I would never expect to find my favorite vegan pizza (I had the cheese removed) in the small town of Rye, CO, but I did. I know that sometimes the waiter may not communicate with the kitchen staff but that's my only complaint otherwise the food was good. read more

Our family has a cabin in Rye, and when we visit, we usually eat in. Today, we decided to try the Rye Cafe, and we are so glad we did! We didn't have to wait to sit inside. We noticed that we could have eaten outside, in the back or front. We liked the ambience inside - great old pictures and decor. Cheryl was our waitress and she was terrific. Everyone else working at the cafe was also friendly and efficient. My niece ordered the chicken salad salad. It was made fresh - all of it. I had the chief salad - it was also made up fresh. Husband had pizza - half pepperoni & sausage for himself & half pineapple for our great niece - who stayed home to work, so we brought her half home after we finished eating. Everything was delicious, and we appreciated the personal attention to each thing we ordered. Cheryl brought out each meal as it was made, which was fine for us. Husband raved about the pizza, by the way, and this is the 3rd time in 5 days he's had pizza. This was the best yet. We paid and left, full and happy. We hope to return soon and try other menu items! read more

Rye café is a gem. With no other restaurants in the town, you'd think it would be mediocre but that's just not the case. The food is exquisite. Excellent pizzas, as well as a host of other great options. Brunch, lunch, dinner- pretty much everything you could want. We stayed at an Airbnb less than a block away so we ate there several times during our stay in Rye. Staff is phenomenal, friendly, and on top of things. read more

We discovered "this gem" on Facebook while traveling to Colorado City. Rye is a charming small town 13 miles to the west of the Colorado City exit on Interstate 25 . We ordered the carved turkey sandwich and the chicken salad on croissant. Both came with potato salad. Both were so delicious. The cafe is inviting and comfortable. Diane greeted us so warmly that we felt like it was our hometown restaurant. She and our waitress let know that the last piece of homemade peach cobbler was still available, which we eagerly ordered with ice cream. We were not disappointed! It was the best peach cobbler ever! We look forward to traveling this way next year and plan to make the Rye Cafe our dining choice. read more

Delicious food and amazing service! Came in for coffee/breakfast and got the omelette and their famous biscuits and gravy-so good we decided to go back for lunch! For lunch we got to choose from a newly updated menu full of tasty items. We picked one of the new salads that Cheri recommended. I was a crunchy fresh bed of locally grown lettuce and micro greens (sunflower shoots, pea shoots, baby arugula) topped with tender grilled chicken, pecans, bell pepper, crisp apple and feta served with a side of raspberry vinaigrette that you could add to your liking! Huge salad but so fresh you won't feel bloated after! We heard that some nights (not sure which so call ahead and check) they do prime rib and steak for dinner, but you need to call ahead and reserve a meal because they book up fast! They have other options for dinner as well, BBQ chicken and Ribs etc... Will definitely be eating here a few more times during our stay! read more

This place was amazing! It's super cute and clean inside. Staff was incredibly friendly and the prices are on par with any other place. And the food? Absolutely perfect! You can taste that each and every item is fresh. Salads were top notch and the pizza....ahh.....the pizza! Spot on! I was so thankful I had leftovers so I can enjoy the pizza again tomorrow. . My only regret was not taking any pics. Looks like another day trip to the area is in our future. Don't pass this place up! read more

When I imagine a small town cafe, this is exactly what I envision, great food and friendly smiles. I stumbled upon this place while on the road and needing to find a place with Wi-Fi to take a call. Everyone here greeted us with a warm smile, was very welcoming, and accomodating about customizing the veggie panini to be as vegan friendly as possible. Great little cafe in Rye, Colorado. Not much else here so it's a good addition. We stopped by for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised to find the food very good and the onchee to die for! A New Zealand treat. Unfortunately we arrived the next to last day for the current owners. They've sold the restaurant and I have no idea if the good food and ambiance will continue. I don't know about you, but when a place labels itself a cafe you'd think they would actually make coffee... not here. My partner asked for a cup of decaf coffee and was handed an empty cup and a packet of instant coffee.
