Overcharges - beware!. I ordered a $6 bean dip as the big sign up front said, and it ended up being $8.50 - with no chips (which I was not expecting, but is usually given at the south location). When I pointed out the sign, they said the price is now $7.50 and then there was a .29 service charge. Then to that total was added almost 10% tax. I thought tax is 7.25%. I have been to the other Lincoln location, as well as the Omaha location, and this visit just didn't live up to what I've come to know from Hacienda Real. First of all, if it's busy, it is LOUD in there! Between all the patrons conversations and the blenders making margaritas, we could barely hear each other at our table. I ordered a taco salad, and my dad ordered a burrito. The taco salad was just sad...the shell had beef on the bottom and topped with a few pieces of iceberg lettuce. Extremely small portion and just didn't hit the mark for me. My dad ordered a burrito, which came with no sides of rice or beans. The only saving grace is that the complementary chips, salsa, and bean dip are always fantastic! We've gone to this location since it opened and it was great back in the day. We haven't been here in about 6 months and went the other night. Something has changed. The service was good, the food was not. Both my husband and myself had our usual dishes and both were flavorless and not how we had remembered them. Also, we went at 6:30 when you'd think it was going to be packed(how it used to be) and this night there were plenty of open table. I have been here a number of times and it delivers in taste each time. The margaritas and happy hour is quite a little treat. I got a lime on the rocks and tried peach blended it was strong for the size. My friends and I got their carne y mas and the steak was seasoned well, their portions are for two people. I would come hungry! Their bean dip and salsa has the PERFECT I repeat PERFECT amount of heat I usually don't like spicy but this was a perfect kick! If you're going on a weekend I recommending coming here before the rush (4:30pm) anything after you will have to wait and find parking somewhere else! I've been in Lincoln since August '24 and this was the worst food I've had. My burrito somehow tasted like dish water, even had my boyfriend try it and he said the same. Literally ate one bite and threw the rest out. Chips and salsa weren't spectacular either. Boyfriend's burritos were also not good. I don't know how this place has such a high rating. It's horrible. Another hit! Just a wonderful restaurant. Came in before 6 PM and was informed House margaritas were on special - Bingo! Excellent margaritas, excellent guacamole, excellent queso. Tonight we enjoyed the shrimp fajitas and the chicken flautas. Complementary parking is available adjacent to the restaurant. We were pleasantly greeted in quickly. See it. Our typical area is by the bar so we could watch the college World Series tonight. Our server was great, she brought us everything ahead of when we even asked for it ! The restaurant is always immaculate and is open and airy with modern vibe. Outdoor patio seating is also available at this location. A great place to stop in for lunch or dinner. Ordered Combo fajita's with steak and shrimp and asked to add in jalapeños to enhance the spice level. Plenty of shrimp, had to dig through the pile of vegetables to find the little bites of steak and I guess they don't offer spicy jalapeños since the ones added to my dish were not any hotter than a bell pepper. Their setup doesn't come with cheese and only 3 tortillas. Glad I didn't ask for any more tortillas, I get my bill and between the side of cheese, mild jalapeños, and some hotter salsa it added on an extra 6 dollars onto my meal. The server was nice, still a little green on customer service since she was young, prolly her first job and this place prolly doesn't have a training regiment on bettering their staff. They have a full liquor license, so you can enjoy a margarita with your tasty treats. The staff was chill, and attentive. I think they gave us some bean dip for the table, with the chips and salsa. You. do not see that everywhere. The bean dip was bomb. Lets keep local gems like this in business. This year may kill many independent businesses, and it is up to us as the community to not abandon them. Being plant based for health reasons, no meat no dairy, I am more than willing to pay a premium for good food for what I like to eat. We ordered 2 burritos with black beans, rice, salsa, raw onions, cilantro, and avocado like we do everywhere. It was not on the Menu. The manager charged us $15 for each burrito, MORE than any of the other burritos on the menu. Then it came out with cheese melted on top so we had to send it back. The final burrito which is in my experience is Impossible to mess up was disappointing to say the least especially with that hefty price tag. Maybe as the world will eventually be forced to go plant based maybe some efforts could be made to fine tune a more appetizing plant based option on the menu especially when you are going to charge a premium like $15 each for basically beans and rice and 3-4 skinny slices of an avocado. read more

So, we were traveling from Idaho to Wisconsin and had a few days in an RV campground less than a mile from this place. We were feeling "Mexican" for dinner. The flour shell was kind of smallish and the sides were short. She was hoping for a lot of lettuce but was a bit disappointed. There just wasn't room to have lots of anything. However, the meat was well seasoned and there was plenty. C+ grade. I had the Carne Asada burrito supreme. In all honesty I had COVID 4 weeks prior and only have probably 85% return of taste and smell. What I could taste was good. The carne asada was very tender; big bonus. My wife said it was good tasting. Not a lot of guacamole or sour cream but still decent. Not a lot of lettuce/pico de gallo garnish but 'ok'. B grade. Overall: Service - A (smiles and lots of attention) Food - B- (C+ and B averaged) Margaritas- B+ (we had the 'silver coin' on rocks) Ambiance - A- (cute Mom and Pop place) Bar area - A (looks well-stocked and lots of options) So, all-in-all I will round up and give 4 stars for the 3.5 rating in my mind. We are regulars at the South Lincoln location and love it. This was only our second visit to this North Lincoln location and we were not disappointed. It's a smaller space, but tables and booths are nicely separated providing a pleasant atmosphere. Food is superb of course, we've come to expect that from the South location.
