When you have people come in for breakfast on a Friday after Christmas and wont serve breakfast to an older couple on they're 62nd wedding anniversary because its after 11. Stopped at the 138 Grill for lunch after a day of fly fishing. We were greeted as we walked in. We got drinks and menus promptly. My husband ordered the honey jalapeño burger and I ordered the bbq western burger. Both were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Definitely in the top five of burgers! Portions were healthy sized and price was very reasonable. The desserts sounded very tempting but we were stuffed. Definitely next time! read more

You can't go wrong with any of their hamburgers . I'm picky about prime rib I highly recommend that you try the 138's prime rib. The flavor is amazing and it's cooked to perfection. Came here for a family members birthday breakfast. Was "greeted" by an extremely rude male. I assume the owner. If their would of been another option near we would of all left. My husband did leave and go back to the air bnb because of how rude this man was when speaking to us. Food was average. I got the breakfast special of chicken friend chicken. Which is nothing more than expensive McChicken patty. If you can't eat highly processed things I'd avoid this option. In general based on my experience today I'd never go back. read more

We rode our bicycles all the way up to glide went in parked our bikes outside. Wasn't really looking for breakfast. Found a table that was clean three others around us were not didn't get a nice greeting. The gal that served us was not happy. I believe it was the owner was wandering around and talking to people with dirty tables around her. This was on a Sunday. Maybe they were just tired from Saturday night, but I had a BLT barely any mayonnaise on it. The bacon wasn't fully cooked. We don't mind paying for a good meal and service but none of that happened. Maybe the evening dinners and Saturday night because they are a bar are better on Sunday mornings just aren't. It's a shame we used to go there when it was munchies and it was really good. I walked in at 11 AM on a Monday morning. There were only two other patrons and a waitress cleaning a table. I was not greeted or told where I could sit. I asked if I should see it myself. The lady cleaning the table did make a noise, more like a grunt so I had no idea what she was trying to communicate. She walked past me and went into the kitchen and came back with a napkin and silverware for the table. She was cleaning meanwhile, saying nothing to me. So I turned around and walked out. What in the heck kind of service is this? I suppose the only business they do or passer by's since the area is very remote and there are no other restaurants around. I've been in the industry for 30 years and if this was one of my employees should be fired immediately. read more

Amazing food at this little diner on Hwy 138 in Glide. We stopped for breakfast before our hike. They have enticing specials, but we went for the pancakes and the breakfast burrito. There is not a lot of options in Glide. But what we have is exceptional. 138 Grill is no exception. The food was great. We had lunch there a few times. Burgers are great and innovative. Not your usual bacon cheese burger although they'll make you one. One criticism however, we did have to wait a bit for our food but they were really slammed with a Sunday lunch crowd. My friends and I stopped by this place after a four day backpacking trip. We were starved and filthy from our adventures. When I picture American style portions of cheese and meat heaven, 138 Grill could be the poster child. If you're on a cardiac diet maybe no. I mean there are salads and such, but burgers and pizza and fries oh my. Smallish place has outdoor seating, friendly servers, yummy lemonade, shakes and specials on desserts. Funky decor that's fun to look at. If I could give half stars I'd have given a 4.5, as it can be a little crowded and loud, but the food almost makes up for it. read more

Ypu may not think of glide as the place to go for a good meal, but you would be mistaken. 138 grill is great, the people are fantastic, the food excellent, and a funky fun vibe to boot. Stopped in for a meal during graffiti week and we came back the next day it was so good. The portions are generous and the food prepared very well. Every bite of the burger, salads and sandwhi were flavorful, and some of the unique flavor combinations worked better than you would think. Worth the drive from Roaeburg, or on the way up into the mountains, stop in and know you will be treated well and leave full and happy. read more
