10 inch pizza with Caribbean Jerk rib bone-in wings
Jessica S.

I ordered food from Grata Bar & Lounge - Clocktower for the first time tonight after reading about it here. I didn't even know they had a full food menu! I live very close and will likely be back. Tonight I had the $20 meal deal with a 10-inch classic pizza and 10 wings. Pandemic carryout is simply not the same as regular life carryout. You have to have patience and grace. They were really busy which meant really behind but they did a wonderful job keeping their cool no matter how many times they had to let folks know the wait would be longer (30+ minutes). My food was good. I was nervous the pizza would be doughy because it wasn't very brown around the edges but it was cooked through. It wasn't super hot but the cheese was melted. I got the Caribbean jerk dry rub on the wings. I've not had dry rubs before so I didn't know what to expect. There was a lot of seasoning, it's a little spicy, salty. I'll try a different flavor next time. The wings are a about the size of BWW. The meat was very moist, fall off the bone. Can't wait to try more items! Any recommendations?

Bar Area

Great place for Sunday brunch and dinner on Sunday. Excellent service and a cool atmosphere. The Cajun shrimp salad is fantastic-the shrimp & bacon are beautifully cooked and warm and yet the avacado, al dente green bean sticks, and lettuce are crisp & cool. Donuts served at brunch are homemade & amazing.

The Watering Hole - Grilled Mild wings!

I don't know what to say here. I'm still in shock and kind of in mourning. I was back in Nebraska…read morefor a week and was meeting a friend for lunch, so of course, I suggested my favorite place in the world. This wound be the original Watering Hole on O Street. To my shock and dismay, it appears to be closed for good. In side it was still set up for business with ketchup bottles still on the tables, like a snapshot of days gone by. (Although a much better snapshot of days further gone by would be a couple decades earlier when the Watering Hole was a dive bar with th best wings around.) But I digress . . . . we checked Yelp and went to the closest of their new locations. Feels off somehow, but that's probably just me. Great service and the same awesome wing sauce that I crave every time I'm back in Nebraska (if only the sold bottles of the stuff). Definitely a "must stop" when in Lincoln, or even in a 200-mile radius. Sure could use a bottle of wing sauce right about now . . . . even though I'm fairly certain I've figured out the secret ingredient. ;-)

Such a fun spot to get a drink and some grub. They have typical American fare to choose from. But…read morethe wings (grilled) are by far the best and what they're known for. I decided to change it up and tried the Philly cheesesteak which was delicious. My long islands hit the spot as well. They have beer, wine, cocktails, ciders and more! I can't wait to come back on a Tuesday for $5 margaritas. :D

We finished a round of golf and needed a bite to eat and Sportscasters was near the course. When…read morewe arrived the parking lot was fairly busy - a good first sign for 8:30 pm on a Thursday. Inside the layout is two level - upper with the bar and some seating and then a lower level a few steps down. Lots of televisions as with most sports bars and they also offer Keno. We seated ourselves at a high-top table and didn't have to wait too long for service. I ordered a draft IPA. It arrived with a nice head on it and the hazy orange tone I expected. Taste was good - citrusy and hoppy - but it was not near cold enough. Tap beer in the USA needs to be served cold, unless you're talking about dark porters and Irish ales. I ordered the Sportscasters Burger, medium, with mustard, pickle, lettuce and onion and a specific instruction to hold the tomato. What I got was everything (except ketchup or mayo) including the tomato. No big deal, it's easy to remove. The burger was done appropriately to medium and the bun and presentation was attractive. I would suggest a double burger as the patty is a bit thin. The burger was good, nothing spectacular. However the Crinkle Fries were on another level. They were perfectly fried, crisp, and yet soft within. From the looks of the exterior, I think they're using beef tallow to fry. I'm a "fry connoisseur" and I can confidently state that these are some of the best crinkle fries you can try - don't pass them up! I'd seriously consider going back just to get the fries! On that topic - "going back" - I can't say it would be high on my list (other than for the fries) but I wouldn't rule it out. Sportscasters rates a three-star based on the total experience. Without the fries, I'd be at a two-star due to the lukewarm tap beer and the thin burger patty.
