The food was delicious, fresh, and a huge hit with our guests. So many people commented throughout the evening on how good everything was, and just a few days later, one of my friends was already asking me for their contact information so she could recommend them for another event. That says it all! Alex and Adán provided excellent service. They were professional, friendly, organized, and made everything so easy for us as hosts. It was such a pleasure having them be part of our celebration. Our family just moved from Canada to Arizona in January, so we are still discovering local businesses we can trust, and Tacos Calafia is definitely one we will happily use again and recommend to our friends. Great food, great service, and wonderful people. There is a reason they have so many excellent reviews online -- they deserve them! This location is large and has a lot of tables inside and outside. There's plenty of room for large parties to congregate together and not bother other customers. There's was also a lot of sunlight pouring into the building which I enjoy. They have a large Arizona-themed wall mural and many other decorations throughout the restaurant. The menu board is both simple and diverse, as you have a choice of proteins (carne asada, pollo, al pastor, cabeza and grilled cactus!) and an assorted way to enjoy them (tacos, burrito, quesadilla, nachos, vampiro, and more). Once you place your order at the counter, they have a nice salsa bar with multiple salsas/sauces, guac, onions, radishes, cilantro, limes and more. There's also a table for all your other dining needs (utensils, napkins, salsa cups, etc). I enjoy places that trust their customers to take what they need and not take advantage of their hospitality. I ordered 3 tacos and grabbed 3 salsas to mix and match. I really enjoyed the Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos, but the Pollo wasn't to my liking (had a rubbery/slimy texture and didn't taste to my expectation). The salsas/hot sauces were fine but I didn't find a favorite. Overall, this was an enjoyable lunch at a fair price and at a nice setting. Thanks Tacos Calafia!

Located on Roosevelt Row, Taco Boy's has a parking lot. It's not big, but I found a spot on a Thursday evening. Ambiance (3.5/5): Taco Boy's is a little chaotic. You order at the counter and then they call your name when your food is ready. It's not a large taco joint, and it's a popular taco joint. Which means you'll see a lot of people cycling in and out, as a lot place to-go orders too. Not the most calm experience, but not an issue for me. You'll also come out smelling like meat lol. They have an open kitchen, and it smells fantastic. The downside is that it sticks to your clothes, too. Service (4/5): Service isn't a big part of the experience, but for what it is, it's pretty smooth. They took my order quickly, I paid relatively quickly, and my food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Drinks (5/5): I'm a sucker for agua frescas. Taco Boy's delivers. They had four flavors available. I went with the pineapple/mango. It's served in a large cup. Good stuff. Food (5/5): I wasn't terribly hungry so I got a small barbacoa quesadilla. Outside of quesadillas, they have tacos, vampiros, and burritos. Your choice of meat including usual suspects like carne asada, al pastor, chicken, etc. They grill all of their food right in front of you and it's absolutely delicious. Fresh off the grill. Flavorful. Well marinated. Quality meats and ingredients. At the complimentary salsa bar, you can stock up on various sauces, limes, cucumbers, etc. I can't wait to get back to have a heartier meal and try out more of their items. Hands-down, the best Mexican food I've had in Phoenix so far (after a year and a half).
