We booked an hour for a soccer team social and it was a blast! We had enough people to rent out the whole inside area. Xander and Claire were our coaches and they were both great. Xander led us through the safety requirements and then let us practice and take turns while giving follow-up tips. Parents and players had room to move around between the throwing cages. There was a central area with couches and tables for people to hang out too. We could bring in our own sodas and snacks, which was helpful. Awesome first experience axe throwing. I got this via Groupon as Christmas gift for my boyfriend, well more for both so we could have a fun experience together. Super fun place. We went with a large group and everyone took turns throwing and hanging out. Xander gave wonderful direction and some hands on correction for those who were having a harder time and some people who had been before were able to begin learning new techniques. Made us stand around waiting in a room so hot we were sweating for over 20 minutes while they 'made calls' then came back and said groupon didnt give them the money. Super sketch. Went here for the first time yesterday and it was so much more than I expected! You get a lesson in safety as well as the proper way to throw (Tomahawks, not axes). Xander was our instructor and he was absolutely phenomenal! We were a group of 6 and he came around to each of us individually, cheered us on, corrected our posture, informed us what we did that caused us to miss the target, etc. This was such a fun experience that I would highly recommend it to any and every one! We were here for our team bonding activity. there were few parking spots but not a whole lot. this place is on the second floor, so make sure you are able to walk up the steps. This place is a combination of axe throwing and escape rooms. You could do both in one place if you really wanted. There was a guy that explained everything with safety and how you should throw them etc... he seemed like he really likes working here. They also have a lighter axe, if you don't have any muscles like me.. there are scoreboards and different ways to play the games. It was a lot of fun. They also have Game of Throne vibe happening with some giant dragon hanging from the ceiling and they had a throne. I'm not sure why but it was a fun photo-op. First review of 2021 and STILL under covid social despotism ... and we thought they were serious when they said it was only going to be 3 weeks back in March 2020; this makes it covid review #106. ..sigh... ok... at least not every business has closed. Albeit over 50 percent have shutdown... so I'll keep patronizing them as long as I can. Went with a couple of my sisters. I gifted it to them as part of their Christmas present. Although I saw on their website and other reviews that they have a really cool themed indoor area. They've moved all of their c operations outside. We were greeted in the back corner of their parking lot by Philip. He was nice and showed us the ropes since we were all brand new to ax throwing. I was intimidated by the idea of ax throwing, but tried to get over my fear ahead of time by researching tutorial videos online. Philip not only explained the basic fundamentals of throwing, but gave variations of 1 and 2 handed throws. He explained the scoring abs just overall, was a personable, informative, respectful and nice host. After he went inside, we were the only ones outside in the entire parking lot, so we were able to breath freely and I think it helped my performance. I thought the cool indoor private room would've been cool to have. We were the only ones there during our 1 hour slot. So it was almost like having a private room. It reminded me of having a bowling alley all to ourselves. It was actually nice to be outside because we had plenty of shade as well as sun. Maybe when they go back inside, they can keep the outdoors as an option. If you're unsure about ax throwing but want to try it, consider grabbing a couple people you trust won't be unsafe and will have fun, watch a few videos. What a great experience! I took my 12 year old and we both had a great time. The business is clean and well maintained, as well as spacious for a safe environment. Xander was fantastic! He did a great job providing clear and effective instructions before beginning, as well as throughout the course. Had a fun time coming here after a birthday brunch! It was fast and easy to reserve a time and day on their website! Even by Thursday, I was able to reserve Saturday 2:15. Make sure to fill out the waiver online beforehand as well so it doesn't take up any of your axe-throwing time, but it is very short and quick. There is designated parking for Axe Throw SD and if even that is taken up, there is a lot of other parking available as the place is in a business district! Once you walk into the building, you go up the stairs towards the reception area and there should be someone there to tell you to go straight ahead to the room at the end. You'll also pass by what looks like the Escape Rooms waiting area. The person who checked us in and trained us was named Mike and he was very helpful and funny! I came with 2 other friends and he let us pretty much shadow what he does just a couple times until he left us to throw on our own. We actually surprisingly had the whole place to ourself which was great because gave us the comfort to just practice throwing and get better at it and cheer aloud for each other! They have music playing and it really is medieval-themed or more like Game of Thrones themed with even a photoshoot spot where Mike took pictures of us for us. Water and candies are offered for $2 each I think, but we didn't get any. I recommend bringing your own though, especially water and dress lightly because you will sweat a lot! In the axe-throwing room, there are chairs/stools to sit on and decorative barrels as tables, post-its to write names down and put on the wall you're throwing axes at (haha), lists of games and instructions that can be played, and chalkboards in the wall if you want to keep score! We enjoyed this place and are looking into the Smash Room and Escape Rooms as well. It was our first time axe-throwing and we recommend coming here! It's about $30 per adult too. read more

Obsessed! Found this place after reading reviews on multiple sites and locations for axe throwing. This place had the best as well as pictures. To be honest, pictures are what sway my mind to check a place out. I decided to write this review and share pictures after having an amazing time. Will definitely go again! We went with a group of 4....and 1 hour was enough for us all. It's been 2 days since we went, and I'm still feeling the soreness, but it feels great haha. I went this weekend with 3 other people and it was so much fun! We decided on an early afternoon timeslot on Saturday and we were the only ones there. They had sign a waiver before they went over the rules/procedures with us as well as tips on how to throw it. When it comes to the actual game, it a alot harder than it looks. Well at least for us! But after a while we got the hang of it and could play a couple of games they recommend (they have a sheet with the rules and point system). The reason I took a star away was because it was so HOT in there. They had a little AC unit that was barley blowing and we were all sweating since it's basically a warehouse.
