Was a fun team activity. The focus was very much on the puzzle solving which we loved and went with what we were expecting. 4 rooms of puzzles with layers to each and they move us along from 1 to the next with clues strewn all over the room. The 2 game masters kept the pace going and ensured we didn't linger in a room too long. This added to the fun - as you had to jump to the next puzzle part way through solving one! The puzzles were challenging and the hosts were fantastic, but it felt like a budget experience. They could've done a lot more with the space and decor to make the experience more immersive, especially with an Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter theme -- think of the possibilities!! The entryway felt very incomplete...like you stepped into someone's garage. They had water and cups, but nothing else and no space to wait. What was unique about this -- and what makes it great for large group or corporate outings -- is that you rotate between multiple rooms rather than stay put for a long period of time. It adds another layer of complexity to the puzzles and does a great job adding a fun sense of urgency and madness. read more

Have done the escape rooms at Ryptic twice over the last two years. It is a truly wonderful experience, with great teambuilding and laughs. The puzzles are hard but not insane. The hosts do a great job helping but not over helping. All in all worth every penny... read more

I've tried several escape games in the Bay Area, but this has been the best experience so far! The room was challenging, but fair, and the designs were very creative. Even though my group stumbled on the on some of the puzzles, we were laughing the whole way! The staff members are amazing! Kevin was a great Game Master and made the game that much more interesting. They're super flexible and accommodating and make an already great experience even greater. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Came here for a surprise birthday gift with some friends and it did not disappoint. I've done another escape room previously, and this format was different (different rooms, and it was intended to have multiple groups). While our group of 5 was the only one there, it was still really fun because each room was quite unique and our Mad Hatter Ken was really great! He was very engaged in his character and he was informative in the debrief! read more

This was my first escape room experience and it was a blast! As the other reviews mentioned you aren't truly locked in, so my fears that some in our group would be anxious about being trapped were totally unfounded. We had 2 groups competing against each other to escape and both of us solved the puzzles with less than 5 minutes left. The puzzles were challenging, inventive and fun. I thought the hints were helpful and they only gave us 3 hints per team. The glass walls of the room allowed us to keep an eye on the other team which increased the competitive nature between our two teams. The place isn't big or fancy, but it's a blast and I highly recommend it! read more

Simple puzzles, uninteresting mechanics, uninspired components and several malfunctions have made them the least enjoyable escape room experiences I've had. If you're really into escape rooms you might as well go, but if you're picking between one of these and another, go to the other. read more

I have played 5 escape rooms in Nor and Sou Cal. Came here with a group of coworkers with moderate expectation. Still, it didnt impress us at all. First of all, it is located in an office/warehouse looking plaza, they have body shop across from the street. Not an ideal location for an escape room. Secondly, the room/game were more like putting a bunch of puzzles together without a logical storyline. It felt more like you were immersed in those uncorrelated puzzles one after another that made no sense to the overall theme. The props are medicore and the room is barely decorated. In my option, this is a low budget escape room trying to take advantage of the new escape game race. Maybe good for 1st time players. But if you are into more challenging, more intriguing escape game experience, look elsewhere! read more

Worst escape room experience by far. There are 4 rooms and you have 5 mins in each room which you will visit 3 times. Our game master made us pick a team name and declined 3 names we gave her, so we asked her to give us a name and she declined the name she gave us as well. Our game master was more annoying than anything. There are better escape games for your money. I would avoid this one. read more

Creative gameplay that I haven't seen before! I appreciated the creativity that went into sculpting the puzzles, especially the thought behind the more tech-oriented puzzles.
