Bring your own, and thin metal stakes to affix them to the targets. 2. The distances aren't clearly marked 3. Even if you find a couple distance markers, they aren't accurate. The 30 yard target is 33.5 from the firing line, etc. 4. No bathroom. There's a port-a-potty. 5. No drinking water nearby. 6. The bow stands are falling apart / in terrible shape. There's maybe the ability to hold one or two bows (badly) out there. 7. You have to go for the office and buy an archery permit which is $15 for the year. 8. Hours are roughly sunrise to Sunset (6:00am to 8:00pm in summer months). See signage I photographed for exact info. 9. As in every range, you must bring all your own gear. 10. Please know what you're doing, or have someone in your group who does (and who takes responsibility for your group). 11. It gets hot as hell out there. There's a cover to give some shade but it's insane, regardless. There's no shade at the shooting line. 12. Point your GPS at the Lake Poway Recreation Area to get to the parking associated with this range. 13. Since you have to park your vehicle at the lake Poway recreation area, non-residents must pay $15 per visit. Residents park free. 14. They accept any kind of official mail addressed to your local Poway address to qualify for the free parking pass. So... if you're a non-Poway Resident, and it's your first time there: bring your gear, come during the day, and expect to pay about $30: $15 for parking and $15 for the one year archery permit. Oh and if you come visit during the summer, be prepared for intense sizzling brain-melting heat.

This is the only place you need or will want to go from your first visit here. While I was buying my bow, the employees were servicing a customers bow that they purchased at another establishment and they treated the customer as if he was a lifetime loyal customer! Ernest helped me out and got me set up with this PSE DRIVE NXT. They worked around my budget while. The whole experience was great. They took their time with me. Answered any question I had. I never felt like I was being "sold" anything at any point. I truly felt like I have created a friendship with Bruce and Earnest at the shop from my experience coming here. I have been in and out of this shop multiple times checking out a bow and getting sized and shooting a few different bows before I landed on this one. For the price I am very happy with my purchase. I would recommend this bow to anyone and I would advise to only go to this shop for any bow and arrow needs. Bruce you are doing a great job and your shop rocks!

Very reasonably priced, and the money goes toward maintaining the facilities. Here's what you need to know: * Bring all your own archery gear. * Please be relatively experienced. Know what you're doing, or at least make sure someone in your group does. They should take responsibility for everyone and manage the sight-lines with others shooting around you. * Hours are sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year * Park in the Alcazar Garden Parking Lot in Balboa Park. As of the time of the writing of this review, this location doesn't exist on Apple Maps. It does exist on Google Maps. I've tried to make the location on this Yelp listing as accurate as possible as well, to avoid confusion. * Dont leave anything behind! Leave everything cleaner than how you found it. If you do see any junk on the trail, pick it up and help keep the place clean. * Be extra aware of your surroundings! This is very different from "similar" archery ranges in Northern California I am used to in the sense that everything is packed pretty close together. There are some targets that are relatively close to others that are facing each other. It's not impossible that an arrow could come in your direction, so just be aware of what's going on around you. * Targets 1-14 have been closed for some time. You have to hike through the range, under the bridge, and across to the other side to find the "start", which is Target 15. * Target numbers are not clearly marked, nor is the path. Highly recommend you photograph the trail map posted at the entrance! * It gets insanely hot in the summer. Plan to go early (start 6-7) to beat the heat and the crowds. Have fun out there!!
