We really enjoyed the family time spent here. We wanted to do something different for my husband…read morefor Father's Day and this was a wonderful event out of several that we did for him. We made an appointment and arrived early when we got there they were really nice and allowed us to bring our ice cream from Jenny splendid ice cream around the corner inside. We were finishing up our ice cream and they started to set us up at our ax throwing station. We really appreciated that they showed us how to throw the ax, gave us good tips, and did everything that they could to set us up for success during our time. It was nice to have some healthy family competition. There were 4 of us and so we took up two of the throwing bays, which was really cool. Each of us had plenty of axe throwing turns and the timeframe allowed for us to really enjoy family bonding with each other. My husband had a really good time and we all had healthy competition as a family group. We will be going back. My advice is that you definitely tip the people who work there because they go out of their way, above and beyond, to make us comfortable and to make sure that we know what we're doing. They keep safety in mind and they're very encouraging for those of us who don't want to throw the axe....LOL Thank you AxeVentures!

We also did some axe throwing which ended up being a blast also. The guy working today was so nice and made sure we had a good time. I can't remember his name but big shout out to him! He even took some pictures for us. If you're considering going for either activity, don't hesitate, I promise everyone you bring will have a great experience like we did!

Anyway, my friends and I arrived for our reservation. The person who greeted us was friendly. We had to fill out a waiver and then pay before entering. He gave us a quick talk about the concessions, most of which were not available that eventing. He also gave us a bit of direction as to how to throw the ax. He also told us about the house rules. We settled in for a moment. We had all come directly from work, so were a bit hungry and thirsty. We had planned to get dinner nearby after, but wanted a little something at the moment. Unfortunately, we were told they had no pizza that night, so a pretzel was the only option. Also, they had just a few beer options and three mediocre wine options. My friends each had a beer, and I chose a Sauvignon Blanc. The drinks were fine.... nothing special, but we were there for the axes. Surprisingly, the pretzel was pretty good.. Despite the fact that we had been given a 2-minute tutorial about throwing the axes, most of the games they had made no sense to us. We gained a bit of guidance from the group next to us. I also made an effort to ask our staff person some questions. However, I still feel like we had really not clue how the games worked. We were only given one ax for our group of three. It was just one style. I have been axe- throwing before, and they had lots of different possibilities. I remember that I had fun trying the different styles. In my past experience, they also gave us more education about the games we could play together so we didn't feel so lost. They were also more available for consult. I think Axe-Thro is a fine place to go if you want to throw some axes. It is not the best for bar food and dinks, or if you want a little information on the games you are playing.

A lot of it was broken children's toys with the Good Will stickers still on them. I honestly just felt kinda bad like I was smashing memories. You do get five minutes at the end when they bring a small crate of breakable items, which was fun. Idk maybe prices for junk have increased in this economy. The staff were all really nice. I wish I could do 3.5 stars. I just think the axe throwing would be a better pick of the two options here.

Reina was awesome. She even took photos for everyone before and after the rage room. Bring cash! They have tip jars :) Next we headed back to the front to do some axe throwing. Harper was a great instructor. I'll never forget his advice "back that axe up" Again, bring cash to tip. I'm not sure about the time limit since I didn't book it, but my husband estimated it was an hour and fifteen minutes total. So about half an hour for the rage room and 45 minutes for axe throwing. They sell some snacks and beverages at the front desk. Would absolutely return.
