When the boss hands you his credit card and says "there's a Ruth's Chris right across the street, you three go enjoy," after a day of delayed flights, and with an early office morning looming, you smile and nod your head. I think it's literally impossible to go wrong. And with the massive side dish portions, this meal was an absolute delight to share with two coworkers. Heirloom tomato salad, potatoes au gratin, lobster mac, some nice, rare filets, filthy martinis with blue cheese olives, and a bottle of Malbec. Needless to say, I slept like a baby. A happy, chubby baby.

It's been a while since we ate here. First time at this location . Service was Top Knotch.. our server Dan was the Best!!! The atmosphere is very romantic!!! This was the Best Lemon Drop Martini I have had!!! Kudos to the Bar!! The Ruth's Chris Salad was so pretty to see but better eaten!!! Yum!! The Lobster Bisque was good but I would pass next time and try something else. We both got the Ribeye... so good, cooked to Perfection!!! The Potato Augratin is a must and shareable. Plus a nice Carrot Cake Cupcake with Carmel drizzle for my Birthday!! Note: everything is Ala Carte....

It has been a while since we last ate here. This past Sunday, we went here again and the food was good. There were four of us today and we did have a reservation and were seated right away. We got the lobster mac n cheese and seafood tower for appetizers to share. There were three of us with similar tastes so we got three entrees of shrimp and steaks, with sides such as cream spinach and mash potatoes etc. The other person to our party got salmon as the main entree. The server was great. He checked on us pretty often. The lobster mac n cheese and the steak were definitely good and recommended when we come back again.

Stopped in for a drink and dessert. The staff were presentable, prompt, knowledgeable and complementary to the experience. The ambiance is lovely. High ceilings, beautifully decorated walls with art and shelving, well lit and fully stocked bar. The drinks were perfectly crafted, the dessert is top tier. And Pepper, one of the servers, wrapped up the experience with smiles and pleasantries.

[June 2025] My family and I came here for Father's Day. Parking was a bit chaotic. I ended up having to park by the hotel next door to it. We had reservations so we were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive. This was my first time ever at a Ruth's Chris Steak House location, so I didn't know what to really expect. I was handed a tablet to look the drink options. I started off with the Pearl of the Tropics and it looked just like the picture! I tried some of my brother's Wildberry Lemonade. I also ordered a Whiskey Basil Smash and a Cosmopolitan. All the drink were amazing! For my entree, I ordered the 16oz ribeye with fire roasted corn. We shared some sides as a table, so I tried the garlic mashed potatoes which were really good. My steak was the perfect medium rare and tender. I would come back!

Stopped by for some late night eats. Good wine list. Steaks are always done correctly. Good server knew his wine service. I appreciated that he brought out a decanter for us (without asking). We were the last seating of the night so it was winding down ambiance wise. Nevertheless, had a great time.

Ruth Chris is a consistent steak-house chain that typically doesn't fail to deliver on quality of food expected. The garlic mashed are my favorite staple side dish here but today we ventured out to try two different types of fries. The French fries were your typically good seasoned fry that won't disappoint but they are not unique in flavor. The shoe string fries were enough to feed at least 5 people if you're on a budget looking to split their sides. Side note: did you know that for a majority of the sides you can do a half order? After coming here for a few years I sometimes even surprise the wait staff with it as there's nowhere on the menu that it states this as an option and typically they won't just come out and tell you. If you're looking to celebrate a birthday or anniversary this is the place to come as they do give you a dessert on the house of your choice. The petite filet steak today was good and I did try it with the au poive which for $8 I would pass on as the butter on the steak is good enough and the aupoive was just okay. Overall, I give a 3 out of 5 because nothing really wows me to make me want to come back time and time again. It's your middle of the road steakhouse. Chesterfield has very strict rules on clothing which for a chain steakhouse is a bit much and surprising. While you can book on open table, you are not allowed to show cleavage, have any sort of cap on, and really if you are dressed casual you will either not be allowed in or must sit at the bar. If you find yourself sitting at the bar and they didn't tell you, just know that you were selected for to sit in that area for a reason. The front desk host did have a very revealing top though. We were dressed in sweaters and pants (it's a Sunday night and winter) and still got sat in the bar area. Make sure your children do not have shorts or any t-shirts or hoodies on. You don't want to be surprised by the requirements even if they are young. At other Ruth Chris's I've seen them be much more lax. Jaime was our server and she was great! Very attentive.

We went to dinner before a concert and everything was AMAZING! The food, the service was excellent. I ordered the ny strip, sweet potato and creamed spinach. Steak was Tooo perfection. Compliments to the chef. I did not enjoy the fries, just okay. Overall I Always appreciate the Aesthetics of the restaurant.

Ruth's Chris in Chesterfield is so beautiful inside and classy. I love the very high ceilings. They have a nice patio on the second floor. We came to celebrate a birthday and ordered the petit filet, classic and the Norwegian Salmon. For side we ordered the asparagus and the sweet potato casserole which is out of this world. Everything was very well prepared. Our server was a bit off that night, we had request water, he took like 20 minutes to bring out our capuchinos, etc

Dirty table cloth left on the table.

Made reservations for brunch, however it was not being served the day after Valentine's Day. Seated at a table near the bar, customers at the bar smelled so strongly of cannabis had to request a different table. Wait staff not attentive at all. Had to ask for water, silverware, bread and butter. Wait staff brought 3 salads to the table but forgot the soup for one of the customers. The food itself was delicious. The table next to us had a balled up dirty tablecloth tossed on it. The women's bathroom had a severe plumbing problem. Would not recommend this establishment!

We called ahead and made a reservation for five, and everything went smoothly--we were seated right on time. Our server was attentive and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Honestly, the toughest part of the visit was deciding what to order because there are so many great options on the menu. I ended up going with a house salad (with rustic croutons, hard-boiled egg, cucumbers, bacon, tomatoes, and cheddar) paired with their vinaigrette dressing, along with the ahi tuna entrée. The tuna was sesame-crusted and served with sriracha aioli, soy ginger sherry sauce, sushi rice, and spinach. The presentation really stood out--it was sliced and arranged over the rice in a way that almost resembled a sushi roll. Everything tasted fantastic, and while the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food makes it worth it. This was my sixth visit over the years, and I've consistently had great experiences with both the food and service.

This year on valentines day, the experience wasn't the best. I always make reservations online with no issues. This time, me requesting a booth didn't seem to transfer over. They sat us at a made up table (outside picnic table with a table cloth) which we were a bit upset but it was by the fire so we accepted it. Plus no other tables were available because they were packed. There was another couple behind us sitting at the same made up table. To me, the spacing was awkward and I understand the resturant wanted to do whatever to accommodate guest to dine in this busy day. Our server was really nice and attentive. I forgot his name but he did a great job. The food was seasoned very well. Although my first steak was cooked rare vs medium-rare as requested, he immediately worked to resolve it. The second steak was cooked to perfection and so good. I wish it was cooked this way the first time because I had to wait longer to eat with my husband. The dinner rolls are usually the best. Sweet, light and fluffy with sweet butter. This night, they seemed a tad undercooked. There was a small area that had a slightly different color than the rest which indicates being undercooked. I didn't like that my potato wasn't soft. Lots of firm pieces inside. The crab cakes was absolutely delicious. Overall, I'm disappointed based on my previous experiences as this is typically a really nice dining.

Good catch on his part. We both had a glass of prosecco to start and then split a bottle of French pinot noir (Domaine de Valmoissine) to go with our entrees (steak tip pasta and steak frites). My wife loved the pasta dish (fresh pappardelle with steak tips, demiglace cream sauce and shiitake mushrooms) and my steak was perfectly prepared medium-rare with crisp and flavorful garlic fries and a side of green beans and shiitake mushrooms. Upon entering the building, there is a foyer area where their gift shop meets the bar. A group of my girlfriends and I had came here for a birthday celebration, and service was phenomenal! Our server was so friendly and adaptable while serving a large party. I ordered the Brunch Sangria, it is a white sangria that has bits of fruit in it. It was so refreshing! Definitely worth it. For an entree I ordered the Breakfast Gnocchi Carbonara with chicken. This meal was delicious and filling. The bacon was my favorite part- crispy and flavorful! Definitely going to come back.

While she apologized and provided napkins, no additional action was taken by the staff or management. No manager came to check on the situation, no effort was made to assist further, and there was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience beyond the initial apology. I understand accidents happen. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up or customer care afterward. Additionally, our dinner service took well over two hours on a Wednesday evening, which only added to the frustration of the experience. I was also concerned to notice what appear to be inaccuracies in the suggested gratuity calculations printed on the receipt. Based on the total shown, the percentages listed do not appear to align correctly. Regardless of whether this was intentional or a system error, it creates an uncomfortable impression for customers and is something I believe should be reviewed immediately. Overall, the experience fell far below what I would expect, both in service and professionalism.

The soup was absolutely delicious and it was like a flavor bomb in your mouth after each bite. I had high hopes for the lobster risotto but next time we may skip this. I was hoping it would be more creamy and out of this world, but it was just mid. For entrees, my boyfriend and I both got the center cut filet with poblano au gratin potatoes and creamed corn with bacon. We were raving about how yummy everything was in between bites!! And to finish, we ordered our favorite dessert, crème brûlée. Lastly, I wanna shout out the bartender.. my Negroni was perfect, so of course, I had to order another. And Katherine, our server, was great as well. Thanks for being a part of our NYE and the will be sure to stop in to celebrate other occasions with J Gilbert's.

We ordered an 8oz special ribeye to split. The chef did the cut it in the kitchen, and then plated on two plates. Nice touch. We added a Caesar, and three sides. Everything was done nicely. Our server was awesome, the meals were great, I'll start with the server, he brought us a couple of drinks and left us to look over the menu. I filled my glass with a bottle of beer and noticed the glass was chipped along the rim. The place was hopping so I didn't get to catch him until he took our food order. I showed him the glass and he apologized and said he'd be back after putting in the order. In just a couple minutes he returned with a new glass, new bottle of beer and another apology. I've had similar issues at other facilities but he handled it better, and more professionally than any of them. I did think the manager could have stopped by, not looking for a free drink just to say we're sorry... my date and I both had their version of the choose two section. She had loaded baked potato and said it was great, and she got the chicken breast sandwich which she said was very good. To drink she had a margarita, no salt, and said it was good. I had the wedge salad and it was so large I couldn't even try my sandwich. I did eat it at home and the salmon blt was very good. I recommend this place and while we lucked out hitting a busy place on a Friday night without reservations, my date beat me there and got seated when a table opened up. The host took me to the table the moment I said I was meeting a lady there. Parking can be tuff, my date parked several rows away from the entry and if it had been raining that would have been a pain. I believe the location is the old Wild Horse Creek Pub on Long road. I dressed in casual jeans and a dress shirt and I hit between the families with kids and older couples out for a dressed up dinner. It is fairly noisy if you're looking to have a quiet conversation.

The restaurant is a bit loud, but we didn't mind it, it was a busy Saturday night. Bar service was great, table service was lacking. We started with a few drinks (margaritas) and they were quite good. For an app, we got the wings with firefly sauce, the sauce was really good and the wings were cooked perfect. For dinner, we had the filet mignon with potatoes and green beans as well as the creamy Cajun pasta. The filet was overcooked, but had really good flavor, the green beans with bacon were lackluster. The Cajun pasta was quite tasty, but it really lacked protein (only a few slices of a sausage and a few shrimp). We had the salted caramel bread pudding for dessert, it was good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, the experience was okay, food was good enough. Worth a try if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
