My daughter had fun watching the noodles being made. The braised beef was tender, the noodles tasted home-made and the broth was tasty!

I give it a four star rating because the noodles are great. A little pricey but I like supporting local businesses especially when they do a great job. I would give it a three star maybe two star about how they keep the place clean where people eat and use condiments on the shelf because it's pretty messy. But it's Covid and I don't think that that's a good excuse but it's an excuse. 2020 .... Year of chaos and Deceit Decided to buy the family some Chinese take out. We have not had take out since pre COVID. Family of 5. $107 with no tip. 5 spring rolls 5 egg rolls Braised beef noodles with vegetables (2) Beef noodles with vegetables Chicken noodles with Chinese vegetables Order BBQ pork buns I selected this restaurant from reviews and pictures. All the pictures were table servings. People raved about the taste and the quantity. Raved about how much meat you got. Average dish was over $15/entree. Pricey but hey good take out is hard to find. Roughly $21/person with appetizers. Spring rolls were the smallest in diameter and length I have ever seen and rubbery. Egg rolls were very small as well but were very good. Entrees- lots of broth (from scratch ) three bok choy leaves, 2 pcs - quarter cut sliced kohlrobis, 6-7 maybe 8 small PCs of meat, and maybe a cup of noodles. That's it. BBQ pork buns - (3) wedged into styrofoam container. Rubbery and no taste. $8.75. Maybe $2 of material per person (and I'm being generous). I felt very taken advantage of. I'm just as strapped financially as these restaurants are. This was a treat. Started an argument with the family. I realize small businesses have been crushed, especially restaurants since Covid hit. I finally convinced my wife to let me order take out and my family was highly disappointed with glorified soup broth and a little pasta for $107. For that money I could have gone to Costco bought N.Y. strip bulk loin, some udon noodles, some premade egg rolls, a head of bok choy and a kohlrabi from woodmans and made a feast with my InstaPot PLUS had meal of N.Y. strip steaks on the grille. Perhaps this was a bad night? If this was worth it, I would be coming back. I would be telling my friends what a good place this is, would have left a positive review for others. We would all get through this together but I feel robbed. My family disappointed. My wife mad I got took. Sorry ... but I'm done trying to help restaurants. This is a self-service style restaurant where you seat yourself and order at the front then they bring the food out to you. Not very big, only a handful of tables. I got the Spicy Beef Noodle and the Scallion Pancake. The Spicy Beef Noodle was delicious and left me wanting more. You could tell the different texture and mouth feel of the hand-pulled noodle immediately. The beef was super tender and melt in your mouth, I wish that there would have been a couple more pieces. The broth left me feeling warm and full. The Scallion Pancake was amazing, super crispy and yummy, maybe just a little bit too greasy? But that's what makes it so good. My husband and I visited Ruyi for dinner on opening day. It was delicious! We both enjoy Chinese soup noodles, and Ruyi fills an important void in Madison's restaurant scene. We ordered one bowl of sliced noodles (braised beef) and one of hand-pulled noodles (spicy beef). We didn't realize that the spicy beef meant it had Szechuan-style red chili, but since we both really like spicy food, we were pretty excited to see the noodles swimming in oily (but not too oily) red broth. The hand-pulled noodles had a beautiful elastic texture (both of us liked this bowl best), but the sliced noodles were yummy, as well. I also remarked that both bowls came with generous chunks of well-seasoned and tender meat. The service was also very fast and extremely friendly. We will definitely be back! read more

My son and I dined there on Fri the 8th April. We both ordered lamb hot pot (I got mine w rice noodles and he got Udon). Both of us got an upset stomach (severe diarrhea). My guess is it has to do with hygiene. The place was empty on a Friday evening (it should have told us something). The trash is right next to serving area and all liquids are also being poured in there. I think the city health dept needs to pay it a visit. read more

Best fresh handmade noodles in town. Their spicy beef noodles soup warms your soul. The chunky tender pieces of beef and fresh bok choi (asian veg) balance the soup. Although a generous serving, the noodles are light and bouncy, so you can destroy the whole bowl without feeling sleepy. This place really is amazing. It really reminds of home and the food my parents made growing up. The noodles were on point and just overall amazing. We had zha jia mien（炸醬面） and ma la niu ruo mian （麻辣牛肉面）which were both great. It really nice to have another authentic chinese food restaurant that caters more to the chinese community here in Madison. The place can be a little bit crowded but its worth it! Its a little pricey (~$12-$14 a bowl) compared to similar places I've had growing up in the bay area but i think its just because of supply and demand. I really hope they stay in business for a while since I definitely planning on coming here regularly! If you want authentic chinese style noodles this is the place. read more
