Indian food meets tacos!
Jennifer G.

Excellent food that was hand made. Knowledgeable waitstaff. Excellent wine list. Varied menu from burgers, French, and Indian fare. A great dining experience!

Chicken tandoori tacos on Naan bread

View was beautiful. Service and food wonderful. I had the tandoori chucjen tacos on Naan bread. Hubby had a cheeseburger and fries. It's next to a Days Inn and worth the stop.

Wow!! This was an unexpected gem. We drive to CO often from Texas and have expected pretty basic food along the way. This is the opposite!! Delicious and authentic with excellent service to go with it. Luckily other people posted to warn us not to be fooled by the location attached to a Days Inn. Normally bargain hotels are not known for excellent food. This one breaks that stereotype. We had chicken tikka masala and Tandoori lamb. Both were excellent! We also had calamari which had a light coating that was crunchy while the calamari was tender. We will go out of our way to come back!

this was an unexpected new favorite spot! The ambience and location is not my favorite, but the food was absolutely amazing. I cannot believe the quality and just overall amazing food. I ordered filet mignon, mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms with the butter garlic sauce. The only thing I did not enjoy was the mashed potatoes, definitely go with a different side but the steak was INCREDIBLE! Perfectly cooked, amazing roasted garlic, the mushrooms were one of my favorites. My partner ordered the fish and chips and the batter was fantastic. We had crab cakes as our appetizer and why was there more crab inside than most nice restaurants and they were VERY affordable. Make sure you call ahead for a window seat!!

The location is not ideal, but trust me, you won't want to miss this spot. The interior and service is definitely more upscale, which is reflected in the prices. Garlic Naan. Some of the best I've had. It wasn't too thin and had just the right amount of seasoning. Butter Chicken. Oh so lovely and creamy and dreamy. There was great flavor and it didn't taste too much of tomato, which is the base for the sauce. They serve a lot of different cuisines, so there's something for everyone.

The view

Wow. Absolutely outstanding, the service and food is truly amazing. I drive through Trinidad and never stop, did this about two dozen times for work. I stop with the wife; this place absolutely knocked it out of the park with a full bar, the steak was amazing, same with the pork loin and I'd commit a felony on the tiramisu.

And while there were several really great looking restaurants in the area, it was even too much effort to order delivery. So we pulled up the menu for Gagliardi's and ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, Chicken Fried Elk, and Chicken Piccata. All three items were amazing. No regrets, no notes, other than I feel like the packaging could be a little different. Something that retains heat a bit better or some kind of package that doesn't feel like our fried items will melt the package would be better. But obviously as you can see, that didn't affect my rating at all because everything was so yummy. Yes, the meal was pricey, but I feel like it was worth it.

Sat down and ordered a margarita, was told there was no margarita mix prepped. 1st what self…read morerespecting bar makes a margarita from a mix.... Ordered a simple cheeseburger. Came out without onion or pickles and completely dry. No Mayo, mustard, ketchup, aioli, thousand island, nothing. Just dry. Burger was overcooked to beyond recognition and had zero flavor. Really it was the only thing to taste since nothing else was available, and surprisingly there was zero flavor. Just dry and a reminder that a trip to Burger King would have been 100x better and I hate BK. In fairness, I will say they generally do a better job. But tonight I left disappointed and mad at such a crappy meal. Service was pretty good overall but the waitress made no effort to discount the meal, offer another item that the check was prepared to make, like a PB&J sandwich, etc. I ate it so I would have paid regardless, but at least make an effort in a difficult situation. Overall I blame the management for not stocking the kitchen or training the staff how to handle their failures.

I've been to Raton, New Mexico, many times but this was the first time I'd taken the opportunity to…read morevisit The Steakout at the Palace. It will NOT be the last! From the moment we walked in, we were engulfed in an old school wild west environment. Kitty, or hostess, even had a sheriff badge on! Everything seems original if not restored to 19th century charm. It's truly delightful! The menu is vast and varied, with steaks being the center of attention. However, there's also pasta, burgers, veal, shrimp, and chicken entrees. Steaks, whether ribeye, New York, or filet mignon (bacon-wrapped or not) were priced at $2.50 an ounce for a full dinner including trip to the salad bar. Very reasonable! I'm getting ahead of myself. The waiter quickly brought out tortilla chips and homemade salsa (with famous New Mexico green chili!), and took our drink order. The Steakout might have the best bar in all of Raton with its long list of signature cocktails. It also has many beers and wines, as well as Coke soft drinks. The salad bar is add you'd expect, buffet style, with mixed greens, spinach, and many vegetables such as broccoli, cucumbers, and radishes. Other toppings include sunflower seeds, croutons, and blue cheese crumbles. Sadly, the dressings are limited to oil and vinegar or a homemade vinaigrette, but the latter was really tasty! This is a laid-back restaurant, designed to relax and take in the environment. Sit and talk (no Wi-Fi), enjoy the company of your companions, or make new ones in the bar area (bar seating and tables are available). Everything is cooked fresh! This is NOT going to be fast food! When the food finally DOES arrive, it's all delicious! Wow! The steak! It was so juicy and tender! Perfect! The pinto beans really taste "Texas-style" without any sweetness. Very rugged and wonderful! Our vegetable du jour was green beans cooked with bacon. I cannot describe how wonderful the flavor was! Even beer-battered onion rings.. Perfection! Our cocktails were all flavorful, while also being strong (just $7.50 each, so very affordable). The service from Roman was delightful. He was attentive to refilling our drinks, including water, as well as being knowledgeable about the menu. This experience was simply amazing. We can't WAIT to come back to this incredible journey back in time to this restaurant with exquisite service!

We went to this restaurant with a group of friends this week. I have to say how much I enjoyed it…read more And I don't give out five stars lightly. The restaurant wasn't fooling around when it comes to garlic. You could smell the enticing aroma of it as soon as you walk through the door. The ambience was quaint. It is connected to a hotel which I'd check out if I were traveling through here again. We arrived at the restaurant around 530pm. The happy hour menu had both drinks and some dinner items on it. My companion ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs from the happy hour menu. We were told the portion is the same as from the regular menu. It was $14. ($18 on regular menu.) It was a generous portion with three large meatballs. I opted for the Picatta Pasta at $12 and added four shrimp for an extra $6. They gave me five so I'm not sure if the chef made a mistake or was just feeling generous. I'll say the latter! The dish had tomatoes, capers, lemon, and white wine. The only thing I'd add to my taste would be pine nuts! We both totally enjoyed our meals including the bread! I forced myself to leave a little for lunch the next day and it was even better then! Comments I heard from around the dinner were equally enthusiastic about their meals, especially those who ordered the mussels. We're in town for a week and I don't usually go back to the same restaurant twice when I'm visiting a new location but my companion and I are definitely going back again before we leave. It was a Fri and a bit of busy night when we were there but our server Jillian did a great job and was super nice.
