May I ask, per a lot of people I know in the community & at church, if there is any way ya'll can tone down the heat and make the Lobster Wraps not so hot please. This is a very nice drive up burger joint. Easily located just off the highway on the corner as you enter old downtown. Service is prompt and friendly. They have both outdoor and indoor seating with a public restroom. Place is an older building that is kept up and sparkling clean. My 82 yo mother in law loved her burger and strawberry milkshake which was made with real ice cream. The babes also loved her kids cheese burger which came with pickles and light mustard and mayonnaise. I'm assuming the Hubbs liked his bacon cheeseburger because it was gone before I could even take a look at it. I wasn't feeling like a burger and at the recommendation of the lady at the counter, I got the Reuben which came with pastrami & sauerkraut on grilled rye Bread. For $8.85 you get a large tasty sandwich that you can easily pay $15 at most places. The food is made the old fashioned way, upon order and the French fries are made with fresh potatoes. First off, had to try the SPICY LOBSTER WRAP because the product n price are the hook! Sadly, it tasted like a spicy lettuce n tomato wrap - where's the lobster? Maybe the spiciness overpowered the lobster so much that it got lost somewhere. While I also felt the burger n fries were average, I still would recommend this place. WHY? The ladies behind the counter are adorable and you have to love a place that has tons of napkins on the tabletop - cuz they know their food is messy, in the best way. Excellent milkshakes - huge for the price, nice selection of both classic and seasonal flavors, made with Umpqua ice cream. We got a classic cookies & cream and a seasonal huckleberry cheesecake milkshake. Both very good, twice as big and half as expensive as the milkshake we got in Portland the day before. Unique selection of burgers. We enjoyed our elk and Buffalo burgers, and our kiddo liked her plain kids burger (which seems the same size as a regular burger - so the kiddo combo is a very good deal!). Combos come with a free drink - they have options like hot tea and coffee, beyond the standard soda. Only downside: our fries were limp and soggy. Based on past reviews it seems like these can be hit or miss. Nice outdoor seating area! Dog and kid friendly. Overall, a great alternative to chain restaurants when driving this stretch of I-5. read more

New travel stop for me going forward. Loved the food so much, we were sad we didn't leave in this state to come regularly. Found this place through a search for nearby places to eat. We favor little local unique places like this. When we drove by, it was clearly well visited so a great sign that people like it. We pulled in the small lot to the left. Pleasant guy helped us with the menu. From the street, the building looks like it was painted in the last few years. Lots of outdoor seating with picnic tables also more newly painted as well as more standard tables and chairs with umbrellas. Plenty of space between tables to enjoy a more relaxed meal. Seating is under the roof on a cement patio; tables/chairs with shade umbrellas on cement area, as well as picnic tables on a lawn. Lots of greenery around with some yard decorations added. Personal favorite for me is flamingos so. That attracted me as well. Note that at this time, there is no indoor seating opened up yet but there is some. Order a Taco Salad as it has been many years since I've done so. It was fabulous! Great size shell filled with refried brown beans, lettuce, tomato, rice, tortilla strips, and sour cream and salsa on the side. SO GOOD! Also ordered a Jumbo Hot Dog. It's hard to mess that up and yet most of the time, no one really improves it either. This hot dog was wonderful! Grilled, with ketchup and mustard. It was excellent. Please DO give them a try. Cure little place off the I-5, close to the Seven Feathers Casino. I am glad we stopped here for burgers and milkshakes. They were awesome! Outside eating under some shade-umbrellas. The milkshakes were wonderful, albeit in a styrofoam cup (sorry guys, but you should upgrade to be better for the environment!!). The burgers were tasty, and came in a choice of quarter pound or half pound patty. With all possible fixings. For less than $10 with fries, this is an absolute steal for a freshly cooked burger! I've had this place bookmarked for years due to a coworker recommendation from their road trip years ago. Finally got here en route to Vancouver from California. We caught them around 4 in the afternoon on a Sunday and there were only two people ahead of us. Both of us ordered elk burgers, one with cheese and one without and a side of curly fries. You can take it to go or tell hand it to you in a little plastic basket meant to be returned to them after you finish. They've got 4 or 5 tables on the patio (no indoor dining) and there's plenty of street parking. Lunch for two is about $30. Our elk burgers were cooked medium and were a tad dry and salty. They were good but nothing amazing. Curly fries were good with a nice crunchy batter. Overall opinion is that this place is a long way from anywhere and probably not destination material but perfectly solid if you're looking for lunch locally. read more

This place came highly recommended by a friend. It appears that their experience was very different from ours. And I understand that we all have off days. We found a great shaded spot and we're excited for our meal. Ordered kids chicken strips and three burgers with fries. The fries were great! Hot and well seasoned. The burgers were very dry and a little lacked flavor. I honestly could've gotten past all that. However, when I realized I'd forgotten to order one of them plain and dry I came up to the counter and got THE BIGGEST eye roll from the head guy you'd think he was a pre-teen. I apologized profusely and said it was totally my fault and I could pay for the difference. Nope. Not having it. Found this place on the road and stopped because of the good rating. We didn't eat before we left California so we thought it was a choice given the ratings. Well our food wasn't good at all. My fries were burnt and I was told that's how their fries are they all look like that. Mines was nasty, burnt smelling, and tasting. I gave my food to an homeless man I see walking past. I would give 6 stars if possible! My boyfriend and I stopped by for a quick bite on our way to Coos Bay. The woman who helped take our order was so helpful, patient, and kind. I had a chicken sandwich with curly fries and my boyfriend had the elk burger with side of potato salad (which he graciously split with me since I was hooked after one bite). Overall, service was great, food was hot and tasty, and the heated outside patio was the perfect little rest stop. Almost perfect. Stopped here for a family lunch on our way back to portland. The outdoor seating, specifically the picnic tables, is absolutely wonderful. It was perfect setting to have a relaxing family lunch. The food was pretty good as well. My wife loved her mushroom burger, said it was "just perfect." Their grilled cheese felt good, but their corn dog seemed rather ordinary. I ordered their famous lobster wrap, but I'm a little pissed that their menu didn't say that it was a spicy wrap. It was freakin spicy! So much so that I couldn't enjoy it. Had I known I would not have ordered it. The family fries had a real nice flavor and taste, but they were served soggy. Not crispy. Still yummy though, but we threw away more than half. Even with the soggy fries and the spicy issue, I'm still giving this place 5 stars cause their picnic tables were perfect for what we needed. read more
