This is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant. My meals have been as expected - good portions, quality good, variety good. They are a solid plus to the La Junta restaurant environment and have been around for a long time. Food always ready at pickup time. I had chicken Sechwan (sp), hubby had Ka Pho. They have a wonderful lunch menu which includes egg drop or hot & sour soup, wonton or egg roll, white or plain fried rice . We both had hot & sour soup & egg rolls. The portions are very generous. The food was delicious & excellent! Veggies were really good in the meals. The service was very quick and food was served in a timely manner. The restaurant was spacious & clean. I would definitely recommend this place. The meal was quite reasonable & one of the best I've had in a long while. Items are made to order not made ahead of time which causes veggies to wilt! These were fantastic! If you are in the area, you should stop. There aren't a lot of healthy options in this town. I love using Yelp to read reviews & make choices from them. Not a single clue why this place has so few stars. The man who took our order was patient, apologized for inconveniences, thorough, and kind! This place was AMAZING! We were driving through, and called ahead. I asked for shrimp fried rice and no onions. My partner ordered some chicken meals but they had run out of chicken for the day due to how busy they were earlier (we ordered an hour before close). Instead he got a sweet and sour seafood meal without pork and he loved it! The egg rolls were fully veggie and tasty. The fried rice was without onions, hot, and flavorful. They packed us forks, soy sauce, mustard, napkins, and chopsticks in the bag. The lovely man told my husband that it took a little longer due to forgetting to take the onions out initially, but he remade it as soon as he recalled. It was ready when we arrived (15 minutes as he said!) and honestly had no clue. Definitely stop here! read more

But it's just efficient because this family is working themselves to the bone running this place. The food is actually amazing. So glad my husband and I didn't read all the other reviews before eating here! We might have really missed out on a great meal. For us, Bamboo Panda was perfect. We came in the evening for dinner and found the spacious dining room very clean. From the outside, we couldn't tell if it was take out only but it's definitely conducive to dining in as well. Everyone we encountered was polite and helpful. We shared the Asian style salt & pepper tofu which was utterly delicious & cooked to perfection (great texture) and mixed vegetables, which were widely varied with a lightly flavored sauce and just enough spice. Admittedly, we didn't see much difference at all between their steamed and fried rice. That was definitely odd to us too, as we're used to fried rice being browned by addition of oil & soy sauce and typically with diced carrot, onion, and egg. This was white with a tiny speck of egg here and there. That wasn't a problem for us but I do think it's atypical for Americanized Chinese food. read more

Very good Chinese foods. We had the sweet and sour pork which had a lite batter but was perfectly cooked and a well balanced sauce. Also tried the udon noodles with shrimp and chicken. I don't know if we came at a bad time or what but everyone one of our food items was bland BLAND. I had to add so much soy sauce and I couldn't even save the egg drop soup. While on a road trip to Denver and using my yelp powers I found what apparently had the reputation of a great Chinese joint! After getting there, taking forever the wait staff to acknowledge us an bring us drinks. The menu was a little underwhelming but had your stereotypical items in it. I got what was suppose to be their best dish.unfortunately It was slimy and tasted like it was warmed up straight from a can. :/ Not sure if these helpers just don't get out much or if they were just on an off day. All 4 of us in the party left unsatisfied. So if your thinking of finding something local and delicious when passing through the area..... Look elsewhere. read more

Love their lunch menu, it has great prices, big selection and you get lots of food. Entree + choice of rice + cup of soup(hot and sour rocks) + either cheese wonton or eggroll. I go crazy over the kung pao combination, hunan beef, and mongolian beef. It is the go-to spot for our team when we go out to eat. They've recently had a fire, and I think they will be closed for a while until October or November of 2015, but I'm anxiously awaiting their re-opening. It's very common for them to bring out meals at the same table at different times, often with very long periods between the time the first plate comes out, and the last. You can get better Chinese food at fast food chain restaurants or from the frozen section in the grocery store. This place has mediocre food and terrible service. The dinner "combination" plates consist of an entree and rice. Nothing more. The fried rice is only white rice with the hint of egg tossed in. The Orange Beef had quarter-sized chunks of black, hard, inedible charred orange peel floating in the sauce. The "pot stickers" were cold, mushy, previously-steamed dumplings. And the absurd price for all of this was almost $30, for two people! I can go to an Asian buffet in Rocky Ford or Pueblo and get all-you-can-eat, plus better quality, for less than $10 per person. Worst of all, the people who were working there at the time were rude and disrespectful, especially the man who waited on us who could not have cared less of our impression of him or the place. It started the moment we walked in and because I don't know him, I don't believe it was personal. He seemed offended that I only wanted to drink water. He seemed put-out when I asked for a spoon to eat with....and then he begrudgingly brought a large serving spoon. He seemed irritated after asking "do you still want fried rice?" after he had already brought a meager portion for my friend's food, and I responded "yes". Because it was part of the entree order he should have automatically brought it to the table and he surely shouldn't have been irritated that I wanted what I had ordered and would eventually pay for. It truly was one thing after the next with this tough, crude fellow. Who hires a person like this to represent their business? I ate at this restaurant right after they reopened following the fire and everything was excellent. The food was well-prepared, generous portions, great rapport with the friendly waiter. It's why I returned. After my experience last night, however, I will not set foot in there again until I am somehow convinced that conditions have improved. I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants in my lifetime, some like this have an array of flavors from around the country and some are catered to Americans. Here you will find them all, the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu items, they are courteous and fast but they do not smile enough, some just look like they are bored but still do their jobs. The menu is typical of any Chinese restaurant and is categorized well. You get what you order and it is super fast and hot when they bring it out. Unlike another poster from Denver said, his food was 'slimy' well guess what, a lot of Chinese food IS slimy, had he asked about the items before hand he would of known what to expect! the Pot Stickers are divine, and the braised shrimp in a spicy sauce is delicious. They do not rush you out the door like other places once you are done, you can stay and chat, you always see friendly faces in there. One bad note, no delivery.. YOU NEED TO DELIVER lol!! :) read more
