Location is easy to find. I havent tried local chinese food in this area but was ready to try something new. Glad we did. This place is authenic. Theirs two asian women greeting, waiting, cooking, serving, cleaning, cashiering. Love their hustle! We started with complimentary hot tea, served on the table in a kettle. Complimentary soup as well, my husband got the house soup and I had to eat most of it, its brown with this awesome broth and noodle. I got the egg drop soup and I am not sure how the got a great chicken broth to shine but it was so flavorful. I ordered salt & pepper shrimp with fried rice and my husband got the orange chicken with steam rice that also came with an eggroll. They didnt ask for our drink order but did bring glasses of ice and a water pitcher. My shrimp was very good, first time I have eaten shrimp shell but it was fried so crispy that it didnt bother me. The portions are large. They serve everything in containers so its easy to pack up & go. The experience was very quick too, which we enjoyed!!! I will definately return!!! The food was amazing and the amount that you are served has been enough for my husband and me for three meals each. That's great for us because we love leftovers. They must have just started with dine-in. You do still eat out of a take out box, but that was convenient as my mom and I both weren't able to finish the ample lunch portions (and usually I can). Very welcoming with hot jasmine tea and super fast service. Definitely recommend for takeout or dine-in. Mom got the orange chicken, which I usually don't like (usually too much batter), but I had a taste of hers and was good. I got vegetables with garlic. Their Volcano Chicken is wonderful! Only downside is there is no dining inside. So you have to take the food to go.

I am in no way impressed. I decided to try Great Wall only due to the high Yelp rating it received and I won't trust that again in my decision making. For COVID-19, only takeout is available and that is fine. Ordering was quick and simple. When I got home and opened the wonton soup, beef broccoli and what was supposed to be shrimp and lobster sauce, I immediately noticed a foul odor, at least one I have never encountered with any other Chinese I've had. Now to be as fair as possible, I am in the area temporarily on a job assignment and have never been in this region before. I lived in Colorado Springs for five years and the Chinese 2 hours north of this place is very much different and in no way comparable to this restaurant. I have traveled across the US and never tasted or smelled Chinese food such as this. The soup, fried rice and plain lomein was nothing to keep around either. Trashed it as well. I really don't know how folks have rated it so high, maybe because it is what they are used to here? All I can say folks is you need to get out more. Sorry, but you'll understand once you go elsewhere in the US and try the authentic Chinese cuisine. My wife and I were in Cripple Creek recently and ate dinner at a Chinese restaurant before the pass and I was wowed!! It was super tasty all the way through so it has something to say for this establishment. Needless to say, the food went to the trash. They had a sign posted at takeout not to even bother asking for a refund on any food items. I should've known right then it would not be that good but again I relied on the reviews. The food is good it wwas just that the lady waitress was so mean. I ordered won tons I LOVE won tons idk what happened but I didn't get the right won ton there's a different filling in it and it wasn't cream cheese or anything it like something brown and I dk what that is. I'm also a vegetarian so I didn't know if had meat in it cause it looked liKe meat. I got the lady waitress and told her that this must be some mistake that I didn't order this I wanted to won ton normal one? She talked back to me and then refused to come to the table I was stuck with the dish. My bf came out and got her back she talked back again and got someone else. The man that came out was very nice and made the situation way less hostile took a different won ton it still wasn't the right one. I was I in tears by then I just didn't even want to eat the food or be in the place anymore it was too uncomfortable too hard enjoy food I deeply regret making the choice to eat at the Great Wall vs wonderful house I just wanted to enjoy my favorite food which is Chinese food. The second best of the three Chinese restaurants in Trinidad. I have come here a couple times for lunch. The food is solid, and portions both appropriately sized and reasonably priced. I personally like Wonderful House better, but Great Wall is a good second choice. 2 lunch entrees = $15 read more

Although I haven't been to any other Chinese restaurants in Trinidad, I am giving Great Wall four stars because of their excellent effort, which more than makes up for the Dollar Store decorum. We ate lunch there on our way through, because they had "exotic cocktails" advertised on their outdoor marquis, which we were in the mood for. Turns out they're just regular cocktails, but they make them look very nice. We really liked how prepared they were for the lunch rush, which arrived about five minutes after we did. They had menus, a carafe of water, all condiments, and a bowl of crunchy wonton strips on all the tables, so no energy would have to be wasted on that later. The server took our drink and soup order the second we sat down, and had our soups and drinks on the table in about 3 minutes, and don't forget-we had "exotic cocktails". The cook delivered the attractively plated food himself, which we appreciated since Chinese food doesn't age well under a heat light. It's clearly a family run biz, as grandma was cracking the whip on the younger female servers and grazing the dining room to attend to customer needs, and tween kids ran around clearing and resetting tables. I had a long island iced tea and the garlic chicken. My husband had a volcano and the sweet and sour trio. A bowl of surprisingly tasty noodles was served in addition to our meal, as was a pot of tea. Both were apparently complementary, and I was given a turquoise candy machine ring with fortune cookies and the bill. The food has no MSG, and wasn't too greasy. We really enjoyed it and prices are cheap ($5.95 for a shrimp dish that had 8+ large shrimp and plenty of veggies!) The "lounge" is really more of an extension of the dining room. The bar isn't used as a bar, but looks like it is used more for storage. The women's restroom and dining room were very clean. My husband said the men's room was very clean, except for the soap dispenser which he described as being encased in "deep funk" (so men...take your own soap!). read more

Great meal. We had hot and sour soup, it was savory and the perfect starter for a chilly evening. The crunchy little egg rolls were cooked just right. I had the two delights: shrimp and scallops sautéed with Szechuan sauce and veggies served with noodles. It was delicious . My hubby had the orange chicken with fried rice and that was great too! Delicious food. Blows the other Chinese place's food out if the water. Love the weird decor. It doesn't actually make sense. There are grape vines and odd pictures of animals around. Waitress is nice although she's very blunt. Loved the light house table cloths didn't fit at all haha. Returned and they are now black table cloths. Upon paying was given a free gift. this place is always consistent. i'm from chicago and it's nice to find at least one thing that tastes like home! genuine, fast Chinese food. they were one of the only places that adapted to the covid with a walk up outside service window. call in your order, and it's ready in 10 minutes or less. the lunch specials are a tremendous deal and the menu is fairly priced. read more

The restaurant is clean. The food is good, but some things have like a mildew taste or smell to them. Overall, the food isn't too bad. The decor is eclectic. When you leave you are given a piece of jewelry that most kids would just love. The owners are more than happy to have you visit as you are told thank you quite a few times. With the areas limited restaurant choices, I give this a 4 star. If this restaurant were in a larger city with more competition, it would most likely get a 2. read more
