Mine was on Friday, when I stopped by NalPak Group's HQ with an early generation of its vaunted Tuffpak 1050 Gun Case -- in Hunter Green. (Fortunately for me, I live a little over a mile from the shop -- which, for a knife and flashlight guy, is kinda dangerous to the wallet.) These cases are built like Fort Knox, and can carry multiple long guns or, with the right golf bag, a set of golf clubs. The only thing I didn't like about this early-gen case was the top handle, which laid flat on the top and wasn't comfortable to pull the case with for long distances. Fortunately, NalPak improved the case over the years, and the upgrade I most wanted was the new cushioned handle with more room for my hand to pull the case with ease. When I brought the case into the store for the handle, the friendly Office Manager, Annette, who also oversees the retail store, called a gentleman from the back, who looked over the vintage Tuffpak, asked what I needed -- the new-style handle -- and offered to install new wheels (softer roller-blade style -- a definite upgrade), too. After a short wait, my case emerged with the new handle, new wheels, an added internal hook and accessory bag (included on newer models) and a new strap and buckle. I asked what the charge was, and they said zero! How do you top that customer service? It's great to have such an amazing company headquartered right here in my hometown of El Cajon, California. Nalpak definitely deserves a 5 star from the quality products, customer service and price. I love my flashlights and knives so Nalpak is heaven for me. I wish they had more locations but you can always go online. I didn't know about Nalpak for a long time and just happened to come across them on Yelp. Nalpak has a small store front with a nice size warehouse in the back. They sell a lot of good stuff like Pelican everything, flashlights up to 500 lumens or so, first aid kits, 5.11 gear, law enforcement gear and so on. Nalpak just gets better and better each time I go...Thank you Nalpak team for taking the time to show me and bring me up to speed on some of the brands I was as familiar with and ultimately me purchasing the new Zero Tolerance ZT0770CF assisted and it is such an awesome work of art...and at an incredible price. I bought some other gear, some hilarious patches, and will be back for more again soon. They have way more knives in stock in the showroom than appears online and they go out of their way to answer questions and to be helpful. One reason I enjoy coming here is the personal feel of them as a local business and the fact that they actively support local brands and their products. Sometimes these award winning, local, newer brands are hard to come by, especially in person. They have done a great job in their industry of supporting those quality makers we have here in town. It's no wonder Nalpak has 5/5 stars! I came here this morning because I needed a longer Pelican rifle case for my .300 Winmag build that I finally finished. I called yesterday and someone answered immediately and confirmed very quickly that they did have the 1750 in tan which is what I was looking for. I went down today to find them open 5 minutes early. Now this may seem silly, but I thought that was awesome! While I was there I also needed a new go-bag for my truck and they had a great selection of 5.11 gear, so I snagged one of those too. Finally, as I was inspecting my case and preparing to check out, I noticed a glass case of high quality knives. I pulled out my very used, but very trusty Benchmade and decided I hadn't bought a new knife in a few years, so I began looking at the multiple glass shelves. I finally set my eyes on a Strider which I had wanted for a while, but had never found in person, so I bought that too. It was definitely an expensive morning for me, but their prices are on par, if not a little better than other local shops and the quality of service I received was outstanding. The case they make is unique and form nicely cut. For the expensive price I think it still worth it and I am willing to pay for the premium price for the product. However, shipping charges are ridiculous. For my 65 dollar case I had to pay $20 more for shipping. And because of the high shipping charge, their customer satisfaction becomes a joke because if I am not satisfied and want return a case I had to lose $40 on back and forth shipping which means even though they accept my return I only get like &45 refund which is like half refund. read more

These are good people. I ordered a newly introduced product from a company through the folks at Nalpak. I inquired about delivery and this is when I found out that the product was new enough they had not received the first shipment yet. This was unfortunate news as I was in a bind. Bought my flashlight here for a great price. I was even able to test it out before buying since they have a display of flashlights. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is due to their customer service. I probably waited about 5 minutes for the cashier to even acknowledge me. She was too busy talking to her coworker and once she was done she went on the computer. I had to tell her I wanted to make a purchase in order to get service. I felt like they didn't consider me a customer since I look young? This is a little known tactical supply store in east county. Most people are aware of their website, but have no idea there's a small show room you can walk in and buy anything off their website. Also in my experience there, the items in the show room are cheaper than the listed prices on their website. This is the cheapest tactical supply store I've been to yet and it's not ran by Mark the shark from ace. They offer a small selection on uniforms for local police and sheriff's agencies but their real selection is in flashlights, knives, holsters and molle gear. They have a clearance section too. Ok, so I'm just getting into pocket knives, and start watching YouTube to educate myself. I ran across a brand(microtech) that peaked my interest and decided to go check them out in person. So I went to a bunch of places, Turners,Dicks,SoCal Gun,Discount Gun, and the selection sucked to put it lightly.. I went on to the Microtech site and looked for a retailer within 100 miles, and low in behold there was one in El Cajon. So I took myself to east county and was I surprised. THEY HAVE A LOT OF KNIVES! And not just expensive, but ever price point.. So I bought a knife for my Dad for father's day, which they were kind enough to send out($7) for me. The super cool ladies at the front also added a card with his knife ,I didn't know this till I went back and they told me.
