.85 you get a large tasty sandwich that you can easily pay $15 at most places. The food is made the old fashioned way, upon order and the French fries are made with fresh potatoes. If I lived nearby, this place would be dangerous!

Inside, it has checkered floors and that classic drive-in feel. There isn't a lot of indoor seating, but there are clean, comfortable picnic tables outside. They also have a drive-thru if you'd rather not get out of your car. The service was great the cashier was pleasant, and the staff who brought out our food were wonderful. One gentleman even came by multiple times to check if we needed anything. My partner got Jimmy's Deluxe and said it was really good and a great portion size. He also ordered fries, which were more than enough for both of us. I got a bacon burger (I can't remember the name), and it was okay. The real stars of the show were the onion rings 10/10, definitely recommend and the mint chip milkshakes. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place!

It's one of those wide patties so I would recommend doubling up. They give lots of lettuce ... The onion rings are deep fried to perfection and come out HOT so don't eat them right away because after one bite you won't be able to stop and your mouth will be in pain from the burning but you have to keep going because it's that good.

Kind of a hip dive bar meets delicious food with a sprinkle of old timers ready to share a story or two with you while you wait. We got burgers, cuz duh... Look at these things!! I got mine with a side salad instead of fries and my friend got the fries. All of it was delicious. There was zero chance either of us were able to finish these monsters so the rest came home with us. The side salad was amazing! Fries were delicious. And the burgers did not disappoint. The guy at the counter was super friendly and everyone in the establishment gave off a friendly vibe. Happy they were the only place open when we were driving through. We would definitely visit again.

It took a total of TWO hours and 15 minutes, and that's AFTER we went up to the counter to ask about the pizza progress. No apologies from staff once pizza came. -Food 3/5: Pizza was not bad, just not memorable. It's heavy, but I mean..it's pizza. Their ranch was prob my favorite food item & my family thought the wings were alright. -Ambiance 3/5: It's the exact vibe of what you would expect from a dive bar, but the staff obviously favors locals-only. Tourists may feel like all eyes are on them. Pros: -One of few places for late-night dinner/grub. -Allows you to experience a Port Orford locals' bar spot. -There's karaoke apparently on Saturday nights which may be fun to check out. TLDR: If you do need a late-night spot for food, do not get the pizza...NOT worth the wait. Grab some apps & beers and just enjoy the local bar vibe of Port Orford.
