We really enjoyed the family time spent here. We wanted to do something different for my husband for Father's Day and this was a wonderful event out of several that we did for him. We made an appointment and arrived early when we got there they were really nice and allowed us to bring our ice cream from Jenny splendid ice cream around the corner inside. We were finishing up our ice cream and they started to set us up at our ax throwing station. We really appreciated that they showed us how to throw the ax, gave us good tips, and did everything that they could to set us up for success during our time. It was nice to have some healthy family competition. There were 4 of us and so we took up two of the throwing bays, which was really cool. Each of us had plenty of axe throwing turns and the timeframe allowed for us to really enjoy family bonding with each other. My husband had a really good time and we all had healthy competition as a family group. We will be going back. My advice is that you definitely tip the people who work there because they go out of their way, above and beyond, to make us comfortable and to make sure that we know what we're doing. We had so much fun breaking stuff!!! The rage room is a great activity if you need to blow off steam, or have a good giggle with friends. The staff was awesome and so helpful and they provide you with a safety talk before starting. You need to take safety into your own hands once inside - I recommend you only attend with folks you trust. They provide a variety of "weapons" for you to break other items with. You can actually bring your own items in to break (photos of exes encouraged)! They provide you with stuff to break, a helmet/face shield, gloves, and overalls. Wear closed toed shoes and prepare to get sweaty. read more

I love this place. I have gone twice with work friends that needed to blow off some steam and have some fun breaking stuff. Each time the workers were very kind and personable. We took extra glass to break. I love throwing plates! Anyhow you suit up in coveralls, shield helmet and gloves. Just wear light clothing and closed shoes (w/socks). Otherwise you will be sweating. At first, I thought 15 mins wasn't going to be enough, but it was plenty of time with the amount of things we got to smash. Went here to celebrate my sisters birthday. It's a bit hard to locate but it's inside a small plaza with parking in the back. You will find this place with a wooden stand sign outside. Came in for a rage room experience with my boyfriend. For $85 we got to smash objects into smithereens for fifteen minutes. They gave us a safety talk, suited us up and let us go wild while loud metal music plays. The room was hot. Some of the objects were not worth hitting (like a shopping cart) but I will admit I had a fun time smashing some glassware. Purchased a neon rage room experience for my in-laws and wife for her birthday. Overall a unique and memorable activity with a few disappointments. Pros: * Well-curated playlist. * Staff were friendly. * We arrived for our booking early and were offered 10 minutes of free axe throwing, which was a fun bonus. Cons: * Room was a little small for 4 people. * Room reeked of spray paint. * Axe Throwing Birthday Offer: We were initially told my wife could have a free axe-throwing session afterward for her birthday. However, because her actual birthday was the next day, the staff retracted the offer and said we could come back then. This felt unnecessarily rigid since it was clearly a birthday celebration. Biggest Concern: Before arriving for our appointment, I called the business to ask if wearing shorts would be okay. They assured me it would be fine since they provide protective jumpsuits. When our appointment began, the facility ran out of adult-sized jumpsuits, leaving my wife with a skirt version that didn't provide adequate protection. My two friends and I were looking to go to the Greek festival but the rain made us rethink our plans. After hitting Dave & Busters for food, drink, and of course video games we looked for something else to do. We searched Yelp and saw AxeVentures. We all agreed it sounded fun. I don't know if there is a parking lot because we were lucky finding street parking. Something to keep in mind is it might be difficult to find a spot to park if there isn't a lot dedicated to them. We walk in and get welcomed by Angel. This guy is super friendly, funny, has an amazing attitude and helped make the event really fun. He showed us the three axes to throw and the best techniques to use. It wasn't long before my friends and I were crushing bullseyes and hitting the harder Green circles. SO FUN and the employees here are the best! I want to start by giving a major kudos to the gentleman with long hair who helped us during our time there. I didn't catch his name but he was awesome. Gave us clear instructions on axe throwing and the rage room, made sure we were well protected with equipment for the rage room and even provided bottle service in the rage room by giving us new plates and glass bottles to smash every so often lol :) he was super kind, too Axe throwing - 10/10. It's a fun activity! Don't underestimate it, though. It's harder than it looks! And it's a fun challenge. They have a spot against one of their fences inside so you can place your phone and film yourself throwing axes. Rage room - 35/10. We were totally blown away by this experience. We got to smack the shit out of some metal objects, a crockpot, a portable A/C and we threw some dishes, glassware and bottles. Every 10 minutes away, the dude who helped us would knock on the door of the room and bring us new plates and glass to break. In the room, there were a couple of hammers, two crowbars and the guy brought us a sledgehammer during our session. We were exhausted after our time there but felt super happy and had fun! Recently had a moms night out and tried our hand at axe throwing, we had a blast! Need towel a reservation online ahead of time. Upon arrival all the other parties that share that reservation time slot be arriving same time. The staff does a short little instruction before assigning the lanes for your party. There is soda and snacks available for purchase. And throughout the session the staff will introduce a new axe can try. For us ladies the vampire axe was the favorite. I recently did the Rage Room experience with friends, and while the experience itself is excellent and was as advertised, my experience with the customer service was disappointing. The employee named Maria assigned to assist us was extremely unprofessional and rude throughout the interaction. She carried herself as if she didn't want to be there, left in the middle of the service without explanation, failed to provide essential safety instructions, and even displayed disrespect toward her colleagues in front of us. This behavior left a negative impression and overshadowed an otherwise good experience of the Rage Room. An employee named Orion however did an excellent job of trying to still provide good customer service despite being completely abandoned by Maria. He deserves credit for remaining professional. While I would recommend the services provided by Axeventures, I strongly urge the company to address their customer service standards. A quality product deserves quality support. Maria was not a good representative of the company at all. read more

This was a pretty cool activity to do to change up the normal week. They give you several different axes to try out. They started off with a tutorial on how to throw the axe and then let us do our own thing. I wish they would've been more hands on while throwing to improve our technique, but the lady just went behind the counter. Not really my idea of fun. The venue was not air conditioned and there was a musty smell but there were ceiling fans (although it didn't help much). This was my first time throwing so I was a bit uneasy with someone in the next lane (also amateurs). I was afraid one of the axes would slip. You just never know! Fortunately the entire group was safe from injuries. Unfortunately I had to use the restroom and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months. The coach was nice and knowledgeable. She brought us a total of five different axes and a saw blade to throw. You're pretty much on your own and can ask questions if needed. They allow you to bring drinks which is great and they sell beverages ranging from $2-$5 all non-alcoholic (thank goodness)! The Rage Room was great and our host was awesome. They gave us ten minutes in each room but first they have you put on coveralls and other personal protective equipment for your safety. There were bottles, glasses, and other electronic equipment to smash and you can use bats, crowbars, hammers, etc. It's actually a great way to let out some steam! read more

This place is located in the heart of North Park, which means you will have a very hard time looking for a parking space. There was an instructor on how to throw the axe and what not to do and what to do. The vibe was lively and we had a lot of fun. They offer paper and pen to keep track of your scores and they also have a print out of a different games that you can play with your group . We didn't realize, but it looked like they allowed you to bring your own food. They don't offer food, but they do offer soda and water. Wasn't a huge fan of the experience I had here. We were told in our reservation to arrive 15 minutes early. We had the first slot of the day though, so when we arrive they weren't even open. After our time started we were told to wait for 15 more minutes before our safety briefing started. The safety briefing was filled with horrible stories of people getting hurt. If true, I feel like the place should be closed. If not, I don't really understand what kind of vibe they were trying to make. I came out of it just feeling unsafe. For example, they said someone had lost an eye, but did not provide safety goggles. They had a lot of different kinds of axes to try, which was nice. Also, since we came in early and there were multiple lanes available they let us use all the lanes (which makes sense since you pay per person and not per lane). I kind of thought axe throwing places were supposed to be fun and maybe serve alcohol? I understand not doing so, but just serving bags or chips and canned sodas seem like a half measure to compensate for the lack of alcohol. I was not a fan and I can't recommend axe throwing here. If you do, I'd recommend bringing your own safety goggles. read more

My friend and I decided to visit just off happenstance because we were across the street at the internet cafe and decided we would check out this place since we were looking for a location for a rage room. We were the first guests of the day and the host there, Joshua, was really friendly and helpful and despite the rage room not being available he offered us half-hour on axe throwing which we didn't mind either. Both my friend and I ended up having a great time talking to Joshua and learning from him how to throw properly and he gradually worked us up to different styles of weapons to throw and I started to really land some myself. If you want to waste your money and time on Smash room, go ahead. I reserved for two on a Saturday afternoon smash/rage room at 3 pm. When we arrived (a few minutes before our session), my partner and I waited for 20 minutes because they had to clean up. I absolutely recognized the need to clean up but maybe don't schedule people's session too close to each other?! The whole experience was only 20 minutes so to make your customers wait 20 minutes for a 20 minutes experience is unacceptable. Then why did you tell your customers to arrive early? Sure, we had to fill out safety forms but that took less than a minute. Now the experience - 1) The Room was small for two people to comfortably and safely smash items 2) We had steel made items to start the session which if you have some common sense, they don't break easily and hence, not a 'satisfactory' smashing experience 3) The worker there asked about our feedback and brought in more glass items to smash which was great but also that was towards the end of our session. The worker gave us ~5 minutes to do this 4) Did NOT like how the worker engaged with us asking us our relationship status. My partner and I also didn't want to take photos because our phones are in our pockets but the worker insisted. Clearly listening to the customers is NOT their strong suite 5) At their old location, they used to have different theme rooms but when I went this time at the new location, they only have one room Overall, I'm sad to say I'm disappointed with my experience and I hope they improve in the future. I gave two stars because parking was easier at the new location and also the scheduling online was easy as well. read more

Had a great time recently at AxeVentures. Was looking for something fun and different to do with my son while he was in town. Catch a movie... nah. Hang on the beach.... been there, done that. Throw some axes... Yaaaassss! Found a deal on Groupon, very worth it and gladly accepted by the team at AxeVentures. I called ahead to be sure they could take us on short notice. Spoke to Austin over the phone and he gave us a couple of options of times to arrive. I chose one that would be coming up soon as and it worked out perfectly with the short drive to the north park location. Austin greeted us and checked us in. Got waivers squared away and had a few more minutes before our scheduled time. While waiting, there are a couple areas with table games to pass the time or you could hang out at a table behind the throwing lanes and watch others attempt to .... i mean... throw axes! Austin was also our coach. When our time came up, he guided us through proper throwing technique as well as general safety for the activity. Then, off we went to throw. This place is so much fun. And a great workout. I'm a middle aged stay at home mom, so I wasn't sure if this would be my kind of thing but man did my husband and I have a blast. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the place is clean and casual. I started with my sweater on because they have great AC in there but I'd recommend if you have long hair, wear it up. I worked up a good sweat. They sell snacks and drinks but if you want more to eat you're welcome to bring outside food too. The bathroom was also nice and clean and well stocked.
