WORST TACO SHOP IN LINCOLN. I would have put 0 stars but you have to put something. About a hour ago I went through the drive through. Ordered 3 super fries and 1 super nachos w/ no sour cream, and 4 horchatas. We checked our order each box to make sure there were 1 nachos and 3 fries and proceeded home to eat. We live all the way across town on hi-way 2. Upon arrival home we noticed the fries were dry, no guacamole no sour cream just meat,cheese and pico. The fries looked like something you would get from a fast food burger place and they were soggy, the nachos soggy. We called the restaurant, only one person spoke English. He wouldn't let me speak to the manager, wouldn't give the manager name or his name. He said "the manager would handle this situation worse." They couldn't do nothing unless I drove all the way back to show them the food. I asked if I can send photos because I have children and it is an inconvenience to drive back across town at 10 at night. I sent 75 dollars and just wanted them to right their wrongs, hopefully on a future date. This was the worst customer service I have came across in Lincoln. I will never go back here they have know respect for the customers. Skimpy ass dry ass fry's!!! Just go to De'Leon way better and better customer service! read more

Not the first time i've had problems with the food here. This time I ordered a Birria plate. I got to my third taco and was picking up meat to put into my shell when I seen a few hairs in my meat. I called and they said they didn't believe it was their fault they wanted me to bring it to the store to inspect. I however had to leave for work so was unable to. They said people call and lie all the time. The woman who worked at the window had an attitude when I told her she forgot my horchata. She rolled her eyes at me & breathed deeply. She was also the one to answer the phone and after telling her what had happened she breathed deeply again & told me to give her a second. I used to be a d'leons loyalist but Abelardo's has converted me, I have seen the light. These burritos are flipping amazing. I've never been anything but wowed by my food here. Plus, it's same/comparable prices as d'leons, and you get a flipton more food. I love to eat, especially for breakfast, but I literally *cannot finish* one of their breakfast burritos in one sitting. Need a half star for this horrible restaurant! the "Big Taco" was actually the size of a food truck taco, the meat was disgusting, cheese was dry and lettuce was dripping wet; also ordered the french fries which were not even close to being crisp like french fries are supposed to be these were SOGGY; and the rice was hard as a rock and the flavor tasted like they got it out of the garbage! All of this (3 big tacos, french fries, rice) all for $19.20! And the WORST customer service in Lincoln, the male employee was actually rude and the female at the window refused to give me the receipt had to go in to get and complain. This was the absolute worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. It was the worst food amo g any food group. I went to the one on NW 12 off of Adams st. They wouldn't honor my coupon, which now I think is a good thing. The tacos were absolutely horrid. The shells were over cooked to the point of nearly burnt. They tasted like they had been sitting around for sometime. Not freshly made at all. The cheese had hardened to a glob. There was no flavor to the meat. The chili relano was a blob of goo! It too was cold and mushy. The coating, I can't describe, it was that bad. The beef burrito, same thing. I didn't taste it, it was my husband's. He too said it was cold. When he opened it the cheese was also just a glob that had hardened because it had sat around. Makes me wonder if the order had been for someone else who didn't pick it up and they passed it off to me. We ended up tossing it in the garbage. It was not eatable. I should have gone to Amigos or Taco Inn where the fast food take out is pretty darn good! Don't waste your time or money at this place. That's $20 that could have been spent elsewhere. Visited Abelardo's on a Tuesday for the 5 tacos for $5 deal. The tacos aren't quite food truck quality, but for the price, they were pretty darn good. Definitely better than TBell or Taco Johns. They have a salsa bar that had about 10 different options. I tried several of them, and there wasn't one that I didn't enjoy. The menu is pretty vast and I am looking forward to coming back and trying some other options. read more
