What a delicious cafe! We ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, as well as buttermilk pancakes. The food was made on the spot and served piping hot. The pancakes were thick and fluffy And I highly recommend the grilled cheese the whole brunch was very filling and delicious! I really enjoyed the diversity of the breakfast menu. They had a lot more than your normal breakfast offerings. The food was great. My only complaint was one of my party ordered the breakfast sandwich that was supposed to come with an ingredient and it was swapped for something that wasn't really comparable. A heads up would have been appreciated. But other than that everything was great and the service was very attentive. read more

We were passing through and the reviews for AlMack's were so positive we decided we need to try it. Our visit got off on a great start with a friendly and helpful server. As a picky, mostly-vegetarian, I usually don't have a lot of options to choose from on a menu, but AlMack's had several things I was interested in trying. We had the rice bowl, black bean frittata, and cauliflower small plate. We loved everything and ate up every scrap. We live 6 hours away and don't have much occasion to travel through Trinidad, but we know we want to so we can eat at AlMack's again! We especially recommend the cauliflower. This place is the BOMB!! I wish I would have found this place at the beginning of my 5 day trip here...I would have come here every day. I would never expect a place like this buried in Trinidad. Talked to Al, the proprietor, and apparently they started 2 months ago. Talking about a tough time to start...and they're still holding on strong...which shows you the quality of the food. My French toast was beyond awesome. My compadre had an egg sandwich...he raved about it. In fact, he ordered the pancakes before we left. I will pay extra for fresh, flavorful, and quality food. Friends loved the fried chicken, spicy chicken sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy. They kept our drinks topped off, and one of the owners checked in. Just a note -- it is inside a food court and has a very limited menu and seating. We shared the French toast with berries which we enjoyed. While the berries were fresh, the blueberries had NO flavor whatsoever. The caramel iced coffee and the orange juice were tasty. A little pricey but worth stopping in for a bite! read more

We are on a road trip and decided Trinidad would be a good stopping point for lunch. So I jumped on Yelp and immediately saw all the star ratings for Almark. I believe them all!! We shared a Cubano sandwich (better than a Cuban restaurant in Denver!) and a Butternut Squash sandwich. We also had a side of home fried potatoes. Everything was beyond expectations. We called ahead and had to wait a few minutes for the potatoes, but they were well worth the wait! The seasoning and onions were delicious. Both sandwich's had tremendous flavor. The flat bread for the Cubano was Awesome. We will definitely have to go back on our next road trip. read more

To say this place was magical would be an understatement. In my 21 years of life, this is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the ambiance, to the customer service, to the flavors, there is nothing I can't compliment. Let's start with the ambiance. As soon as I stepped into the door, I felt like I had been transported into a cozy 70's lounge. The orange sun shined beautifully against the hardwood floors and vintage dinner tables. The music completed the aura, with a mix of slow jazz, to old Lana del Rey, to 70's artists. The whole place seems to be stuck in time (in the best way). Next, the two wonderful women that served us were beyond incredible. Our direct server took the time to give us recommendations on local attractions, and the best menu items. She reminded me of a 'cool aunt' who has several cats and makes homemade cinnamon rolls in her free time. Another woman also blessed us with her presence when she came up and asked us about our travels. She was a bit older and I felt like she was my long lost grandmother who I could just talk with for hours. If I were staying in town for longer, I would want to be her best friend. The food was outstanding. I got the egg sandwich, which from the outside sounds like a simple choice, but was anything but that. Okay maybe I'm over exaggerating a little bit, but it was really good. Perfect portions, outstanding flavor, whole ingredients, and just an overall well rounded meal that kept me satisfied. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the chef came out with a steaming plate of fresh baked muffins. You know I had to cop one of these, I mean come on. Haven't tried it yet, but it's sitting warm in my lap as we speak and i guarantee it will be amazing. I thought it couldn't get any better. I was wrong. The grandmother lady came up to me and advised me to check out the green room before I headed out, where they sell some plants, vintage clothes, and knick knacks. She knows me too well. If you have a chance, you have to stop by this restaurant, you will not regret it. I feel like I have been baptized and reborn. I am contemplating turning around right now and eating a second brunch.
