Once you get what you need, you ca be off to your destination in the matter of a few to several minutes as it's close to I-25. The young lady upfront who assisted me was very welcoming and sweet. Her pleasantness was probably the best thing I got out of the visit. As I stated, what I needed was an iced doppio and possibly a little bite to eat. Whereas they may make great craft beverages, the selection of the pastries was very limited. I wanted something savory but there was literally nothing for me to choose out of what they had (they all looked not-so-fresh sweet pastries. Not sure if they rotate the baked goods.) The shop is kind of cute inside. And it's not only a coffee shop but also a souvenir shop (or specialty retail shop to be exact.) I didn't bother to look at any of the retail items as I was in a hurry to get home. I read others' reviews and one of them said that the shop doesn't have any tables/chairs to sit down and sip your beverage. It's true; I don't remember seeing any. The same person went onto say that they don't have wifi so no work on your laptop is an option. In all technicality, this is a place to shop for retail stuff and grab a cup of coffee and off you go type place. If that still suits you then stop here.

I stopped in with my friend, the staff was very friendly. The barista was telling all about the area and the shop itself. The Ham & Egg on everything bagel was amazing. Highly recommend this place. My friend and I tried the other coffee place in the area but liked this one better which is why we hit it up on our way out of town.

Don't let the appearance or location fool you--this place is an absolute hidden gem…read more You can't even see the restaurant from the highway or the exit ramp. It looks like you're driving into a tiny RV park behind a large white wall, and if I hadn't read the reviews beforehand, I probably would have kept driving. I'm so glad we didn't. The owners were some of the kindest, most welcoming people we've met on our 10 day road trip. The restaurant was spotless--honestly cleaner than many restaurants we've eaten at--and even the large restroom was exceptionally clean. We ordered the burgers and the fresh-cut, house-made fries, and both were fantastic. The burger was one of the best we had on our entire Colorado/New Mexico road trip, and I wish we had ordered more fries! As parents traveling with two young daughters, we especially appreciated how family-friendly they were. They had a huge basket of crayons and coloring books that immediately kept our girls entertained, which was such a thoughtful touch after a long day in the car. If you're driving between Colorado and Amarillo, this place is 100% worth the stop. Trust the reviews, ignore the outside appearance, and stop for a burger and fries. We'll absolutely be back on our next road trip.

A great find in Trinidad -- don't let the location fool you!…read more We were traveling through Trinidad and wanted something better than the usual highway lunch. AlMack's Kitchen turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. It is a little hard to spot from the road, so keep an eye out when you get close. Once you find it, though, it's well worth the stop. I ordered the OG sandwich on sourdough with the herbed aioli and added bacon. It was delicious -- flavorful without being overdone, and the aioli and bacon were a great combination. My friend ordered the smoked salmon toast with capers and really enjoyed his as well. One thing we both noticed was the sourdough. It had just the right crispness -- nicely toasted but not so hard that you have to fight your way through it. That little detail made both dishes even better. Fresh food, great flavors, and a really nice break during a long drive. AlMack's will be on our list the next time we're traveling through Trinidad.

I'm so glad we did! What we loved: * Friendly, welcoming owner and staff. * Excellent coffee. * Freshly made panini sandwiches. * Homemade pastries. * Clean restroom. * Fun local folk art throughout the café that gives the place such a great community vibe. What we ordered: * #1 Turkey Pesto Panini: Absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and made to order. It also came with a bag of chips and a large pickle, which was such a nice surprise. * Cherry turnover: Flaky, buttery, and filled with plenty of cherry filling. * Strawberry rhubarb pastry: Just as delicious. The perfect sweet treat with our coffee. I also wanted to mention that I respectfully disagree with the review that called this place "just okay." I've eaten at cafés all over the world, and this didn't feel or taste average to me at all. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and thoughtfully prepared. You can feel the love that goes into running this place. Whether you're a local or just passing through San Luis Obispo, I would absolutely recommend stopping here. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town!
