I just ordered breakfast tacos from this place and my order was wrong. The order was missing ingredients on 2 of the 3 tacos I paid the extra money for. I called to see if I could get this situation fixed. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude and condescending!! She proceeded to tell me that the ticket didn't show the added ingredients. I told her I currently have the ticket and the receipt in hand and can see both. Then she proceeds to tell me she sees it? Then 2 seconds later tells me she doesn't see it again? Terrible experience. Her attitude alone is enough to make me never want to buy food here again and the food isn't worth the hassle like some places. read more

Very average tacos! I've gone with my friends a couple of times and we've all been underwhelmed! I've been the most unimpressed as their vegetarian options are very limited and quite boring! I just went here for the first time. I live in Lincoln and was excited about the concept of this place. They do everything from breakfast to dinner, vegan to barbecue, and the have a full bar or coffee. We got chips and queso, #5,6,8,9,11 and a steak and egg breakfast taco. We had a coke and they had fresh lime for it which was lovely. The chips were made fresh and had the perfect amount of salt, and the queso was creamy with just the right level of spice. And they offered to refill our chips (no extra charge). The tacos were DEVINE! Literally we had 6 tacos between the two of us (we were both very hungry) and we both thought they were all fantastic and we finished all of it. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. These tacos are definitely big so 2 each would have been plenty but they were so good we at 3 each! We will be back often because this is now one of my favorite places to eat in Lincoln! Fourth visit and finally reviewing. I know this place is about tacos, but MAN, am I in love with the black beans. Chock full of flavor, onions, cilantro, cheese, tomatoes and other goodies. A little spicy, which I barely taste due to my tolerance. I also love the Baja shrimp taco, and the steak and beef tacos. Pricing is well. Guacamole is decent. Chips taste homemade and are on the thicker side. I usually get two tacos and an order of beans, but think I need to up the ante and add another taco tonget truly full. As it is, I'm satisfied after eating (which is a better goal than being full, I suppose). I haven't been disappointed yet and just received my GrubHub order for lunch. Also not a bad environment for eating in with co workers. Haven't tried the drinks. Service is friendly. Hope they stick around! Oh, if you want a flour taco make sure to ask for it or you'll get a corn tortilla. read more

We tried the Rusty Taco on a Saturday night. I ordered the Picadillo Taco and the Roasted Pork Taco and added the habanero sauce to both. I enjoyed the Picadillo Taco more than the pork one but both were good. My husband had the BBQ Brisket Taco and the Texican Taco and he thought that the brisket taco was a lot better than the Texican. I thought that they were good tacos at a good price. I placed my order online and was super excited that right when I walked in it was ready to go! The only issue I had was that I put a request for the queso on one of my tacos to be on the side, but they weren't able to see this request when making my tacos so be careful if you can't eat specific foods it might be better to just call the order in. However, they were very good at helping me and sorted out the situation quickly! While their tacos are really good they just don't compare to tacos back home thats why I gave them 4 stars, but for Lincoln I think these are the best tacos around! read more

Ive went to Rusty taco to grab a margarita in the past and have always sat at the bar to order. I went in today and sat for over 5 minutes only for the manager to come over to tell us we have to order at the other counter. Get up as a server is coming to the bar, I asked her where we were supposed to order and she said the bar was fine. Have only been here once since they opened but enjoyed the variety and quality of the tacos. We took the family and everyone had their favorites already. I really enjoyed the fish tacos and the pulled pork tacos, and my daughter really enjoyed the two breakfast tacos she had. Make sure to try the different hot sauces they have in the fridge next to the soda, they add a little zip and flavor to the tacos. I've been here multiple times, but most of those times were right when the establishment opened. The tacos for lunch and dinner are really good, but a little pricey. That being said, the student discounts and specials are great! I love the roasted pork taco and all of the breakfast tacos. However, I did not enjoy the tacos with steak in them. They were really difficult to chew and were not very good cuts of meat. The chips and queso are bomb (and the chips are bottomless!). The margaritas are okay. Definitely not very strong, but still tasty! The service is always hit or miss. Sometimes you get the really nice owner and other times it's staff that aren't quite as friendly as you'd expect for a customer service based establishment. The building itself is very cool and fun! Overall, there is room for improvement in the customer service and some of the food items, but we will definitely be back!! read more

Tried their tacos for the first time recently- they were delicious! The tacos are priced cheaply, as they are small. Good for a light meal, or order 3 for a meal! In the old wahoos location. Several taco choices. We had grilled fish and pablano and mushroom tacos. Really good. Great cheap place to have tacos and beers. Also had some chips and guacamole. Chips and queso also delicious. Again cheap and really good. My wife had a margarita and said it was pretty tastey. Staff was really friendly and has a fun atmosphere with the bar and outdoor seating. I would think this place would be super popular with unl kids. Came into Lincoln from Columbia mo and loved rusty taco! If you've been to fuzzys taco shop it's kind of the same vibe, but the tacos are more authentic. I would definitely come back! They do love their cabbage tho. There is so much in each taco, and the kids quesadilla comes with a side of cabbage! Or more like the cabbage comes with a side quesadilla! Anywho great place! Ehhhhh not impressed with this place at all. It sucks cuz i live right by it and have to walk by it all the damn time and reminisce on the days I could get a banzai bowl from Wahoos. God damn that was amazing. Wahoos (which used to be where this poor quality place is now occupying) was sooo sooo so much better smh. I went here (rusty taco) 3 times and each time I got different tacos and each time the food was edible. Nothing more nothing less. Went there when it first opened to try it out and it was not good especially for the price, like 3 bucks a taco almost i think for whatever the fuck i got. I gave it benefit of the doubt and decided to go back. Not any better but not any worse either. Told myself I wouldnt go back after that but i was walking home pretty stoned and said eh why not give it one more try considering they specialize in tacos and surely the 3rd time going here they would be decent at least. Loved the food!! I was sad when Wahoo's closed, but am very pleased with this replacement!!! I had a beef fajita and spicy picadillo taco. Both were delicious and the staff was helpful about allergens. I've been here twice and was slightly turned off both times by very loud (read: yelling) conversations in the kitchen in sight of my table. Employees being yelled at by management for how dirty and "gross" their food stations are, not rinsing equipment well when cleaning, etc. Also lots of loud, criticizing conversations *about* employees and former employees by name -- being called idiots, useless, etc. It was just a little off-putting... I'm guessing they probably didn't know their voices were carrying through the dining room sooo well, otherwise they probably wouldn't have been so loud about cleanliness issues. I kept looking at other patrons (families with kids) to see if they were uncomfortable by the swearing and yelling too. I even made eye contact with the employees involved, but they kept on going. I'll be back because the food was so good and the staff was so friendly when I was ordering, but this is something to work on. read more

Came to this place with my family and friends. The dining area has nice decor to it but the food had no favor, the cashier named Caleb was unprofessional and seemed to be forcing me to leave him a tip after using my credit card which made me uncomfortable and want to leave without my food. My eggs were hard and had no flavor of pepper or salt to it. I noticed the young lady Adessa according to my friends receipt who was on another register was real pleasant and was the only cashier helping get chips and queso for guests and calling out food orders. One of the guys in the kitchen was yelling at the crew so loud the whole dining area heard it. The tacos were well put together besides the eggs not being any good. The manager or owner not sure which one he was heard being rude to employees by my child which isn't good for business so overall I rate them a -1 for the all bad things I've noticed. I own my own restaurant business and if this one plans on staying in business it might need new owners and employees who actually care about more than tips and want to give customers great service. read more
