The very best color and cut I have ever had--and I've had my hair done at many wonderful salons, including several in Europe. Sahara is truly gifted and worth every cent. I was visiting Boston for work and desperately needed my hair done. I'm so glad she was able to fit me in! She absolutely nailed both the color and the cut. I love my hair, and I adore Sahara. She is so talented that I'll be flying out from the West Coast just to have her do my hair again. That says it all. Highly recommend! read more

I have been going to SAS salon for a couple of years. She's the best! She brings my visions to life, giving great suggestions that flatter my face shape and skin tone. She takes her time and explains everything she's doing. I can text her anytime for advice on how to take care of my hair. I highly recommend her if you're able to get in. read more

This was my first experience at S.A.S. Salon and it was extraordinary. I have patronized top salons in NYC to trendy salons in LA and I have never been so impressed. If I could give S.A.S. Salon more than 5 stars I would. Sahara is a gifted artist and genuinely beautiful person. She took the time to really get to know me and my hair goals. She is knowledgeable and passionate about her craft and it shows. Sahara took my brassy blonde over-processed brittle hair and transformed it into the soft baby blonde I asked for. She also restored my hairs health and shine with an amazing protein treatment and cut. I love that she only uses top quality products and tools. It was also refreshing not to be pressured into purchasing extra services or products. I can't imagine ever going to another salon. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Sahara at her salon in Boston for a haircut and GK hair treatment, and I was extremely satisfied! I saw immediate results from the GK hair treatment. My hair has never looked or felt healthier. She offered great suggestions that completely changed my look, that I wouldn't even think to ask! Even though I live in New York, Sahara's salon was worth the trip. She is not only extremely talented but also very kind, and easy to talk to! I can definitely say that I've found my go to hair stylist in Boston, and I'll definitely be back for all my future hair appointments. Highly recommend! read more

They were nice. I will try a more experienced hair stylist next time. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but it will grow out.

I wanted to write a review for anyone curious about S.A.S. and Sahara's work on men, especially for guys who maybe frequent a barber. Nobody ever, EVER has done a better fade, has had a better understanding of hair texture, has listened to customers and has been so invested. I have had haircuts all over the city and around the world, barbers and otherwise, and nobody has ever been so focused on not just cutting hair, but giving you a finished product of something to be confident and proud of. The atmosphere is always relaxed and quiet, a newly renovated small cozy place. I promise if you go to Sahara, you won't go back. read more

I am so lucky that I can call Sahara my hairdresser! I have never had a stylist take as much care of me during and after my appointment. She is so talented and her passion for hair is evident in her work. She took my orangey blonde to a beautiful ashy champagne that I wanted. Sahara uses all the latest coloring and cutting technology from marbling to dusting. She is very well educated in all of the new hair trends--she is definitely a master. Next, she will be doing a Botox treatment to tame my frizz. I cannot wait! read more

S.A.S Salon is the best salon I have ever found. I started coming to Sahara a year ago and since then my hair has completely transformed. She has corrected my color, created a natural and healthy blonde, and is so honest about what will work/what will not work. Going to Sahara is not just a one time thing. It has been a process over the last year to get my blonde healthy again but she has done an unbelievable job. The atmosphere in her salon is very welcoming. Not only is she a hair stylist but she is a wonderful and caring friend. She is the only person working in her studio and gives 100% one-on-one attention. If I could give her ten stars I would. Attached are some photos from after my appointments. read more

You are an amazing soul and artist. We've been meeting together for more than a year and you have done an incredible work on my hair. From over bleached and over stressed hair to incredible blond I have now because of you. The technic and products Sahara uses is keeping my hair healthy and that kind of "teasy" hair-painting art, when she pulls some hair out away from the color is a game changer . So when it all comes back together, there's a natural blend that keeps your roots last longer . My hair looks natural and multidimensional. Love you read more

Sahara is an absolute gem. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone into haircuts nervous because my previous hairdressers never listened to what I really wanted. Sahara not only listens, but she asks before making any drastic cuts or changes. Getting my hair cut with Sahara has changed my anxiety about having someone ruin my crazy curls into being excited to change up my look. YAS YAS YAS YAS YASSSSSSSSSS. Ladies, gentlemen, non-binary folx. Sahara is simply the best hairstylist in Metro Boston, and you're doing a disservice by having your hair cut by anyone else. I have been seeing her for seven years, and not once! have I left feeling anything but delighted and satisfied. She is truly a master of her trade. She is hilarious, intelligent, empathetic--everything I look for in a life coach. And hairstylist. But this lady gets it. I'm thrilled to see her thriving in her own salon at last, after working her way up the ladder for other people. SAS Salon is warm, inviting, and tastefully decorated. When you make an appointment to see Sahara, you are making an appointment to improve your life. Sure, hair can be a small teeny tiny aspect of your life, but why not be happy with it? This is my very favorite way to treat myself around town, and if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to call now. read more

I have recommended Sahara to about 5 people now and everyone is obsessed. She truly is the best. I always leave there feeling so much better than I did when I walked in. Not your typical experience. Sahara will make you feel at home and welcomed. She's got an amazing personality and professionalism!

The best salon experience of my life. Sahara is the warmest, sweetest, most welcoming hairstylist I've ever met. I felt like we were friends after three minutes. She gives you tea or coffee and candy, makes an effort to get to know you, and then makes your hair dreams come true with careful and deliberate work and love. She clearly loves what she does so much, and she really works to make sure you feel your absolute best, inside and out. The slightly higher price than normal is worth it- she detoxes your hair and then applies an amazing conditioner that she leaves in as she cuts your hair, and she also spends over an hour and a half on the cut. She respects how different hair textures behave and above all knows what she's doing! Obviously, I'll be back!! read more

Five years ago I sat down with Sahara to talk about taking my hair from dark brown (and at least 9 box dyes) to blonde. I had tried many salons before, but each time it turned some terrible shade of orange... Sahara was the only hairdresser who was honest about what would need to be done to make the change (without destroying my hair) and it worked for the first time. I moved to Atlanta and though the city is full of amazing stylists, I cannot (and do not) replace Sahara. I STILL fly up to Boston for her service and it's worth it EVERY TIME. read more

I've had my hair dyed a variety of colors (the red in the profile picture is old) over the last six years, and I can say without a shred of exaggeration that Sahara is head and shoulders above anyone that I've trusted with my hair in the past. The first time I met Sahara was for a haircut. She has an astonishingly warm presence and I was immediately at ease; she genuinely loves what she does and the tremendous amount of pride and care she takes in her work is reflected in both your experience in the chair and the final results. The second time I went to Sahara was for a black to blue balayage and the results were stunning. I had to dye my hair back to a natural color for about a year and a half, so my hair was half-previously-bleached and half near-black virgin new growth, challenging for sure but Sahara handled it beautifully. I've never had a color come out so well-blended or multidimensional, nor have I received more compliments. She left plenty of strands of black hair blended into the color to give it a more natural, dimensional effect. I brought in a picture of an arctic ocean to demonstrate the range of colors that I wanted, and she translated it to my hair perfectly. I had this done in October and now, more than five months later, the color has lasted longer than any other dye job I've had. Granted washing it with cold water certainly helps, but I've had blue tones in the past that bleed like crazy but this still looks like I got it done within the month. Pure magic. There's not enough that I could say that would adequately describe how incredible Sahara is at what she does, but I know that moving forward, I will be coming to her as much as I possibly can. I just wanted to cap off the review by reiterating what a warm, incredible person Sahara is. You're not just a paycheck to her, you're someone she wants to care for and help achieve both your best hair, and a sense of well-being. She takes her time with the consultation to be sure you're both on the same page. I've been to a lot of salons in the Boston area, and I've never felt more comfortable, welcome, or cared for than when I was in Sahara's chair. read more

I am pretty sure this place is some kind of cult. I called to make a new appointment for a consultation, which is offered on the website, and instead of a call back I received a text asking for photos of my hair, asking what shampoo I used and what my hair goals were, just to make sure it fit the stylists "signature". Never in my life have I had to interview for a hair appointment. If you aren't doing in person consultations to actually feel and see my hair in person and have a discussion, then take it off your website. If your too busy to take new clients than be up front about it. If you want to cater to only famous and rich people than take yourself off the internet and go by word of mouth. Honestly it was the most awkward professional interaction I've ever had. read more

Coming from LA, I have pretty high standards for hair care. Sahara has beyond impressed me with every single service I have gotten from her. S.A.S. is one of the few salons in Boston that carries ProAddiction Smoothing Treatment (which all of my friends in NYC do and LOVE) so I decided to let Sahara give it a try with my curly/wavy hair that does not stay straight for anything. I am beyond ecstatic with the results!! Sahara worked her magic and the ProAddiction has left my hair beautifully smooth, shiny and straight (about 95 percent of the frizz and curls are gone, which for my hair is incredible). Sahara is the most cutting edge, fierce stylist I have been to point blank. She goes back and forth between her salon in Boston and her space in NYC, and it's no wonder she is so high in demand. LOVE LOVE LOVE read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Sahara is such a gifted hair stylist, colorist, hair cutter. She's a true artist and can style your hair to suit your face. She's amazingly generous with her time - she doesn't rush. I've learned so much about how to care for my hair in between sessions as well. I use only conditioner now - I haven't used shampoo in my hair in years. She gives such a good cut - it lasts months. In addition she's just such a nice person - so honest and sincere - I used to make separate appointments for a cut and then the color - just to connect with her. I don't think I've ever known anyone so dedicated to her profession. Sahara - before the pandemic - was always pushing herself to learn more - She would work in her salon in the North End during the week and then in the Meat Packing District of NYC on weekends. She was always up to date with techniques - I mentioned once before - she gives my hair botox treatments. In any case, I can't recommend Sahara highly enough. I'm attaching a photo to demonstrate how long a hair cut lasts. Unfortunately I don't have a before photo - it was a short bob. This photo was taken close to 6 months after my haircut. read more

I cannot recommend a hair stylist more! I have nothing but nice things to say about Sahara. She has been doing my hair for almost 4 year now and I really feel like I am part of her family. I have very difficult, curly hair and Keratin does not work on my hair. A few years ago Sahara recommended the ProAddiction treatment and my hair has never looked better. It lasts for months and is finally the naturally wavy look I want! In addition, her color is amazing. I can go an entire year with a balayage color and it will always look flawless. If you can get an appointment (she is a hot ticket), you must go to Sahara. She really is one of a kind. read more

Amazing salon! I came in and saw Nadia and she did amazing. It's a great facial and amazing company. I came out of there feeling refreshed.

Sahara is the owner of this amazing hair salon in the North End! I have never left unhappy and she has transformed my hair. I have always had dark hair and wanted to try something different. Sahara has turned my hair into a designer color using a melting technique that's bright and blonde - exactly how I have dreamt of having it. She took her time with it and did it in a way that was not damaging to my hair in any way. To be honest my hair has never looked healthier. I also get a KeraSilk treatment that works better for my hair - this is very similar to a keratin treatment. Sahara does both here but tweaks the treatment for your hair type. First of all I'd like to say how amazing Sahara is as a person, hairstylist and a friend she will eventually become to you once you start seeing her regularly. She's a great expert who's always attending workshops and bettering her knowledge to share with clients. She's extremely caring and takes pride in what she does. She'll give you hair care tips too. My hair has never been that healthy and I'm a blond. I also had long hair my whole life and she's been telling me for over a year that a short edgy bob cut will look good on me. I was convinced! Now I'm mad at myself I haven't done it earlier... and that way she cut my hair- takes 5 min at home, on my own to blow dry a stylish bob cut !!! I won't even go into all compliments I received. Sahara will diligently analyze your face and mimics to recommend a style - so whether you are looking for a dramatic change or an amazing stylist she's your girl ! Oh yeah- the salon is gorgeous and her products are top notch! read more

I've been with Sahara since I walked into a salon in Downtown Boston in a panic after a terrible cut and color. Sahara fixed my hair that day and seven been on a journey since, where she patiently brought my hair back to life. I've moved to Toronto and now Chicago and I still make sure to come see her every few months for our color adventure (she's amazing at coloring). By far, the best experience I have ever had at a hair salon. She is a Goddess. Not only with her hands but she's such a beautiful person. I have thick, long hair and no one has ever taken the time to explain how to take care of it and what products would be best for my hair. I've always received complaints on how much hair I have and the time and effort it takes to style it. Sahara was with me for about 3 hours and not once I heard her say anything but positive compliments about my hair. She took her time to make sure i left there with a smile and that my hair was a little more more manageable. I'm very cautious on who I give my hair to. I am from Miami and for the past 3 years I would wait to make a trip to see my family so I can get a haircut and I am thrilled I found Sahara! She's a perfectionist read more

My new favorite salon in Boston! I called day of to make an appointment and got in two hours later. Sahara greeted me at the door and offered tea, cookies and wine. She is the best! We collaborated on what I wanted to do with my hair. She used great products, gave me samples and gave a great haircut and style! At the end she also mentioned that she does eyebrows and threaded mine on the spot. Her salon isn't like any salon I've been to, if you go to Sahara you get a truly personal experience. If I could give 10 stars I would! Sahara is one of the best human beings I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! I am not fussy about my hair but was feeling I needed a change and some style. I googled and after reading reviews I booked. I immediately recieved a text message which continued up to the day of my appointment. She asks for a picture of you currently and what you are thinking of prior to your appoinment. Upon walking in, I had felt like I have know Sahara my whole life. She is incredibly warm and gracious and takes the time to get to know you, your lifestyle and your hair. She gives honest feedback and makes great suggestions without being pushy.
