The staff is so nice here! I came in thinking I needed to replace my bowstring but instead he looked it over and waxed/tightened up my bow for me and even gave me an impromptu lesson which was super helpful. I'll be coming back here for all my archery needs. Thank you so much, bow and arrow shop! read more

Don't think of going anywhere else. Great bunch of knowledgeable men ready to help you out. From beginner to advanced, you can't go wrong.

The customer service at this establishment is the best I have come across in my entire life. The atmosphere they create makes you want to come by and just hang out with the employees in the store. SERIOUSLY, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE to buy a bow. This is the only place you need or will want to go from your first visit here. While I was buying my bow, the employees were servicing a customers bow that they purchased at another establishment and they treated the customer as if he was a lifetime loyal customer! Ernest helped me out and got me set up with this PSE DRIVE NXT. They worked around my budget while. The whole experience was great. They took their time with me. Answered any question I had. I never felt like I was being "sold" anything at any point. I truly felt like I have created a friendship with Bruce and Earnest at the shop from my experience coming here. I have been in and out of this shop multiple times checking out a bow and getting sized and shooting a few different bows before I landed on this one. For the price I am very happy with my purchase. I would recommend this bow to anyone and I would advise to only go to this shop for any bow and arrow needs. Bruce you are doing a great job and your shop rocks! read more

This shop provides a first class customer experience. I highly recommend them for all your archery needs. If you're new to archery, they have everything you need to get set up from scratch. Their knowledge and expertise is incredibly valuable. Thanks Bruce and Bow N Arrow Shop team! read more

Bow N Arrow Shop - My first bow! - Archery Near Me - Lakeside, California

I had one of the best customer service experiences in my life here. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Bruce. I have an older Bowtech Carbon Icon that I haven't shot in over 5 years. I came in to have someone look over my bow to make sure that it was still good to shoot and to buy some new arrows. Not only did Bruce help me out with that he went well above and beyond and helped me reacquaint myself with archery in general. He helped tighten up my general shooting techniques and gave me all kinds of tips. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I ended up buying a new arrow case and hip quiver as well and I'll look at doing some upgrades to my bow in the future. This will be my go to archery shop from now on. Thank you so much! read more

Can't say enough great things about this shop and Bruce! He is knowledgeable, welcoming and clearly loves the sport. Bruce was patient and wanted us to purchase the correct bow, not just make a sale. Thank you! read more

Top notch staff and true old school customer service. They treat everyone like an old friend and genuinely offer help and info. Every customer is personally helped whether you're buying a new bow or need to spend $20 on an accessory. No other shop compares. read more

I came in with my son with a low quality compound bow grandma bought us on Amazon. They tuned it up, showed my son proper form on how to fire the weapon, and treated us well. Very good experience. read more

These guys are awesome! I'm a first time female (now bow hunter) & I admit I was super intimidated by the sport... but these guys are phenomenal at what they do! I felt super comfortable, the selection was great, the prices were just right, and all the dudes in there were super nice! Funny as hell, but know what they're doing! I highly recommend as they also took care of my expert BF's bow & got him dialed in from a bad experience elsewhere. Bruce & Joe were helpful & honest & it was fun! We will be back for all of our tune ups & add ons & supplies! Check them out... they're a pleasure to experience! read more

Bow N Arrow Shop - Archery Near Me - Lakeside, California

Showed up having NEVER shot a bow before. Nick got me all measured up and had me shoot multiple bows until I found one i was comfortable with. Then, he told me to take my time making a decision and NOT to make an impulse buy. I went to another shop immediately after leaving to compare bows/price/service...and after they tried to upsell and rush me into buying a bow from them, I went back to Bow n Arrow a few days later and purchased my first bow. After 150 arrows, i brought my bow back (per Nicks instructions) to get my strings tightened. Ernest took care of me and i watched as he made sure my bow was good to go. He increased my draw weight, had me shoot a few arrows to make sure i was comfortable, and i was on my way. All the guys in the shop are approachable and super knowledgeable. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience here! Great staff worked as a team to help guide us through a purchase and then tailored the bow on their personal range to be a perfect fit for my boyfriend. A complementary lesson was included as well as a check-back after roughly 150 shots. Pricing was competitive and it is ALWAYS worth it to support local business. The colorful personalities made our visit a particular treat! read more

Bow N Arrow Shop - New bow being tailored on the private mini range - Archery Near Me - Lakeside, California

This is the best Bow shop in Southern CA from what I know. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful, Bruce is the Archery Guru who can see methods to improve your form in seconds. They treat you as well if they are selling an accessory or a string or if you are buying a new flagship bow. I've sent several new archers here and not a single complaint about hard sell or being a new archer. Their prices are competitive or beat many of the no service online dealers and they will help you if you ever do need a warranty repair. read more

Best in the business. I've been shooting and hunting for 40 years, and I've lived in multiple places throughout the country. Bruce and his staff are without a doubt top tier. Takes the time to work with any and all skill levels. His people are great and he takes personal stock in every customer. I'd recommend him to anyone. 5 plus stars!!! read more

They sold me an expensive defective bow from Bowtech archery (ss34) that ended up costing me several hundred extra while Bowtech and Bow n Arrow shop failed 2 times to fix it, while selling me more stuff saying it would fix the warranty problem that I'm paying for. Failed to sell a $1350 bow new, failed twice to make it new. The story and photos are on Archery Talk forum under dangerous Bowtech ss34 bow. It's a pathetic display of business and they refuse to take responsibility. Bowtech hides behind customer reps and faceless screen names, Bow n Arrow shop blames the customer. They're both ridiculous and both have no more credibility and will never be deserving of my courtesy, respect, or care. If you work for either one and you don't speak up to them, don't bother me now or in the future. I have no sympathy, care, or respect for you either. This shop deserves 10 stars. Let me also add I don't give reviews freely either so when any place deserves it I will absolutely say what is necessary. I am fresh into archery and what I mean, I've never shot a bow before EVER. The entire staff understands how important it is to allow you pickup a bow and learn to shoot it properly so they're not there just trying to sell you random stuff. Allow me to explain my VERY POSITIVE EXPERIECE. As I walked in, they greeted me and not one bit did they ever acted better than anyone. I walked in with a very slight peek of interest of learning archery the right way (instead of going a big box store buying something random) and they went above and beyond with crazy amount of patience (as long as you're willing to learn). Bruce literally showed me all different types of bows from low priced, mid-range to high end bows by allowing me to shoot every type of bow he had in the store so that I understand how each type of bow shoots and what is best suited for me. He watched my form and taught me how to properly hold a bow with the correct stance (still learning and working on it) so that I can enjoy the proper bow. He's not interested in selling you the top of the line to every customer, he's there to give everyone the chance to enjoy the world of archery the correct way and what is properly suited for you. I had and asked just about all the dumb silly questions and not once did anyone made me feel dumb for it. Because of everyone there graciously taught me the correct way of buying my first bow, my interest for archery is now at 1000% vs just a thought of it. Entire staff does it all as well so if you need servicing of any kind on your bow they will do it as well as custom cut arrows to YOU. I can't wait to dive deep into this sport now and I absolutely will give my business to Bruce and his staff so THANK YOU ALL! read more

Just getting back into archery after 25 year and the team are total pro's. Made me feel comfortable asking questions about things wasn't sure about. Watched them do the same and more for others who were in the same boat over several visits. This will be my go-to shop from now on. read more

Brought my daughter (8yrs old) in on a recommendation from a good friend. I know many shops in Southern California but if you or you know someone who wants to have a hands on, efficient lesson/equipment fitting? In my opinion these guys are the best. They are very friendly and my daughter was center hitting the targets with her new compound on her first shots. Ernest was superb. I live almost two hours away and it was worth every mile.. my daughter is hammering the targets now as we increase #s .. she's 8 and had a great time. We both recommend these guys and will Be back soon. If you're a bow hunter, or want to get equipment set for you for an upcoming season, they will do a great job. Guaranteed . read more

Excellent source for all things archery. I am new to the area and they provided me with many options for shooting my bow.

Bruce and everyone at Bow N Arrow are extremely knowledgeable and great to work with. They carry an impressive selection of the highest quality products and materials and all at very resonable prices. Love the military discounts!!! read more

Bruce and his crew are simply the best! I drove 2 hours to get to this shop and it was completely worth it! They had the exact bow I wanted, and did a full blown tune on it to fit me. They also watched my form and tuned that up too. In all they spent 3- 3 1/2 hours setting up my new bow for me. They also fixed the problems my old shop caused on my other bow. The shop may seem small, but it's packed with all the flagship bows, Mid range bows, and a few entry level. They also have the a good selection of sights, and rests. When you buy a bow there, you can see where those profits go. It goes back into the store, and it's paying for expert techs. These guys are archers. This is the way a bow shop should be. I'll never buy another bow from anywhere else. Anyways, Bruce asked me to send some pics, this is my first trip out, this is my first quiver, at 20 yards. read more

Made my first visit to the Bow and Arrow shop and purchased arrows and a bag target. I admire this place. It reminds me of Barnacle Bills, a bait and tackle shop I used to frequent. The shop is small but laid out well with a good selection of everything archery with competitive pricing. The business has a sense of community with archery scuttlebutt over grinding noises, patrons dressing the part, a customer getting fit for a bow and taking shots in the back. The confusing part was the guys sitting in stools along the showroom floor ( like security guards not dressing the part) and the shop not having Field tips and inserts. Why do they have a large selection of Broadheads but no Field-Tips? I looked everywhere! I soon found out that you take your uncut fetched arrows to the front counter, they cut it to your required length and then they add the insert and requested Field-Tip. The grinding...cutting of arrow shafts...guys sitting....waiting on their arrows. read more

Haven't touched a bow in close to 30 years so when my son told me he was interested in archery, I had no clue where to start. A friend recommended the Bow n Arrow shop. Even though it is close to an hour trek I decided to make the drive and I am happy I did. Amazing customer service and a wealth of knowledge. They took the time to ensure my son was comfortable and got what best suited his size, strength and ability lvl. Not to mention the pointers he needed to start using the bow and make the shot (something I wouldn't have been able to do). With their indoor range He was able to shoot the bow we eventually purchased several times and get it dialed in before we left. He was so excited and confident after his experience and with all the pointers he received that we didn't even make it home before he asked to pull over and start using it. Thanks for all your help! I will absolutely be going back to purchase one for my self. read more

Went to the store today to get a new bow. I can't say enough good things about this place! My buddy (next door neighbor) hooked me up and made an appointment to tune my bow for my birthday (best friend ever!!!). Ernest, Bow N Arrow Shop Staff, was amazingly meticulous. I felt we were not only in great hands, but he really cared about my performance. He did sell me on new release, but it wasn't just a "here this is what you need." He explained very well, how the Bow N Arrow Shop likes to teach their students to use a release. I was used to the trigger style (I grew up shooting rifles), but he got me a very similar release but was more conducive to a back tension style method. It exposed my personal target panic/tendency to punch the trigger. With a little time to get used to it, he really increased my precision with the new release and new technique. Prior to coming in, they told us to be prepared to spend $80-120 for a "full tune up" since they don't know what's going on with my bow. Turns out, we only spent $45. I highly recommend! FYI: These dudes are super intimidating looking (my buddy kept telling me how scared he was when we walked in), but once they get to know you a bit they were super friendly. read more

The guys at this shop are awesome; Bruce, Ernest, and the rest. Extremely helpful, answered every question I had (and I had many), and Ernest spent a lot of time helping me find the best bow for me and fine-tune it after trying a couple different ones. He spent a lot of time coaching me on how to shoot with correct form and I saw Bruce giving extensive coaching to another more experienced bow hunter to dial in his form as well. If you're new to archery and plan to buy a bow, give yourself a solid 1.5-2 hr window as the process will take time but you will be very happy with the result. I've been to the other bow shop in San Diego multiple times and my experience here was far better. If you're in the city, it's worth the extra driving time to come out here instead. You won't regret it. read more

This is an outstanding local business. Prices on all bows are way lower than the competition closer into SD, and the store atmosphere is much friendlier. Jim went above and beyond in terms of customer service, spending 20 minutes with me at target practice even though the shop was quite full. He outfitted me with a forearm guard and was very patient in correcting my stance, draw form etc. I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience, and was so glad to have the opportunity to shoot without having to take a full class or make plans in advance. Thanks to Bow n Arrow Shop's reasonable prices and top notch customer service, I'll be more than happy to make the drive out to Lakeside in the future for all my archery needs. read more

This is the place to go! Great products but the service and attention are second to none. I came in just to look around and ended up with a bow and targets. I have never shot a compound bow, but inside the shop I was able to pick a few bows from different levels and price range and shot. Once I felt comfortable with one they gave me a free hour lesson and custom tuned the bow for me. This was such a great experience, and now I'm completely excited about putting in the practice and repetitions to eventually be good enough to go hunting! read more

I bought a bow from another local pro shop, and the tune-up on the bow they sold me was poor at best. Not to mention, them selling me a stripped-down ready-to-shoot package. But Bruce took it upon himself to make things right. He spent a couple of hours with me getting my bow tuned and even a few upgrades that made a massive difference with a bigger peep and stabilizer. After getting my bow dialed in, Bruce took time to go over my form. I am only a month into archery, but the tips and setup drills he gave me helped me get consistent in my shots. I was already happy with the quality and value of the shop buying replacement arrows. But now they are the only pro shop working on my bow. It's also my go-to shop for anything I need going forward. If they recommend it and have it, I'm buying it from them. I highly recommend Bruce and the rest of his staff to any new archers looking for a solid pro shop. read more

You know those shops you read about that spend all the time with you and actually take care of you? I didn't think they actually existed. Most shops want to sell you something and don't even want to tune a single thing. Bruce and staff are probably some of the best people I have come across and I've visited archery shops every where in CA. They're not after your one time buy business, these guys will take their time to set you up properly, answer your questions, make sure you leave with a full understanding of what you may need and what they did. I was honestly astonished at the level of detail and time they put into setting up a bow. Most places want to bolt everything on and send you on your way. Not these guys, they will check every little detail to make sure nothing is left out of spec. Truly an amazing place and the level of knowledge is something to behold. If you're in the San Diego area, you must stop by. I drove down from Orange County to see these guys. The only thing I regret was not going down there sooner. Truly a world class act with the hospitality and knowledge to back it all. Thank you again Bruce and all of your staff. read more
