This is a hole in the wall but it was amazing. Spicy mole enchiladas was a shock at first but slightly spicy and sweet. Great balance. The tostado de ceviche! I loved it! Rice and beans were fine but I can always pass on those. If I come back to Lincoln in 28 years, I will seek this place out! read more

We were looking for a new Mexican restaurant in Lincoln and our first experience was amazing. Waitress and staff were highly attentive. Had the Birria tacos and I don't know if I've ever had a better taco. Had rice and beans as a side dish and even this was great. Margaritas were amazing. Can't say enough good things about our meal. read more

Fast, clean and tasty. The food is good and fast. Maybe not as fancy as some but if you're hungry, want something tasty and easy, this is your place. Carne asada, chilaquiles, soups, tacos, chips and salsa, all good. The owners are super kind too. The female owner gave me a grapefruit when I asked what she was eating (she was eating it like an orange and it was massive). I also appreciate their live plants. Good food, friendly service, and worth the short drive over the bridge from downtown Lincoln and the Haymarket area. I walked in and - being from NYC - was a bit taken aback at the lack of masks (nobody in a full and bustling restaurant had one) so I opted for takeout. The woman behind the counter was very friendly despite the place being full up with a lunch rush. People were coming and going, large orders were being prepared for office workers' takeout, and she kept a smile on her face. I ordered camarones a la diabla, with beans and rice, as well as chips and salsa and a Jarritos soda (pineapple). The food was great and the tomato based sauce with the shrimp had a decent spicy bite to it. The refried beans were the show stopper though: silky smooth and very yummy when mixed with rice, guac, and sour cream. Unfortunately, the styrofoam container for the food was leaking badly, so by the time I began to eat in the car all of the napkins in the bag had been soaked in the diablo sauce. It got pretty messy. Also, Jarritos soda requires a bottle opener, which I don't have, so I wasn't able to enjoy it with lunch. When in Lincoln again, I would still definitely return. Good Mexican food is always worth it, even when it gets messy. read more

Very solid, authentic Mexican restaurant just over the O St Overpass in west Lincoln. The lunch service was quick, the grande burrito was very big, and there house green and red sauces were great! The decor is simple and low budget, but you don't come here for that. The barbacoa was fantastic. I'll need to come back and try something else before bumping this up to 5 stars, but I'd give it a 4.5 star if that were possible. If I had any sense or self control I would have cut the burrito in half and had it for lunch tomorrow too, but I ate the whole thing. read more

Decided to hear about this place from a few co-workers and they said the food is good so I decided to try it. First thing I notice is the airbrushed designs on the wall of the Mexican flag, American flag, the Capitol building, and the stadium. I looked through the menu and they had a great array of tasty food. I ordered enchiladas con mole Poblano and a side of beans and rice and can't forget the Horchata. So as I sit here waiting, a few minutes pass, I'm wondering where my food is. I asked the waitress what the estimated time was to get my food but she didn't know. She comes back and tells me they're making it. As for food wise, it was worth the wait. The enchiladas were delicious :) read more

Do Like: Price was cheap, and guacamole was good. Service was speedy. Don't Like: The chips were stale, so we sent it back. The waitress only took it through deep fryer before brought the chips back out, and chips had become this oily shiny thing. I had double enchilada plates, and the chorizo tasted sour, lettuce tasted like refrigerator, tortillas tasted stale, the red sauce was bitter, salsa tasted like Hy-Vee brand cans, and refried beans had that canned metal after taste. We are not going back for a long time. Even though it is cheap, but I feel I can throw all these pre-made things together at even less cost than what they charged us. read more

This place is in a bad neighborhood (by Lincoln standards). It's a few blocks from a homeless shelter so there's bums all over the parking lot. Anyhow the bathrooms are pretty nasty here. The service can be slow. And the credit card machine doesn't always work. Now on to the food.....for Mexican food, it's pretty good by northern standards. I had a combination plate...it was delicious. The salsas were great. Ask for the red and green sauces that come in plastic bottles! read more

Lincolns little gem! I think this restaurant is so underrated, every time I have gone food is always amazing. Super authentic Mexican food, have ate the chile colorado and chile verde unlike other restaurants this is spicy not tomato based. Tortas are phenomenal and friendly service. read more

For our first foray into Lincoln Mexican food, we were NOT disappointed. The chips and salsa were great. I got the Cinco Tacos with flour tortillas and they were probably some of the best tacos I've ever had. Their house red and verde sauces were delicious and very unique. Killer, authentic Mexican cuisine. Highlight is the Carne Asada, whether that be straight, as a taco, or on your Torta. They serve specialties on the weekend if you're into Menudo (tripe isn't my thing) or Camarones Cocktail. They have a great Mexican beer selection as well. Top this all off with 24 hour service and cheap prices. We're regulars here and have only been disappointed once (the Margs are no bueno, cheap Tequila and bottled mix). Ask for the habanero salsa, it is straight fiery delicious. read more

Stopped in for lunch with some coworkers yesterday. At first glance they are not very organized and had one server pretty much doing it all. When looking for a seat we passed 4-5 tables that were empty but still had food from previous customers on them that hadn't been cleaned and the table we sat next too had food still on it the entire time we ate. I ordered the Pork Nachos, the nachos were pretty good and you definitely get your fill for the price. It doesn't compare with some of the other better Mexican food places in town but wasn't too bad. I think the lack of cleanliness kind of turned me off from the beginning. read more

We chose this place after seeing the good reviews on Google. I'm not sure where these people ate at, but this was pretty bad. First, the restaurant was about 98 degrees inside on a 90 degree day. We had to ask twice for a high chair, which was buried so we couldn't get to it ourselves. There was something red frozen into pieces of our ice in our drinks. Wilted lettuce was alongside our burritos, which had absolutely no flavor. The ground beef burrito was 90% rice and beans. We asked for no guacamole and extra sour cream and we got guacamole on both plates, no extra sour cream. The salsa is very watery and has no flavor, either. We won't be coming back. read more

I couldn't wait to try this place since I'm a big fan of El Chaparro. They are relatives, I believe. Got the grande burrito to go. $6.50 for Lengua heaven. Delicious and HUGE. The space is perfectly sized and clean if you want to stay, with oddly surreal murals of Lincoln landmarks on the walls. I dig it. Staff is friendly and I loved my burrito. Not skimpy with the meat! Plenty of parking in the little strip mall. The address is a bit misleading. It's on O Street. Pull into the big parking lot at the light just north on 1st St. It's the shop on the corner. I will definitely be back to this cool Mexican family joint. Eat here instead of Taco Smell just down the road. read more

Food was not bad but when you tell the server 'Its our first time, you would expect her to be all over trying to impress us" NO. I don't recommend this place at all! read more
