Our first time to enjoy brunch at Legends on Main, and it did NOT disappoint! I confess to be a picky eater and was not surprised that Legends brunch was delicious. Every meal I have had here has been stellar. La Veta is very fortunate to have a great restaurant that is open year round.

Pros- Great atmosphere with the fire and crowd. Really good vibes from the staff…read more Cons- Food is awful. AWFUL. I ordered a wedge salad with steak. How can you mess up a wedge salad?!?! They did. The steak was more like a chewy gyro meat (but I like gyro meat. this was disgusting). The salad was underdressed (yes, I could have asked for more ranch) and the bacon was not edible... and I had to put force into every bite because it was also so chewy. It was so strange! The tomatoes were good. My huband got the filet .. he said it as cooked well. but the compliments ended there. My girls both got chicken fingers. Disgusting. Even the fries were gross. This was our first night in TVS. I was scared out of my mind this was how the food was everywhere. Nope. Just The Blake. And it's the talk of the town. Stay away until they figure it out. Dont waste your money.

While I can appreciate the craft that went into the cook, I was a bit disappointed in the execution. What we ordered: Eggs Benedict: it was absolutely beautiful when it came out, but upon breaking open the poached egg, it was about 10-15 seconds under done. I had runny whites, which shouldn't happen. Also, the hollandaise sauce did not have that lemon flavor (you need a bit more punch). Finally, the sauce to me was broken as I could see and taste the eggs curdled. While I loved the fresh spinach and tomatoes as it gave it a good acidic taste, I was just a bit disappointed in the execution. The potatoes were good. They were fried to perfection but it needed a bit more zest or seasoning. Breakfast Buffet: typical buffet of sausage, eggs, bacon, pastries etc. nothing exciting or anything to be negative about. The one good thing to note is that there was a pastry that had some sort of apricot or peach jam in the middle which was lovely! Out of the places we ate in the Ski Valley, I would come back here to eat lunch or dinner.

All four of us did the buffet. There is a good variety of options there, from starters, entres, and…read moredesserts (actually, tons of desserts). However, the labeling is atrocious and it's often hard to tell what each item is (like, the churros were labeled as tacos). I think they are just always shifting things around, so they must have trouble keeping up with things. I wish they had a bit more variety of vegetables for the buffet that aren't part of a final dish (like in an enchilada). It's mostly just meats there. A few of the things seem a bit suspect, too. The smaller make-your-own tacos have sad looking ground beef and "queso." But I guess that's to be expected at the "American style" taco part of the buffet. I see that some reviews have mentioned there being grilled veggies, but that was not around on the day we were there. I'm not sure if that's a part of the menu you can order from, or if there's just that much variety in what they offer day-to-day. What's not to be missed, though, and it very good, are the fresh tortillas and made-to-order street tacos. Very yummy. I could just eat the tortillas all day. Best of all, everyone there is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. If the labeling were a bit better and some more vegetables (beyond salad), I think it would be 5 stars. As is, I'd give it 4.5.

The entire restaurant heard him yelling at us. The owner's daughter was extremely rude and the waitress was also rude. It's a shame to be berated and called a liar when we've been going here for years and have never been treated like this. The previous owner was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Too bad a small saucer of sauce trumps faithful patronage!
