The other one we had was a watermelon blended ($12.99 also). Could hardly taste any alcohol. Seemed like it was from a premade mix that had alcohol already in it. I thought the house one was better. I sometimes I get the Julian one, (I think that's the name?) which is quite good, but the last time I ordered it was $1.00 more expensive than my entree, which I think is ridiculous! I think they do have mid week specials on certain margaritas though. The margaritas have prob have been this high or close to it for a while, but my husband usually pays the bill and I usually don't look at it. I've paid the bills the past few times so I've been more aware. Prob just going to order only water to drink in the future or maybe a margarita on a special occasion. Pls start listing prices on margarita menu. Also why don't birria tacos come with any sides (rice/beans)? $15.99 seems a little excessive for 3 tacos when a lot of your other entrees come with both? I know it's a popular thing to order nowadays and don't think it comes with sides at other restaurants though either. Maybe there is more meat in them than it looks, that costs more, to not include sides?!? The usual wait staff (I think it's a family owned restaurant...parents and adult kids?) are always fabulous!! Newer staff could be a bit more attentive recognizing when you are out or low on chips, salsa or water/non alcoholic drinks. Would make it easier/less stressful for regular wait staff too. Otherwise, all is well and still a great place to eat!! Will be back!!

I ended up making tostadas out of the wreckage with the help of some of the table chips. Overall, not a bad stop. The menu is big, the service is friendly, and there is plenty more to try. They provide a mild, medium, and hot taco sauce packet. I hate the packets because they are hard to open with your fingers and using my teeth as a pair of dull scissors is a bit frustrating. I ordered a Diet Coke but they serve Pepsi products. Bummer. It still went down cool and smooth with the right amount of ice. I did not have any dessert. To be honest, when I eat Mexican, sweets are not a treat! The prices were not too steep. The servings were ample. I thought I got my money's worth. The service was ok. Being from Lincoln and going to the original opening on 70th and O St. We have lived 5 minutes away from the 56th St. location for 26 years. Since the new owners took over there is ALWAYS something! For a long time we didn't go back and drove to the one on Cornhusker. Most recently, my husband was hungry and made the wrong decision to stop at the 56th location. He even went in, thinking the order might be right. He said no one was in the restaurant, the 2 gals were laughing and joking around. He left, got home and we had no chips for 2 Chips and Cheese that we paid for. He called and was very blunt and angry to have 2 chips on the counter he was coming back. (remember he is very hungry by now) In the pass we have never gone back, just ate our meal angry with our own chips. I can not remember how many times this has happened, or something else is wrong!! He let the staff have it when he got there! I/we am so disappointed this time that we really are never going to return to this location, our favorite taco place that is 5 minutes away.

It isn't exactly fancy but is large and has a pleasant atmosphere. There is a small bar up front but I never saw anyone working at it. I live part time in Jalisco, Mexico, and I'm very used to eating high quality Mexican food. Mazatlán held its own, in my opinion. Prices are a ton higher than what the meal would cost in Mexico, but that's to be expected. There is free parking adjacent to the building.
