The food was amazing, and the service was great. Parking in the University Square parking garage, take the elevator or stairs to the street, and it puts you out right at the restaurant door. We stopped by for lunch around noon on a Saturday (college not in session, so low traffic). We have finally found out go-to restaurant in Lincoln, NE! Everything we ate was best-in-class, exceptionally flavorful, generously portioned, fresh and homemade. We ordered the 4 Birria tacos, Elote corn, Birria Mac and Cheese, Birria Nachos and original horchata. It was all so delicious we decided to top it off with a Birria Grilled Cheese Sandwich for dessert. Honestly, I can't say which was my favorite. We were wanting something else but the shop was closed. Hubby chose this instead. You have to order at the cashier and they may or may not bring you your food- according to the cashier ; it depends on the level of how busy the it was in the restautant. We got in around 7 pm. Ordered at the cashier and food was brought to us within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, it wasn't as expected. Portion was not as expected. Thin layer of supposedly rice but tasted more like boxed couscous that was microwaved. The sauce and the beef was oversalted. Lots of onion and cilantro. Over heavy onion. The guy behind the bar taking our order was pushy, rushing, really showing the "i want to be anywhere but here" attitude. 2 they dont bring the food or clear the table but ask for a tip. I'm from So Cal so I'm used to good Mexican food but this is easily the best Birria from a restaurant I've ever had. The birria is soft and flavorful, the only way it could get better is just a little bit more saltiness but that's my own preference. I devoured 4 of them in no time and although I had to walk through a little construction...it was well worth it...the lady that ran the counter was super sweet and helpful in deciding what to order. I've had Birria Boss a few times now and every time it hits! Ive tried the birria tacos, quesadilla, grilled cheese, and mac as well as the elote corn. My new favorite is the mac. It honestly looked a little underwhelming when I got it, but oh my goodness it's the best thing Ive had from here yet. We ended up mixed some of the elote in to make a cheesy corn situation and I'd definitely recommend this. We did a family dinner here tonight. I was sad to see the old place that was last here, but was glad to try a new place. Back home in California, birria tacos are a big hit with my daughter and me. So I was excited! The service type is that you just walk in, order, pay, and then they call out your number when your food is ready. The restaurant has cool colors to it and had a clean front, as well as the inside. They were decently busy, so they had some trash build up and trays at the receptacles. But the tables and chairs and floors seemed clean. For dinner I had one Birria beef Taco with the salsa Verde and consommé. Loved that the consommé dip juice was not too salty. Had perfect taste! Tacos are small, but very tasty. I also had the birria beef quesadilla. Was great! The meat was so good. I loved the salsa Verde and crema white sauce they swirled on there. Wonderfully cooked and great presentation! We were all happy with the foods here and we all agreed we would definitely come back again to try other items. Please stop by and give a try. My boyfriend and I ate here on Saturday evening and decided we were going to sample a variety of menu items. He had the tacos, and I had the quesadilla. We shared the fries and cheesecake. All of our food was gone is less than 10 minutes, and we tried to savor the cheesecake. The flavor was so good on all the items. The fries were a hit!
