I was referred to RX Smart Gear for my next Jump Rope purchase, while visiting another Crossfit facility in Palm Desert. I have also hear from others where we CF that these jump ropes are great, so that again was another affirmation to us. I finally decided to order myself a jump rope and I got mine in one of my fav colors which is Pink handles with a Clear Cable. I also decided to order my hubby one with Black Handles and a Teal Cable, he already had a jump rope from another company. But after trying this jump rope, he prefers this one now. Great product + price and great customer service. No need to visit the location as they ship (reasonable cost sometimes free.) I like the fact that you buy this rope pre-sized (see website) instead of having to adjust it like the BL Aero (I still like my Speed Rope!) Also cool that you can order a custom rope by creating your own look and cable weight. Replacement cables are cheap, so buy an extra if you are not sure on weight. Also, if you skip outside you will wear through the outer cover exposing the wire. Trust me, you will want to toss the cable out as soon as that happens. My last cable lasted about 10 months; I am jumping on a tennis court a couple times per week. read more

I purchased a rope from these guys about 2 months ago. I found out about this company because they came to my BOX and did a demo. Most of the guys I work out with also use RX. Since they are in my town, I went down there and spoke with them. They were very nice to have me come in and try the ropes. They also sized me up for the perfect size. I didnt purchase the rope right there but after a couple of days I decided to purchase online.. They called me the same day and said it was ready for pick up. After using my rope for a couple of WOD's I thought my cable thickness was too thick and realized I purchased too heavy of a gauge. I went back down to RX to purchase an additional rope for my girlfriend and also brought my rope down to purchase a new, lighter cable. RX was super kind to replace my cable at no cost since I had only used the rope a couple of times. This was definitely unexpected and great customer service. I will be a repeat customer and will recommend them to anyone that needs a rope. read more

Lets see, I purchased a custom jump rope and a pair of RX shin guards. Jump rope is great and I recommend their jump ropes. That's about all I can recommend. Ill explain. I had several questions pertaining to both items and the representative could not answer them pat basic of my questions. Also when I asked about why the shipping costs are so high and if I could have shipped the items flat rate ( would have saved 3/4 on shipping) I was rudely told that its not their policy and I have to pay their shipping prices if I want their products. I almost lost it but figured I would purchase anyway cause of the high reviews on their jump ropes. I processed the order and it finally arrived . I opened the box and instantly saw that the shin guards were not good. They have a flap on the bottom that is worn over shoes. Because of this they move around and do not stay in place. I can't return them cause all sales are final. Which is an absurd policy on non custom items. Now I'm stick with crappyshin guards. The jump rope is very good quality. But they have lost me as a repeat customer. When the cable on my rope needs to be replaced I will purchase a new jump rope from another company. RX you got me as a one time customer, good for you. Asa repeat customer , NOT A CHANCE. Buyer beware , make sure you are willing to eat the product cause if you don't like , tough. Karma is a bitch. read more

I visited the RX Smart Gear booth today at the Reindeer Games in Del Mar, and my experience not only ensured I walked away without spending a dime, but it may turn me off to the company altogether. I visited the booth around noon to look for a new rope. I was in "street clothes" because I was there to support my gym members. The booth was empty except myself and a 20-something young man manning the booth. He didn't greet me, but instead quickly glanced down at my non-CF shoes. I walked up the ropes hanging, and asked him what rope widths the company sold, because I needed a thin rope. He said (paraphrasing) "all of our ropes are there," without showing ANY interest in helping me or even looking up. When I said "is this the thinnest rope you have?" he said "do you see any that are thinner?" I have been a CF-er for almost 5 years, and am savvy in equipment, but I was so offended by his attitude that I walked away. What a disappointment since I was excited to try a new rope. I was recommended to RX Smart Gear by others in our gym, but I'm sure they will think twice after hearing about my experience today. read more
