Someone posted the menu on our local FB page. The prices seem far more normal than their breakfast prices-ex: $17.29 for pancakes-which are absurdly high!! Always happy to find someplace else to go for dinner, we stopped by. It was strange that we were the only ones there at dinner time but maybe they've had the food & left. We ordered the Wild Pacific Salmon with garlic butter, rice pilaf, veggies and a piece of bread plus the Wild Alaska Cod dusted with flour & sautéed in garlic butter with same rice, veggies & bread. We chose the Ivar's Clam Chowder for a starter. The Good *The Ivar's Clam Chowder is excellent. It's a frozen product they just have to heat and serve. We actually just bought it at Costco. *'Farmstand' veggies were delicious, left natural and cooked to perfection. The Meh: The fish, rice and bread had absolutely zero flavor. If there was a garlic butter near them at any point in the cooking process, you couldn't tell because there was no garlic or other flavor. The rice pilaf was flavorless. I had high hopes for the bread. It's that same bread that is served at Sizzler and other steakhouses but this one tastes like nothing. Bland white bread taste. How do they manage to give it No flavor?? Service was ok. She came to check then disappeared for a long while. Ambiance is pretty cold. It's stark with nothing decorative to warm it up. It used to be a Shari's and while it was big and pretty plain, the staff, good food and prices warmed it up. This has none. I had such high hopes when Elmer's moved in to this space after closing in its old location. But, this is an Elmer's Kitchen-which means same old food at higher prices. This is not a fancy place that deserves high prices. It's a chain that seems to sells to people coming off the freeway who have limited choices, as they're always located near a freeway exit/entrance. I wouldn't go for those breakfast prices adding be back for the horrible dinners, either. Such a shame. read more

I was a bit thrown by the Elmer's "Kitchen". I didn't realize it was Elmer's "Lite". It was a one page, front and back menu that was very limited. Maybe it's due to the location, but disappointed that they didn't have the full menu. I was really looking forward to either a Reuben or a club sandwich. read more

I love American breakfast and was ecstatic to discover that Elmers had opened near me- even if it is chain. It's all new and cute inside. I really wanted to try the German pancake with lingonberry butter so I got the combo with the 2 eggs and 3 chicken apple sausages. My German pancake came out mysteriously flat, and the server asked if I wanted a new one but it would be an 11 min wait. I thought it was fine and kept the flat German cake. It was still good and crispy, just not good for the photos. Also tried some of the potato cakes and an omelet- both were really good. The omelet was filled with a generous amount of fillings/meat, a nice spicy salsa on the side, and the hash browns were amazingly crispy. read more

I'm writing to express my sincere appreciation for a wonderful experience at Elmer's Restaurant today for lunch. Our recent meal was made truly exceptional by the superb service delivered by Crystal. Her attentiveness, efficiency, and welcoming demeanor stood out immediately, making our dining experience incredibly smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Crystal's proactive care is the best I've encountered in ages, making her a tremendous asset. Complementing her service, the fish and chips were delightful, and the restaurant was spotless. Last week we opted to try Elmers..again. I did not contact management per a YELP message after my last my review. Giving a second chance means you are going to provide great food & service without any bias. 1st the positives, we were quickly seated, the staff was friendly, the place seemed clean. I dont think i ever ever said this about a restauraunt before but this place has some harsh overly bright lighting to match their prices! The menu choices are very limited. There are no sides like one would expect to see on a menu for this type of restauraunt. The Orange juice....bitter. The pancakes were ok..nothing special but not bad in any way. The price per portion ratio of the pancakes is out of balance... these do not compare well to other places we have been as a good value. I can say the biscuit was fluffy, if you want anything on it, ask for the honey or jelly when you order. Otherwise it will be cold before you get any jelly. The Stuffed Hashbrowns..just say No! The hash browns were brown & crispy on the outside..almost potato chip crispy, Dont be fooled by this! The rest of the hash browns was Firm yet Gummy at same time like a half cooked weird potato. The egg in the hash brown, slightly slimy. The sausage in the hash browns..it was not palatable to me. The waitress was kind enough to have my meal remade, without the sausage. The second attempt was no better minus the sausage. The hash browns still had a gummy but firm with almost burnt crunch on the outside, the egg was still a bit under done. The bacon..i think they add more in lieu of the lack of sausage .was very salty, but othereise was crispy with good flavor. The fruit cup..a bit past its date..the banana was beyond eating as it was mushy, some of the grapes were sour & wrinkled. 1 of the bites of pineapple tasted like mildew. The waitress offered again to have the meal remade. I declined. I was just done trying & appetite ruined at this point. If you want to pay for well lit, and friendly service with no concern for the price and or quality of the food...this may be your place. read more

Sometimes figuring out how many stars can be difficult. Such was the case at Elmer's Kitchen. Is there a regular Elmer's in Roseburg? No idea but that's probably what we expected with our map directed us here. The inside looked clean and fairly new. The Kitchen definitely is more for breakfast than lunch. There were about 6 lunch items and 1 1/2 pages of breakfast items. What we got was good. Server was so-so. We had quite a wait trying to get a to-go box and the check. However, with the menu as such, we would not return. read more

We frequently travel to WA from CA and overnight in Canyonville, OR. Breakfast choices there are horrible, so we always stopped in Roseburg. Better choices there. The one we settled on was the local Elmer's. Good food, reasonable prices, easy to get in and out of made it perfect until the owner retired and the landlord demolished the building. This trip we were pleased to learn of the new Elmer's Kitchen. It appears to have all the features of the old Elmer's and figured we would give it a try. The building appears to be new, or at least freshly remodeled, and feels similar to the old Elmer's. Brandi, the server, greeted us right away with coffee and tea. The menu seems slightly less expansive than old, but breakfast is still extensive. Our favorite German pancake with Lingonberry berries and butter is still offered and that meets out needs. We split the combo with eggs and sausage along with the pancake which is plenty for us old farts - perfect! Intrigued by their loaded hash browns, they had to be tried. The eggs, sausage, and the pancake were great. The hash browns were everything we expected. Ooey-gooey with cheese, sour cream and bacon. Definitely a do-again as long as it isn't every day. Is it a gourmet breakfast destination? No, but a solid breakfast at a reasonable (in today's market) price. We will be back on our next trip up/down I-5 read more

Dennys with a different name. Predictable and not well done. I searched for the sausage in the sausage gravy on my biscuit. The biscuit was well past its prime. Eggs were not bad. Pineapple in the fruit salad still had part of the rind on and the bananas had black parts on them. Step it up, Elmer, you need to do better. read more

One star for the older gentleman who delivered our beverages after our server was off gossiping with her colleagues (yes, we heard you). One star for the food. It was a lot of food and cooked well. Would be better if the bacon served without grease (once cooked, place on paper towel to blot the oil). Hubby loved his garden veg dish. No stars for the terrible waitress. All she did was complain about others not picking up our order for her. Ummm we were sat at her section, so why would someone else grab our order? Do not blame others. We won't be back. It seemed like the other diners there enjoyed her service as well. Great omelettes here. Elmers makes wonderful tasty omelettes. Some of the best I've eaten. The vegetable omelette is my favorite. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Prices have climbed here like most every where else. It's hard to justify a $20 egg dish with a few pieces of veg in it. My family went in for our first time since they changed locations, it was pretty busy, but we were seated quickly. The remodel was an improvement for the building and the fireplace was a nice touch. Our server was Dani, she was always smiling and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. I have special dietary restrictions and she was able to help me change a few things for my order without making me feel like I was being needy, and that was much appreciated. She made sure that we didn't have to ask for anything after taking our order. She kept our drinks filled and didnt forget any detail. She is the reason I wanted to leave a review, because she provided such great service that my family even raved about it on our way home. In all honesty I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it actually was, but it was really great! Elmers was clean, and our food was cooked perfectly, we both had bacon potatoe cakes and my kids had sprinkle pancakes. Ashly was amazing once again all smiles conversations and jokes she sat me at a booth and my server was Zoey she was amazing definitely made my experience better from my last. the food was amazing and it was a much better experience i got the looking for sun omelette definitely recommend really glad i gave them a second chance read more

We were looking so forward to the new Elmers...what a disappointment. The restaurant is new and clean....that is the only positive I have. They are only open til 2:30 and serve mostly breakfast and very limited lunch choices. The prices are very high for what you get...I paid almost $20 for an omelet with hashbrowns and biscuit. The egg didn't have much taste...I had to keep adding salt. The server asked if I would like "the works" for hashbrowns but didn't mention that they were a $2.99 up charge on already overpriced eggs. I would rather have the Jack-in-the-Box breakfast jumbo platter with choice of bacon or sausage for less than half the price. So sad that this isn't a "regular" Elmers. First time posting a review. I just had to after dining in at the new Roseburg Elmer's. From being greeted right away with a cozy fire place as you walk in, to the service provided by Zoey, with the huge food portions and fresh ingredients, I will be back! German pancake is a must try! We ordered one for the table to share. My table also had the veggie and egg white bowl(?), stuffed Hash-browns with a fresh fruit while my child demolished some chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was excellent, can't wait to bring the family back! So glad to have Elmer's again! read more
