Came by again today for another great visit! It was Taco Tuesday, so I got my taco fix!!! I ordered 5 hard crunchy tacos, 3 chicken, 2 beef. YUM, always so goooooooood!!! I also had a 12 oz water and a 24 oz mountain Dew fountain drink. I been here a little while waiting for a friend to hopefully contact me to meet up elsewhere. I also ordered a bean & Cheese burrito to go for later! Thank you D'Leons at 1212 South Street in Lincoln for 99 cent tacos and allowing me to stay here, rest, and stay out of the colder weather/wind. The rice and beans here were so good. I got a chicken chimichanga . I didn't care for it much. I didn't eat it right away because we hade like a 20 minute drive back to our hotel. It wasn't crispy and it was full of shredded chicken. I hate shredded meat. Over all it wasn't the worst, just not for me. The service was fine, the cashier spoke some English and was able to answer our questions. It was very small on the inside. Maybe like 4 booths and slot machines . Don't enter the drive thru because you can't get out, it was definitely like an alley way lol. Luckily I was able to reverse and go on the inside. Love D'Leon's for my "fast food Mexican fix". Why bother with Tex Mex when you can get the real deal. I almost always get a chicken burrito which is packed with meat and cream cheese. I also love the breakfast burritos. I order the two burrito meal for at least a couple meals worth. You can often customize to your liking (I love adding green chili), just ask! I do wish the beans and rice were a bit more flavorful but that's not what I go here for. Some of the locations also have jalapeño poppers. Nothing fancy - just the frozen ones you deep fry but I like to add an order sometimes. Service is usually pretty friendly, lots of options on the menu. For housemade, the prices aren't bad. First time here and it won't be my last! What a great local treasure! You will miss out on the salsa bar if you get to-go, but I got carry out and they gave me lids upon request. My lips are still burning (in a good way!) for those different salsas! I could not make up my mind so I bought two dinners. #1) Crispy taco and cheese enchilada - don't do beans so I got extra rice. The taco was still crunchy despite my 8 minute walk back!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the cheese tamale was a bit salty. #9) (2) Chile Relleno - this was my favorite! I love them so much and they delivered to my expectations! The batter was light and airy, cheese was melted throughout! Flavor was on point! Best I have had in years! Lately they have been making their burritos a lot smaller. We get 4-6 burritos here a week (breakfast, carne asada and bean) and have noticed the bean burrito special on Mondays has significantly shrunk in size. Even some days when it's not on special it's smaller. Not sure what the problem is but it's not a special or deal if they give you a half sized burrito. It's a particularly bad deal if you pay full price for a shrunken burrito. Typically, we love this D'Leons but it maybe time to try some new places in Lincoln for our weekly burrito fix. read more

A Lincoln staple that goes way back in time. It really doesn't matter which one you go to, the consistency doesn't falter. It really doesn't matter if it's drunk dinner at 2am or lunch. Still delicious. You get what you get--24/7 authentic, fresh, reasonably priced, fast food Mexican that I would pick over Amigos ANY day. Some personal favorites--chicken burrito is my classic favorite, I also like grilled chicken and the Arizona. The breakfast burritos, the Nebraska and Lincoln are good choices if you're in the mood for it. Enchiladas are also delish. I wish I have explored the menu a little more, but it's hard to stray away from your favorites. And the hot sauce. Real talk, it's awesome. The perfect amount of heat and kick and a unique taste I can't pinpoint (and we are obsessed with different kinds of spicy food and hot sauces). I always ask for extra--which they don't charge you for. I think it goes without saying that if you haven't tried this place and you live in Lincoln, you're missing out. read more

1st time customer! The Menudo was delicious and hot (temperature). I was so happy to find a place w/ good menudo! My hubby ordered the hashbrown breakfast burrito and he said it was awesome. Only thing that disappointed us was their $3 "chips and salsa", it more like chips w/ soggy pico de gallo and cheese. Other than that, everything was very clean and the actually salsa bar was clean & stocked. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back. read more

I went through the drive-thru at the North 70th deLeon's in Lincoln Nebraska. There were three vehicles in front of me and one had already given their order and the second was just finishing. They have two lanes, but no vehicles were in the other lane. After the truck in front of me finished and moved forward, the Oder person said to wait a minute. I still did not see a car in the other lane. After about 3 minutes. I saw the front if a vehicle in the other lane. I could herd them giving their order, so I thought ok, they are taking turns between the lanes, even though I had been waiting 4 minutes and knew what I wanted. I then saw another car pulling into the other lane. Again they took their order before me. This is not tight and I was in the lane closest to the building and they are always slow with making orders anyway. I decided to take make business elsewhere, but pulled in line before that last car and waited my turn to go to the window to let them know of the issue and that I was taking my business elsewhere. The cashier didn't seem to care, so I called for a manager and si am posting this online. read more

If you're looking for good Mexican food in Lincoln this is the place to go. I'm not a fan of Taco Bell or Amigo's, but the folks at DeLeon's know a thing or two about good Mexican food. I regularly have the shrimp, carne asada, or abodaba burritos and I've never been disappointed. The pico sauce is great, and I love both their red sauce and their salsa verde. Hot stuff, just the way I like it! There is a little island that has pickled jalapeños and pico de Gallo as well as extra hot red sauce and salsa verde so you can jazz up your order any way you like. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable compared to the usual fast food Mexican chains in town. read more
