wow ...what delicious cheeseburgers and fries and onion rings and fried mushrooms a special historical place in Trinidad and lots of pictures of the original building. Fast service and very attentive staff. we live locally and had never been here. Delighted we found this terrific spot. The burger was super yummy and they have gluten free buns which is a great bonus! The fries and salad were tasty. The BBQ sandwich was not what my Texas BBQ tastebuds prefer but my friend liked it. The service was friendly and fast and they kept checking to see if we needed anything. The bathroom deserves 5 stars for its cleanliness. read more

The service is wonderful, our waiter was very quick. The ambiance is good. Great view of the mountain, the inside is very " Old fashioned diner" so not very modern. I personally got a chocolate milkshake and a kids cheeseburger. The milkshake is great not very chocolaty the fries are great and the burger itself is magnificent. read more

Don't let the exterior fool you...this place had great service and great food. Perfect lunch stop on the way through.

It's not a bbq. Nothing there is smoked or even close to a BBQ. Bad service and the cook is rude. Watch your bill, they tried to scam me read more

Hadn't been to Lee's for a couple of years. Decided to go after eye appointment. It's terrible now! My husband ordered chili fries, I thought it was a child's portion! The waitress asked if we wanted an appetizer? I thought onion rings were a side, $5 and change for 6 onion rings as a side. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich, flat as a pancake. The tab was over $30 ! Ridiculous read more

Deffinatly a local hang out. Not realy a BBQ place at all. Bugers and other selections but food very good. Great home cut fries. French dip very good. Small seating area with tiny bathrooms. Not a lot of parking. Pepsi products. read more

This is a hidden gem. First off all don't come if your expecting menu choices like pulled pork, brisket , ribs, and the like. Instead, enjoy homemade Italian sauces smothering absolutely delicious homemade sausages meet balls by plate or sandwich. Wasn't in the mood for a fast food restaurant but didn't want a long sit down meal either so we chose Lee's. I had the ribs and wasn't disappointed a bit. Good portion and they literally fell off the bone. Friendly wait staff and it was priced just right. Next time we are stopping at Lee's when we come through Trinidad. read more

Terrible terrible terrible have always left feeling sick a little while later. Oily coating on everything. Like most places in town eat at your own risk. read more

I was so excited when I discovered Lees barbecue a few years ago, because the hamburgers remind me of the delicious ones you used to be able to get at carhop Drive in's back in the 1960s! It's the only place in Trinidad that has a gluten-free bun, and the only place that I know of that makes hand cut fresh french fries which are delicious!! It's not very big and the menu is simple but everything we have ordered is consistent and good. Definitely worth a stop when you are in Trinidad Colorado. read more

What we ordered: two cheeseburgers made exactly the way they are listed on the menu, a side of fries and root beer float. This place was very good and recommended by locals. The burger wasn't overly large, but very filling and you could tell it was made with good quality ground beef. The French fries were fantastic and we enjoyed the root beer float A LOT. Overall super good and we would definitely eat here again next time we are in town! read more

Ordered wings to go. When we went to pick them up we asked for ranch as a dipping sauce and we were charged approximately 75 cents for what seemed a tablespoon of ranch. No dipping sauce for carry out even McDonald's gives you a complimentary dipping sauce. The fries they include are disappointing. You can pick up a small order of fries at McDonald's and get more of a serving and pay less. Customer service is not what it use to be. Recommendation don't order to go since you never know what your going to take home. The Wing Pit might seem pricey but you get what you paid for. Unfortunately It gave them a star for my review which is a default. read more

I was traveling through Southern Colorado heading towards Phoenix with my mother and a friend had told us we had to stop in Trinidad, Co. and eat at Lee's Bar-B-Q. This was prolly the biggest culinary mistake I have made in my adult life. First, I will touch upon the service. It can be described in one word. Nonexistent. That is of course until you ask for a bill, at this point the Waitress looks at you and gives you a number without even looking at a ticket or anything. I then ask for a written out ticket, she sighed and listed out the items I ordered and the price. So I just gave her my card to get the heck out. She returned fast with the receipt for me to sign then hovered over me until she saw I had crossed out the gratuity line. then she walked off in a huff. Now the food. I ordered Ribs which my friend had recommended. (took ten minutes to order in the deserted place) and My mother got the fried shrimp. I should have known something was up when the food came to us within 5 minutes. Her fried shrimp were the standard type of fried butterflied shrimp you can buy in bulk from a Cosco. There were only four of them with a Price tag of 10.20. The true disaster of this were my ribs. I bit into the first one and the meat was gritty. And the BBQ sauce that they were "famous" for was only seasoned tomato paste. I put down the first rib and in good faith attempted a second one. It to was gritty but worse much much worse the meat was grey!!!!! Now, in my experience gritty grey meat is never a good sign. They had pre-cooked and frozen the gorram ribs and only reheated them (prolly in a microwave) when I ordered. End result. From the two bites I had my stomach is declaring war on the rest of my body and my body feels akin to Poland atm. Stay away from this place. If you value your stomach, your time, or just have better sense then me stay away! read more

This a a Trinidad institution. Mention Lee's and you either get glowing nostalgic reviews, tales of how it's not what it used to be or flat out "great" or "horrible" musings. I've only had Lee's a handful of times. Most when I was a kid. My memories of Lee's surround hot summer days running there from Kit Carson park and chowing down on burgers and fries with my friends and cousins. By the time we made it to Lees, we had swam all day and ended up playing at the park. We were plenty hungry by the time we hit Lees up. I recently brought my kids there after a day of swimming. They are on a mission to review all Trinidad restaurants. The verdict...7.5 out of ten. The greasy limp fries and small portions accounted for most of the lower ratings. The classic big brother was a hit. It's significantly smaller and much more expensive than when I was a kid. Sign of the times...?? The onion rings were ok, a measly 6 per order. The shakes were old school and my kids were all about them. My son absolutely loved the sonic style nugget ice in his soda. I mean, who doesn't appreciate a great nugget ice? Overall, the service was quite slow, the food, not like I remembered but my kids, not having knowledge of what used to be, liked it. The bill ran us a cool $70ish bucks to feed 4 of us so not exactly economically practical, especially given the portion sizes. Hey, has that Vienna roll shrunk over the years? read more

Restaurant was dirty, waitress was eating at the counter without washing her hands before delivering orders. The food is just gross and all looks the same. I would like to say I am less hungry, but I don't know how long I can keep this food down. read more

We were trying to find a local favorite on our way home to Texas from Colorado...and that we did. Not at all what we expected but good all the same. The small dining room, diner feel, and attached old school drive in made it a fun place from the beginning. The food was good but nothing spectacular. My husband had the French Dip. The meat was good but nothing out of the ordinary. My son got their famed Chili Burger. This was a burger patty covered with chili and French fries. Odd combo but he liked it. I got a bacon cheeseburger. Small patty but tasty. The best part was the atmosphere not the food in my opinion. read more

Food was good, service was fabulous and quick. I agree with most of the reviews on it being more of a burger joint then a bbq place but regardless it was good! My hubby got a red chili burger and I got a cheeseburger. Both were yummy! Would go back if we find ourself hungry and here again! read more

Great spot! Pulled pork & that vinaigrette slaw with it was really good. Fast and proper service. Going back for sure. Friendly service. Amazing view of the entrance corner to the beautiful Kit Carson Park. read more

Ok, First off, this isn't a BBQ Joint. the name is from when it first opened in the 1930's, so don't go in there expecting BBQ, I would suggest Yelp change it to a Italian Diner, instead, but I wouldn't know who, or how to get it changed. Now as for the food, it is actually pretty good. Ordered the Godfather sandwich which was and Italian sausage, with Anaheim Chili peppers, and cheese. along with some red sauce for kicks and grins. The sausage was tasty, not dried out, or bland. Just the right amount of spice. I can't recommend the Spaghetti, but my friend who I went there with enjoyed it. As for the service, I had no problem with it, the wait staff, were always present, and it didn't take to long to get a refill for my Ice tea. Looking forward to going back there and trying the Chili-Burger. Decent food, at average prices. Not a 5 star restaurant, definitely a Diner, but I will be back. read more

We went here expecting BBQ and found 1/2 the menu was burgers. We ordered an Italian sausage sandwich, a Italian roast beef, & a meatball sandwich. We were all very pleased with the meals, but not at all impressed with the fries. Good food we'll eat again when we're in Trinidad. read more

Under new ownership. I had gone here about a year ago and it wasn't even worth writing a review. Now, it is cleaned up and has a good dose of nostalgia. The sauce is unique (never had relish as an ingredient in BBQ sauce before), but still good. With a try if you are passing through. read more

Lee's Bar-B-Q would be receiving 3 stars if it had not forgotten my salad, extra dressings, forks, and utensils. My family has come to the conclusion that it was in another bag that was left inside, which is fine, it's a mistake. What is not a mistake is not answering the phone. When I called, they were closed, but only had been for a few minutes, and knowing that they made a mistake, they 110% should have answered the phone in hopes that it was the customer calling, just to clear it up. They didn't. The reason beyond my missing salad, is that the food was meh. The bbq sauce was as bland as Kansas, the fires were soggy, the cod was not great, and very small for the price, the coleslaw was flavorless and I couldn't tell there were pickles in the fried pickles. The spaghetti was great, and our attendant was very kind and personable. Those are the ONLY reasons that this restaurant receives two stars. read more

Delicious food!!! Definitely worth the detour off the HWY. Ask the waitress for their recommendations and you won't be disappointed. We came in on a Saturday night at 6:30 and the place was packed. Still the same old delicious Chile fries and Big Brothers as always plus a few more new items on the menu!! Every time I visit Trinidad I stop by and get my usual ! I thought this was a BBQ restaurant... There were very few BBQ entrees on the menu, so I went with the BBQ sandwich. It tasted more like Chicken Parm, they had an Italian tomato-based sauce on there! It seems more like an Italian place that does BBQ than visa versa. Don't go if you're craving BBQ, go if you love Italian! read more

So glad to see that this place has re-opened under new ownership/management! Saw it in the Trinidad newspaper that my mother subscribes to in California. I love their hamburgers and the sauce is one-of-a-kind! Go to this place when you are in Trinidad....you won't be disappointed! read more

Kinda gross. Low grade burger meat, coleslaw was cabbage with Italian dressing. There is a reason it's cheap.

The burgers are always delicious and the service is always relatively quick. It's not hard on your wallet and way better than any fast food place! read more

What is a trip to Trinidad without stopping in for a Big Brother with some chili cheese fries. Been coming here for the past 12 years and they have yet to serve me something I don't like. Yeah there's plenty of other places to eat but hands down this is my favorite. One stop coming into town and a quick stop on the way out of town for a milkshake.
