Very attractive kitchen staff 5 stars on the eyes. Wasn't able to buy the cook so we settled for a hourly rental.

Almack's was one of the highlights of our road trip between Texas and Denver. We stopped there on the way up and again on the way home, and both experiences were excellent. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere has a really cool, welcoming vibe. On our first visit, we ate inside and it was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy a great meal before getting back on the road. On our return trip, we ordered online for pickup, and the process was incredibly easy and convenient. The food was ready when promised and was just as good as our first visit. My daughter isn't usually a big burger fan, but she absolutely loved their smash burger. I tried two different egg sandwiches on our visits, and both were outstanding. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Almack's has officially become a regular stop for our family whenever we're traveling through Colorado. If you're passing through Trinidad, do yourself a favor and stop in--you won't regret it! read more

Meh! The place is a lot going on but not in good way. The food is expensive, the food is just okay and the portions are small. The restrooms are dirty and they also have thrift store with crazy expensive old clothes that you can easily find at goodwill for a fraction of what they are selling them for. read more

No kidding some of the best brunch food we've ever had. They had a slight twist to everything that was amazing! We got the Honey Sriracha BLT and the Eggs in Purgatory. My boyfriend is a lover of BLTs and this was by far one of his favorites. Who knew a BLT could have so much flavor! The Eggs in Purgatory were like shakshuka and it was fabulous. It was so good. Drove by Trinidad this weekend and stopped at Almacks Kitchen for brunch! What a cute place and a cute town! Very big open space with big tables and fun decor. Staff members were very friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered the chicken fried steak Benedict as it was one of their specials. Let me just say...it did not disappoint!! The chicken was perfectly cooked, crunchy and tasty! The gravy was delicious, every bite was giving a cozy feeling. 10/10 They also have a small thrift shop attached to it. It was pretty cool! The green chile scramble and Cajun hash were excellent choices for a mid-morning meal. The place was bustling, but the service was excellent. The space was simple but functional. Easy parking is available outside, and it's a must-stop if you are heading through Trinidad or staying there. read more

OMG!! we stayed in Trinidad at the Hilton Garden Hotel center, which was delightful and had breakfast at the Almac kitchen. Can't say enough good things about it. It was a fabulous breakfast probably one of the best we've had in a long time and huge so come hungry! I had the green chili omelette, with sausage and my husband had the egg arugula tomato sandwich on sourdough. Both were outstanding!! This was a great stop on our way home to Colorado Springs. The bacon pancakes were amazing but the stand out was the Sracha honey BLT. It is clear that someone in the kitchen cares a lot about putting out high quality fresh food. The side of fruit had fresh mango! Highly recommend. read more

The BEST breakfast, at the start of my road trip! Clean, with a lovely smiling young hostess and lots of seating. I enjoyed a tasty fresh-brewed decaf, and the plentiful Cajun Hash; potatoes, bacon, green onions, cheese, eggs (sunny-side-up), substituting fruit for toast. A side of grits I added, substituting butter for cheese, and these did not disappoint. Right off the highway on a minor "main" street with plenty of parking. Interior is simple/spacious with high ceiling. Within the building next to the dining area is a curio shop with wonderful clothing and accessories, and also a skate shop (I regret not taking more photos). This was a treat for-sure. Stopped by as we were driving to New Mexico and had a surprisingly great lunch ! Fried chicken & grits was perfection, one of the best Cubano sandwiches ever. Kids devoured tacos and blueberry buttermilk pancakes. Server was friendly even though she was managing while place solo in late afternoon. We went in on a Saturday around 11am and were seated right away. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful in helping us find what would work for my husband's gluten free diet. We ended up with some winners! The Cubano Sandwich was super flavorful and the cauliflower was out of this world delicious! My husband had the rice bowl and he loved his meal as well. This review is not salty, but the food is! Great service, super cute atmosphere. However in a party of four two of our meals were sub-par. The salmon was too salty to eat, and the biscuits and gravy were saturated in a soup rather than gravy and too salty to eat. The other two meals (hash, and creole sandwich) were good. read more

Stopped through for lunch. There was a sign on the door saying they would close at 1:30 for Thanksgiving week. I'm not sure if that is why there was only one waitress and what appeared to be just one cook but that definitely affected our experience. We had the kale salad, Pom Frites, and the Shrimp Poorboy. The Kale salad was good, the Pom Frites were okay as was the sandwich. The only disappointment was the sandwich was presented without the fries which the waitress said came with them. When asked she left and told the kitchen to make some fries. For that reason, the sandwich was completely eaten by the time the fries came out so it was disappointing. We probably won't come here again because even though the food was fair, it wasn't remarkable. read more

Wasn't on the menu but chicken and grits were. I asked if I could get shrimp with it instead. Surprised it was the special that day. I'm going have to say it was one of my best choices ever. No one cooks shrimp correctly so I was prepared to return it but it was nearly perfect. At least the shrimp was. Just two tiny things were not right but the flavor was ALL there. 1. Southern grits need to be in a bowl to keep them warm and they need to be a little thicker to allow the sauce to add more flavor. If they are runny, sauce makes it harder to eat off a plate . (Just saying) I would use a spoon on these to get every drop..!!! With a fork I can get a substantial bite AND grab a shrimp with another bite. These were so good , I can't wait to be hungry again!!! Don't know if the biscuits were homemade but if they are, you should definitely get some to go with your grits... The ambience was great as well, love the decor and also , the wait staff were amazing and worthy of the gratuity you'll want to impart. Make this stop a MUST on your next visit to Trinidad. We were traveling from Colorado back to Texas and stopped at AlMack's thinking it was probably a dive diner with good food. We were delighted and very surprised. It's a laid-back, Colorado-vibe kind of place with a great, different menu. My husband had the Cubano, which he loved, and I had the Big Wagyu Mack's burger with a side of freshly sliced fruit. The burger is thick, but not too thick, cooked medium with a little pink, and it was topped by grilled onions, cheese, and shredded lettuce on a great bun. One of the best parts was the sauce (kind of a play on the Big Mac sauce). It was one of two best burgers I've ever had in my life. The wait person said it was just added to the menu because when they had it as a special it sold out immediately. Good addition, I say. I'm sorry I probably won't be back through Trinidad because we don't travel that way very often. Wait staff was so friendly and sweet. In the past, I haven't had much luck finding good, or even decent, food in Trinidad. But the reviews really got my hopes up for this place! Unfortunately my $18 chicken sandwich was disgusting... The chicken thigh was overcooked and dry, and the biscuit it was served on was literally the worst biscuit I've had in my life, anywhere, from Maine to Arizona! I'm not exaggerating when I say this 'food' wasn't even worth feeding to my dog. Trinidad, your town has no charm, no culture and clearly no taste. It's barely a worthy stopping point to procure gas & weed en route to the good parts of Colorado! To make this experience even worse, both the women working were cold and curt, to the point of being unpleasant. No wonder the place wad almost empty in the middle of lunchtime.
