It's been a while since I did a review so I wanted to update it. The last time I was here I had the French Dip. The bread was amazing, meat delicious and au jus was tasty!! It was something I will definitely have often. Burgers are really good, too. Nice buns and big patty with great flavor. Fries are good but salads may be one of the best side salads around. Service is very good. Ambiance is a diner. It's cute with an old time look. I need to stop for one of their shakes/malts! read more

Teela and Steven (with a V) killed it! We were on our way back to CA and we were hungry! What we got... Lion Burger (3 paties) The Logger (2 paties) French Dip & Frito pie! First off, Frito Pie?!! Come on, takes me back to a simpler time! The burgers amazing and very esthetically pleasing to the eyes. 10/10 would order again.. However, that French Dip.. Oh. My. God. The service here is top tier, the waitresses Annie and Salina have excellent serving and customer service skills. The food is also a great contribution to their service because it's always good. The baked potato soup, the French dip, the logger burger, the lion burger, the milkshakes, the western chicken are amazing. Cool local spot that offers both a Drive-thru and an indoor Sit down option. A convenient place to eat that has typical American diner food while passing through. I'd pass on the strawberry lemonade for $2.95, but the burgers are a-ok and reasonably priced. The side salad was in made of surprisingly fresh ingredients and I was very happy to replace the included fry option with a side salad instead (+$1). They only had one girl working the front, answering phones, and working drive thru by herself, and only 1 guy working the kitchen. The restaurant was full. Husband said it was very busy at 330 pm. The food was overcooked. The employees were very nice. It wasn't their fault. Employers should hire more personnel and maybe food would be better. read more

Teela and Steven killed it! Literally the kindest waitress and the food was delicious. Super fast, but everything was perfectly done. The butterscotch malt was a classic and my mom was super pleased they had it! We had the BLT, French dip, and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and they were all so good. The portions were great too. It's a super cute old school diner theme. We were saying everyone in here was so friendly and I think it's just because Teela was so kind that it set the tone for everyone else in the restaurant. Be prepared to get a full stomach! This is a cute, small diner with a good variety of great food. On this day, only one gal was serving, so, she was running rampant. We had a corn dog on our order and received a hotdog. My daughter wasn't crazy about it. She tried to eat it, but just didn't like the taste. The rest of the food was fantastic. I decided to order ice cream afterwards. None of us could finish them!!! One of my girls ordered a milkshake. The server brought the shake, that wouldn't fit in the glass, as well. Upon paying, the server gave me my receipt to sign and forgot to give me my card back. I feel like that was also my responsibility to make sure it came back to me. Plus, as I said, she was really busy! The next morning I called right before they opened and they had the card. They unlocked the door prior to opening so I could get it. We stopped going here a few years ago because the place had gotten so dirty. We heard the new owners had cleaned it up so we started going back at least once a week for lunch. The fries had been going down in quantity but today was pathetic. They raised their prices then gave us barely an inch in the bottom of the fry bag. We thought they'd spilled out into the bottom of the bag under the burger but no, that was it. It's pretty sad when you have to stop at McDonalds on the way home to buy an order of fries to go with your order of fries. read more

solid diner fair with a good vibe when you pull in with old cars. burger is pretty solid and well priced about 11 to 13 dollars with a good portion of fries. free ranch and fry sauce. definitely recommend the onion rings, they were tasty. regular fries are fresh cut as well. Good spot for after wildlife safari. Little toasty inside, was a touch uncomfortable. Was 80 degrees outside and felt like 76 inside. read more

Let me start by saying I have been eating here for over 40 years. My wife and I went to have dinner here on Thursday night, 12/9/21. It started OK ordering our food. My wife had an el Camino burger with curly fries myself I had a Logger burger with ham, not bacon because they kill it in the deep fryer waited for at least 30 min when the order finally arrived it was all wrong we explained the mistakes and the waitress took the orders back to fix them this is where it all went wrong. When it came back, my wife's was ok, but mine was not. They took the bacon off my burger and put the ham on it. One problem was straight out of the refrigerator, ice cold so I refused to eat my meal, told the staff I wanted a refund. then I was told that's how they put the ham on their cheeseburgers ice cold this was when I showed them their own menu that clearly states (grilled smoked ham), which is when they decided I was going to receive my refund. Not once did they try to make things right, not once did they ask if there was anything else they could do. They have lost my business once again been coming here for over 40 years. Unfortunately, something has changed. First, the fries are definitely not what they used to be, they used to be the best fresh cut fries anywhere, not sure what happened there, the fresh cut fries now are just different, not horrible, but not as good as they once were. Something about the burgers has changed as well, cant quite put my finger on it, but I suspect a change in the hamburger patties, not as good, again, not horrible, but the change is not as good. Not sure about putting diced onions on a burger, but its not a deal breaker. Its sucks that this joint has seemed to slip in quality. read more

12 bucks for 4 tiny chicken strips and a whole basket of not so good unsalted fries. Spend close to $40 for barley anything that was actually good. The chicken tasted decent it was just so tiny I was disappointed at the price. I would give it a one star but the ranch was very good. We went drive through so I can't say much about the service or indoor area. It looked really good in the pictures but was left pretty disappointed and felt like I wasted money :/ coulda gotten more food for less $ at Dairy Queen. read more

Went here recently for lunch, utilized the drive thru to obtain my food. First, long wait time but I realize it's probably due to cooking the food and processing the order, no problem. Food was tasty and fresh. Not enough fry sauce for the amount of fries, could throw in one more, for a total of two per bag of sauce for fries. That would be adequate. Service was great, nice and polite but very quick and fast talking, might be better to take a moment with customers. All in all a good experience and good food. read more

So we ran across this little diner on 99 in Winston while visiting Wildlife Safari. What a little gem! With limited seating (thank you, social distancing) we managed to get seating for our group of 6 and enjoyed amazing burgers, salads and hand cut fries, perfectly cooked. Dawn, the proprietor, did an amazing job shuffling people, taking orders delivering food and checking on tables. She's a one woman show and kept a smile on her face the whole time. We will certainly be back and will recommend to friends. read more
